Portugal didn't even have to play well. Turkey just helped them score goals very easily. Normally none of those goals would be conceded this easy by a team which know how to defend. Turkey are still lacking in defense too much. 

Therefore I can't say Portugal were impressive for real. If Turkey improved their defending there would be a huge chance for them to get at least one point. Remember the Portugal - Czechia game. Czechia knew how to defend and Portugal had huge difficulties. They barely won by a goal in the stoppage time. Turkey have a much bigger player quality than Czechia. They wouldn't lose like Czechia did if they played decently.

The biggest reason why Turkey lost was the wrong player choices. If you do not play the best player of the team, it is impossible to gain points in such a match. Based on the same logic if I wouldn't make a fool of myself by dropping the ball, falling on the field and I would serve with 100% accuracy I would trash Nadal 6-0 6-0. Just as I told the guy above, If Turkey hadn't received 3 goals but instead scored 1 they would have won, but!, they did because that's how they played!
If SanMarino would make a game in which they make zero mistakes they would beat Argentina 10-0, but they can't play as well as that just as Turkey can't play without major errors when facing a real adversary.

I think you are right that Portugal is indeed quality and currently Turkey still cannot surpass the strength of Portugal's national team. Overall Portugal quality is above Türkiye, but if we talk about who will accompany Portugal through the group stage, Turkey is still better than Czechia and Georgia.

I'm already criticizing the way Turkey played. I'm not saying like Turkey are the best.    The manager made big mistakes while determining the starting lineup and it affected the game plan significantly. I'm just saying they don't deserve to be underestimated like they had no chance against Portugal from the start. They needed to fix their defensive problems but they couldn't. This isn't an excuse of course but a reason to play worse.


Anyway, today Switzerland would make use of at least 1 point because they haven't officially secured top 2. I think Nagelsmann would prefer some rotation to rest some of his main players which would be wise.

It is quite hard to predict the outcome of the Scotland - Hungary match. It is quite likely to end in a draw to me but if I bet on a side my choice would be Scotland which are shown as the underdog now.

Switzerland has a position that is not yet safe, at least to qualify for the round of 16, Switzerland still needs 1 more point. So with that one point, they will have great potential to become one of the four best third-placed teams. Meanwhile, Germany has certainly qualified for the last 16, but if Julian Nagelsmann still insists on not rotating his squad, that means he indeed had the ambition to obtain absolute victory, so it won't be easy for Switzerland to just get 1 point.

I don't even believe what he told the press because the Germany we saw at the world was terrible and they haven't been themselves not until Nagelsmann took over and since then we saw the changes he has made with the team. Winning all 3 games would serve as a message to the other countries that the host are here for business and it would be nice to see the German side get a win against a stubborn Switzerland.
If the German coach wants to spare some players ahead of the round of 16 it won't really affect the team because everyone wants to play out his best to impress so I see a hungry Germany team but never forget that Switzerland would want to get a piece of the unbeaten host.

It might affect their performance in their next game after the group stage badly because of fatigue etc. as well. I don't think Germany would lose the lead anyway with a little change in the usual starting eleven. I'm really curious what Germany will do in games against bigger teams after the groups.  

When it comes to the other game of the group, both teams to score looks reasonable. It is the last chance for qualifying according to third-placed teams ranking at least.

You've said it yourself that Scotland were able to hold Switzerland who have been performing well in this tournament to a draw and you think Hungary will stand a chance? The two sides will be struggling to get above the other but of the two, I feel Scotland has more chances of winning the game than Hungary. They were beaten in the opening game by Germany but seemed to find their footing against Switzerland and if anything they will try to gain full control of the match tonight, having the advantage of playing against a team who have been unimpressive in this competition.
 
Hungary have got good strikers too who can cause upsets to any team but so far it seems they've been made quiet, maybe today can be different? This game will not be boring in any way and if I were to predict the outcome, it will be a GG event.

Well, I love your idea. I think I'll buy it if I was Julian Nagelsmann. That will definitely help to keep the squad fresh for the knockout stages.
They're my favorite country to win this Competition.

I'm beginning to think they'll settle for a draw against Switzerland. If the Swiss can get that, they'll automatically get w place in the next round. This is not a do or die affair game for Germany. But let's wait to see what plans Julian Nagelsmann has for the German national team.

I'm beginning to think the Dutch national team will go far. They have a coach who won this same trophy and Competition years ago, I think the very first time Germany hosted this Competition. Let's see if history can repeat itself again. During big Competitions like this, you need experience.
