The first half ended with a 1-goal lead for Slovakia and of course this is a good situation where they only need to maintain this advantage and get a ticket to the next phase. This game is a crucial one for the both teams which will be definitive on who's to leave or stay in the Euro... This year Euro, Croatia team has quite fallen below expectation with just a point in their group B after two games.  On a current stats, Croatia don't stand a better chance to win their next game against Italy who were very unlucky after a tough battle in the meeting with Spain  narrowly winning that game with an own goal from Calafiori. Same Spain that had a cool time beaten Croatia 3 nil.

Except history decides to repeat itself by favouring Croatia against Italy. In all of their 9 meetings record has it that Croatia has won 3 games while Italy won 1 with 5 draws. So probably if Croatia can show a bit of  improvement in that match come 24th June they could light up their chance of surviving the group stage, but a draw won't be of any good for them at all.

Italy focused on defense, and they could do almost nothing in attack, only 1 shot on target in the entire game, which is too little to count on even a draw. And Spain made 20 shots on goal and 8 of them were on target, perhaps the beginning of the match was more or less even, but then Spain controlled everything and they had opportunities to score more. Perhaps Italy will try not to lose to Croatia, because this result will be enough for them, and Croatia will only need a victory.

Italy has always been known for their amazing defense, even before 90's they were known for their defense and grew just better and better. So their hope was that they would defend very well, tire Spain out, because they would run around trying to score, and eventually when Spain is tired, they would use their fast wings and striker to just counter attack and find a goal and keep parking the bus.

This did not happen because Spain knows tiki taka better than anyone else, and they just attacked without tiring themselves out, which made it impossible for Italy to execute their plan, and instead Spain just tired Italy out and eventually a mislap in judgement caused the goal. Spain seems like a good team this tournament, they may go further than I expected.

The second half was different this time where in the first half Slovakia was able to make a good breakthrough but for this time Ukraine was the one who pressed more even throughout the 40 minutes of the second half this time.

The score is now reversed and of course this is a very good thing for Ukraine because after all with this victory, the competition for this group will become more interesting where 3 clubs get 3 points and only Belgium has not gotten any points at all because they have not played for the second match this time.

For Ukraine, all they needed in this match was a victory, and after they conceded a goal, it seemed that it would be difficult to correct the situation. In the first half, nothing was changed, but in the second, Ukraine managed to change everything, first they equalized the score, and at the end of the match they were able to score a second goal, and win the match. Yeah it was an interesting match between Ukraine and Slovakia because their both performance was almost the same and also Ukraine was very fortunate to have been able to manage and realize themselves if not they would have actually lose the match because from beginning of the match Ukraine was displaying very poor performance and Slovakia use that opportunity to secure their first goal making Ukraine uncomfortable, though they tried to have managed and protect the goal till the end of the first half but as soon they came back to the second half they became so reluctant on their performance making Ukraine to equalize on the 54 minutes and after then the match became balanced that the both side was trying all means to breakthrough but fortunately for Ukraine they manage to score their wining goal at the 80 minutes, so congratulations to them.

yes, as I said, Ukraine played better in the second half. they are starting to dare to control the ball and defend and they are comfortable doing it. every player's confidence increases. and when they lost the ball they immediately pressed the Slovak players.

Even though Italy suffered a lost against Spain but they are quite lucky as Albania did managed to force a draw upon Croatia and this will help to boost Italy chances in claiming the 2nd spot at Group B when they play against Croatia in their next upcoming match.

Only some of them concluded that Spain was the team that was expected to enter the final round and I think they had quite a reason why they chose Spain as a strong candidate to reach the final. One of them may be because their games are relatively fast and entertaining. In what was expected to be one of the most competitive matches of the group stage, Spain demolished Italy. They never gave Italy a chance to attack. Despite this, the only goal Spain scored was an own goal by Calafiori. Spain could've easily scored 4-5 goals but they wasted their chances generously. Spain showed that they are the favorites of the tournament. On the other hand Italy looked far from being the favorite. They are not even among the top 8 teams in the tournament IMO.

Having one of the William brothers helped propelled the Spanish attack. He was very explosive and creative. Infact, the both wings effectively functioned yesterday and the likes of Fabian Ruiz and Rodri detect the game nicely. They made sure hey bossed the game, I couldn't believe the defending champions would lose that one though. The goalkeeper, Dounaramma made some brilliant and important saves in the first half of the game.

As for English side, they're completely overhyped and if nobody gives Gareth Southgate tips and advice on how to manage these lads, he'll be knocked out in the knock out stage.

He should stop making use of Alexander Arnold as a midfielder, he doesn't have to qualities. I say this and I do not exaggerate about it in the slightest way.
