Without VAR we would see very different results. In many matches, the positions where the referee gives and doesn't give a goal change after the VAR review. Germany scored the first goal, Andrich's goal was disallowed for a foul previously. Then Switzerland scored and we saw that they were almost offside. Germany's dominance in the match is unquestionable but in this match I want to praise the Swiss performance which I think was quite extraordinary.
From the beginning of the first half until the second half ended they could not escape the pressure that Germany always put on today's match but indeed the Swis defense was very good and their cooperation in order to maintain their advantage was worthy of praise.

Most tomes, big matches are like that, it will always look easy but it is not always easy as we may think.

Honestly, if Germany hadn’t scored in the last minutes and Switzerland had won the match, Germany and England would most likely have faced each other in the next round. For us football fans, it would have been a chance for an early final match. I really wish this would happen. Actually, Switzerland put up a good struggle.

Thanks to Füllkrug for that late equalizer as he was able to nod in that cross into goal for the national side tonight. I think he is gradually cementing his place in the national team and will do more for as long as he continues playing. Well that's luck for Germany, because we know that even though Germany lost this last match it doesn't have any impact and they are certain to qualify for the next round after collecting 6 points in the previous 2 matches but it turned out that Germany had another scenario through a lucky goal in the last minute. Yeah Group A has ended the match and 3 teams have qualified for the next round, unfortunately Scotland had to be eliminated after only getting 1 point from 3 matches even though they only need a draw in the last match, right? I can't describe that mistake after conceding in extra time 90+10 .

Tomorrow Albania and Croatia will have to compete for points somehow they can beat these favorite teams, Albania had to face Spain who played perfectly without conceding in the last 2 matches while Croatia will face Italy and requires at least one point, well how will this scenario end or Croatia has a bigger chance than Albania?

The Germans actually dominated the possessions but as I always says the Switzerland are a very stubborn team to crack, over the last few tournaments now they have always made it difficult for oppositions to score against them. It usually takes just a goal to defeat. There defensive line up and the players there like Fabian Schar of Newcastle and Akanji of Manchester city are one of the best defensive players currently, couple with the fact that they have the every reliable Yann Sommer in the goal post, it will take something exceptional to beat them when they are on top of their game.

The headed goal by Fulkrug signifies why it is important to have a center forward who is very good on the air and as at now in world football, Nicklas Fulkrug is up there with the best on balls on the air, so with him Germany have a second plan to go long when having difficulty with teams that plays low block. The draw is a good one for Germany because having to face Spain at this stage will be too crucial

Facing Spain soon is quite risky for the team hosting the competition. Italy and Croatia are way easier than Spain in my opinion. Germany was expected to end this stage first and both of them, Germany and Switzerland, to move to the next stage.

I do not understand what are you talking about. Germany could not get to Spain in the 1/8 because the second place in Group A plays with the second place in Group B. Spain took first place in Group B ahead of schedule, so such a meeting was impossible. I'm so surprise to see Germany struggling to get a draw against Switzerland in a match that many people believed would be an easy win for the host nation. Well, they might have felt that since they already qualified, there was no point fighting too hard but assuming the lost the match, Switzerland would have topped the group. This draw also shows that surprises are not excluded from this competition because many people would have placed a direct win bet on Germany. As for me, I usually avoid games where the favorite side do not have any reason to be too competitive unless I have monitored them so well to see that their care more about records than the trophy.

Everything is actually showing that they will face Italy because Italy losing to Croatia in their last group match is not likely going to happen and even a draw will confirm Italy to be second in the group to face Germany. Italy came prepared this season and as a country that have not lifted any major trophy after the 2006 world cup, this is their chance to prove that they are indeed a football nation. The next round of the competition will definitely be very interesting because the grains are already being separated from the chaff.
