The only interesting match from the 1/8 finals would probably be France-Belgium. I watched Belgium-Ukraine and I'm not impressed at all by the Belgian team. Why they didn't put some effort and win against Ukraine, so that they could get a better opponent in the elimination stage?

Yesterday, Turkey secured a 2-1 victory against the Czech Republic in the final Group F match, advancing to the last 16. The Czech Republic bid farewell to the tournament with this result. Notably, the referee in the Turkey-Czech Republic match set a tournament record by issuing 16 yellow cards and 2 red cards. I disagree with your first part because the foul Barak commited that led to the red card was on the midfield line. It had nothing to do with desperation. He was fully focused on the ball with his eyes and didn't have bad intent, but his ill-considered timing made him step onto the foot of the Turkish player and hence the second yellow card was justified.

You may say he was more intent on clearing the ball than he was malicious in causing the foul but you know, if they hadn't let their defense be open, I don't think the Turkish player would have found his way there.

Georgia victory over Portugal yesterday was surprising and no one saw it coming. Georgia did not win with a goal difference but with two goals on clean sheet. Portugal was unable to find the back of the net throughout the match and all their effort was in vain.

I have had experience where a team struggled to qualify in group stages but turn out to become the winner if the tournament. I have seen it happen in world cup and the recent one is the AFCON last year where the host nation, Ivory Coast , came from best loser to win the trophy. The group of Belgium looks like the toughest since each of them had 4 points each but it is unfortunate for Ukraine because it's very really sad that they all shared equal points in the group but they didn't qualified for the round of 16 due to goal difference because they had -2 goal difference while Slovakia got 0 goal difference then Romania and Belgium shared 1 goal difference each. Even though Italy seems to be the favorite in the Switzerland-Italy match, Switzerland is the better team. Goalkeeper Donnaruma is a prominent goalkeeper in Italy. He can be the man of the match again in this match. If Donnaruma had not shown a great performance in the Croatia match, Croatia would have easily left the group. I see Switzerland as the team that will advance to the next round.

Very funny how some teams with 3 points had to qualify in the best losers list due to how activities played out in their group whereas teams with 4 points made it back home. Lol. With the advancement to round of 16 the tournament is going to get more interesting as the boys has been differentiated from the men now. Sincerely, I was thrilled with the Belgium vs France tie, we will have to see and enjoy  football at it best when these two opponent meet and with the equal strength of the team's it create a dripping suspense on what the results could be at FT. I have to says France performance in this competition is far from impressive because they only gets 1 win from 3 matches and France also seems hard to scores because from those matches they only scores 2 goals which these records is very poor when we compare to their performance on qualification stages because at that time France is so strong and gets 7 wins from 8 matches besides that i have been notice the performance of Mbappe because he still unable to reach to his top form too and if i am not mistaken Mbappe only still scored 1 goals
