We'd be happy to adhere to the 7 day delay rule you proposed, and I will ask minerjones if it's possible for him to confirm here that this rule will be enforced and the amount held by him at the moment.

Keeping that aside for a moment, we do not know if the problem is a withdrawal issue is down to signature campaign participants trying to withdraw funds or whether clients using the website for mixing are sending funds but are getting nothing back. There do not seem to be claims of the latter therefore it could be confined to signature campaign participants only. It still would not make it right or acceptable of-course but it would narrow the problem.

I'm a customer. I made a small deposit this morning and still haven't received anything back (with 0 hours delay on withdrawal). 

I made the rookie mistake of not checking this thread earlier. I assumed everything was fine with the service. Maybe it's worth considering a temporary pause on the signature campaign and taking down all the signatures until things get sorted. If things work out, no harm done, but just in case they might pull an exit scam, it's better to stop the promotion sooner rather than later.

There's not a single withdrawal from the multisig address after the 9th of August. How do you say this? No one claimed? No one claimed because it's a matter of 5 days and possibly, most of them have deposited to enjoy the mining reward whirlwind offered. Check out their multisig address, no withdrawal since the 9th of August. It's definitely a flag unless they solve the issue faster. Check what decodx said.

Even if MJ has the fund in escrow, I don't see how he would be able to utilize the fund to compensate any victims. The amount in question is far higher than the amount in escrow. If I can remember correctly, there were 6+ Bitcoin initially in the multisig address. They may have added more in the pool but who knows? If it's a scam, we can assume that it's more than 5 BTC + additional if they already have removed any funds. The amount in escrow won't be even close to compensate the scam (keeping aside how will it be done).

Thank you for the confirmation that the problem is far bigger. It is not just affecting withdrawals from signature campaign participants, it is affecting customers who want to mix. I am sorry your funds were not delivered even though you selected 0 hours, hopefully they will sort this issue out and it will not be a worrying situation related to an exit-scam. With $40,000 DAI in escrow I am inclined to believe there is not exit scam but time will tell.

Without a doubt I agree. Some of us stake our forum reputation on companies and businesses using our avatars and signature space therefore the appropriate course of action has to be to stop promoting them.

As hoped, if they clarified what happened and how they rectified (or intend to rectify) it, I hope their signature campaign would continue and I would like to be a part of it. If customers and clients are not able to use the Whirlwind service it means it should probably not be promoted until/unless we understand more.

For now I would advise against depositing or even generating a new note on whirlwind. If you have a balance, save it down somewhere but don't withdraw the funds from it (since nothing is being processed you'd likely run a higher risk of it getting "lost"). Sucky situation and I do wonder what might have happened, the next few days will hopefully clear it up.

I cannot speak for others but that seems the course of action you have undertaken is probably the best move considering the circumstances. The Whirlwind team have put a lot of effort as well as finances into their mixing project therefore I am also hopeful there is no malicious intent on their part. Hopefully they will post here or send you an email with an update.

Possibly yes since there was no Bitcoin address in the campaign sheet and the payment was getting added to the public note address.

I have had, up until the 10th of August, weekly (several) emails with whirlwind talking about the campaign, the future and whirlwind in general. I had one note on whirlwind which was used for campaign payouts which they would top up every other week or so (it currently holds 0.23BTC). Yes I paid out every campaign participants notes from this one, while also having my own notes on there where I made deposits and sent my weekly payments from managing this campaign.

I have no other form of communication with whirlwind, so all that can be done right now is wait and hope for an update. The site is still up, no transactions have gone out which could be a good sign. There's a lot of crazy shit going on in the world every day and without knowing where whirlwind were based I would much rather prefer to believe that something has happened.

I used Tor to access the .onion just now and it is working. I have noticed that the clearnet has not be working since long time ago. We all know that. You are correct.
