utilized TalkImg.com today for I believe the first time!(despite knowing of it for a long time) I don't tend to post images often, but needed it today! So, thanks for the service. It's unbelievable how much third party tools are out there to compliment the forum. Truly magical community!

I have had a better experience using Talkimg.com, I was struggling uploading an image when I joined the forum newly so a friend introduced me to Talkimg.com and ever since I haven’t had any issues using that to upload pictures on the forum.

Seems like you have something new for us as well so I will have to give it a try and it’s actually good to also have other options should in case one isn’t available then I think another will be available.

I don’t think it should be a temporary solution, it should be a lasting solution should incase the known isn’t available, people can have other alternatives.

There were some images which were not displaying, but they are displaying now, I just made a few tests.

Normally, the API will only be accessible to those who have an account on the site. Have you already requested the creation of an account?

No, to be honest, I haven’t applied for an account; I haven’t tried to create one, or rather, I couldn’t find a form to register as a user.
So I assume you have to do it manually yourself.

The other day, I was posting an image that was too big, and failed to use your ZIP TOOL, and I had to use another random service, which was, of course, not properly functioning.

Yes, of course.
I tried to upload a 5 Mb image, and got the error message. And I am pretty sure I always got the error with images above the 2 Mb limit.
In addition to that, I can add the detail I am using safari for mobile, this might help to debug.

I have no troubles to open https://zip.talkimg.com in Safari on an iPhone and upload and convert a 12MP sample picture, which of course I had first to convert from HEIC file format (Apple's default) to a JPG of same pixel dimensions and mostly same size. The ZIP tool had to reduce the file size slightly to land under roughly 2MiB. Pixel dimensions were not changed.

Since you don't mention what kind of error you get and the ZIP tool is intended to be used for larger file size pictures, I wonder what exactly went wrong on your side.

Are you sure you upload your picture(s) in one of the ZIP tool's supported file formats (JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, and BMP according to zip.talkimg.com)?

I tested also an upload from iPhone's media library of photos which in my case are in HEIC file format and Safari seems to automatically upload a JPEG file format version of a photo, instead of a HEIC file which I first assumed.

The image is a picture snapped with iPhone, and uploaded from photo gallery. As Criktor suggested, I am pretty sure the format was a .jpg

Stumbled upon a weird bug today, the very first one in fact.

So long story short, I was doing my usual thing, was on my mobile, selected a screenshot, tried uploading it and got "media_err_src_format" error (it didn't upload). Then again I closed everything, all tabs, browser and tried uploading, this time it worked. 

It was a normal image (300kb, jpg format)

Although nothing major, but I'm still reporting, just in case it helps somehow.

So long story short, I was doing my usual thing, was on my mobile, selected a screenshot, tried uploading it and got "media_err_src_format" error (it didn't upload). Then again I closed everything, all tabs, browser and tried uploading, this time it worked. 

This error may have been caused by a problem with the browser's cache, which misinterpreted the type of file being sent. If the browser is experiencing memory overload or if the process that manages that tab fails for a moment, you can invalidate the process.

That's why when you closed everything and tried again, things worked normally, because the old "errors" were cleared and you started over.

I believe it's a very specific issue, and it may be related to the image preview system. I will try to internally see what I can do to minimize this situation in the future.

Unless you have a very old version of iOS, iPhone photos these days default to an HEIC format. There is a way to change it under settings/camera/formats, but if it is the default settings, you would need to copy the image out of photos to "Files", or send them to a computer, and can then get it into JPG.
