Palmer should absolutely take a rest. He just forced himself to play against Manchester United for no reason. Of course he wanted to play because of its being a big game. But he was able to hold on for only 20 minutes...

In this time period of 2-3 weeks, Chelsea can move on nicely without him. The only problem is the Liverpool game though... It is a home one and they could really need Palmer there so badly. I don't think their squad is as good as Liverpool's now. They need their star player to get some more points in such big games. Anyways, they are hosting Brighton this week. Brighton's away record is poor so far. I think Chelsea can beat them. 1.90 odds have been given for their win. Why not giving it a try?

Chelsea doesn't look better than City to me, I feel like Chelsea will not have a good season this year, and that is understandable and not a big deal, it happens. They are a team filled with players, still trying to get rid of so many of them and even though they are getting so many players, I would say they are still missing two very important parts. It is a goalkeeper and a striker. If they end up being bad at those two positions, no matter how great rest of the squad looks, they will always suck.

Right now they do not have an elite level goalkeeper or striker, they could have bought so many during the summer, but decided not to on all cases. So, it is normal for them to end up with these results that is not good.

I don't think either team is good; they haven't started the season well. The squad quality isn't bad, but they're not playing the level of football we'd expect.
Chelsea is one of the more interesting teams this season. You might say they don't have a good striker, but despite that, they've scored 10 goals so far, making them one of the highest-scoring teams.
After scoring 5 against West Ham, we thought they'd have a good season, but they haven't scored that many goals again

It's too early to be resting Palmer, the league just started and he's needed more than ever by Chelsea,  in the game against Manchester United you could see that Palmer's absence was felt in that match if only Sanchez didn't make that error that got him booked maybe with Palmer and other attackers in the match, Chelsea would've won.

 Despite the being one man down you could see the energy from Chelsea they didn't back off so I blame the coach for removing all his attackers for defence too quick. Well the match against Liverpool would be tough no doubt, cause they're strongest team in the League currently but as for Brighton, I doubt they'll win Chelsea.

The first game, at 12.30 pm tomorrow, is between Brentford and Man United. United are a slight favourite, but the last time they won 2 games in a row in the same season was in May 2024. Ruben Amorim says this is the most important game in a long time. Personally, I wouldn't be betting on this game on either side. That's just too much uncertainty there. But yeah, it will be a good test to see if United are actually making any progress.

let me talk about something that’s part of human nature, nobody wants to wait too long, people don’t like waiting for the things they enjoy. I don’t think M.City fans want to wait either, just like me. Other teams have strengthened their squads a lot, but what has Man City done this summer? Honestly, nothing.
I don’t want to wait 2-3 years. Even if I did, what if the players don’t reach the potential that’s expected of them? Will we just have wasted our time waiting?

While I am not from there and do not support any English team, I would like to mention how they won so many league titles, so many cups, and even had a treble with UCL which is insane and very rarely done in history. So when you think about all of those, it's clear that they already gave the fans what they need, and the fans needs to learn to be patient a bit.

If you can't wait for a few years for the team to get back to being great, after that many years of success, then you are not a true fan. Look at other teams, there are many teams who failed to win a title in MANY years, and yet they are still supporting their team to fullest extend, buying jerseys and doing all they can. So, it is unfair to say they are required to win quickly again.

I can see that some Chelsea fans haven't recovered fully yet after Manchester United defeated them at old Trafford. In that match,Manchester United dominated Chelsea in the entire first half of the game,played better and casemiro and Bruno Fernandez scored  two goals within 38 minutes. Chelsea returned with confidence to equalize the game, Chelsea dominated Manchester United to an extend that I thought the game would end as a draw. However I think Chelsea shouldn't be underestimated because they were defeated by Manchester United. Chelsea vs Brighton is a tough game,Brighton may be a hard team to crack but not for Chelsea.

I am thinking the same as you, you know for Aston villa to have gotten their first win of the season they are going to be motivated and the fact that they are playing at home, same place they won Bologna it's going to be an extra motivation for them. I don't see anything wrong with giving Aston villa the win today. It could be that they have identified and fixed their problem and they are back to winning ways.

I listened to a podcast and one of the analysis suggest that their momentum just got fucked over by their failure to participate in the UCL this season. It's a mentality thing, and they didn't really do a good job of rejuvenating their forwards/attacking players either. I think that makes sense. You need time to recover after a terrible result, especially when the disappointment is so big. It's not as easy as saying "let's do it again", even if you're a pro athlete.

It is not reasonable for players to just give up simply because they ended up not getting to play in UCL, that is not reasonable. I understand not being great at the moment, but that is not something they should be accepting all season long. They need to do better and I sure do hope that they do, because that team definitely deserves to stay in the league.

Worst case scenario they will have a bad season, finish like 14th or something for example, not a great year, but at least stay and be good. However, if something major happens, and they just fail to gain any good momentum at all, and end up with bad results for a long time? That is not going to be ok at all, they are going to get relegated and that's not fine.

Chelsea's home match is Chelsea's favorite. This is a normal equation. Also, Chelsea's team is also quite strong. Chelsea's chances of winning are high. Another reason to consider chelsea as the favorite is that Brighton is not in good form this season. The team has won only one of the 5 matches.
