I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

I think gambling is very different from each other. Among my friends there is a professional poker player who has won a lot of money in professional tournaments, and he does not look like a check addiction.
He is always very cold and calculating, while the other side of gambling, for example, say, a casino or sports betting can cause great dependence, even if a person wins a lot in them.

Addiction is not necessary when a person spends all his money, for example, addiction can appear in the fact that a person spends all his time and attention on this activity completely forgetting about his family and his responsibilities.

I love how simplified you stated your points and you gave me a second thought on addiction but I also want to know if there is actually a difference  between loving what you do and getting addicted?
Addiction in this case is a situation where despite consistently making significant losses but still keeps gambling beyond odds and even goes to the extent of selling their properties just to satisfy their urge to gambling despite making severe losses.
Just like your friend, he might be successful depending on what his gambling goals are but the moment the losses gets massive and the quest to wanting to recover your losses is one of the greatest leading route to addiction,  no wonder it is always advised only use money we can afford to loss.

I believe that a person loves his job only if he creates something with his actions. And then he can be forgiven huge dates of time and effort for this activity. But if a person just sits in front of roulette or bingo for days, then, of course, this will mean that he likes this activity, but in the end it will be disastrous for him.

And again, I would like to single out poker as a separate type of gambling, I believe that it is permissible to engage in it for many hours a day, because there is mathematics, calculation, emotions, and I consider it the most serious kind among all types of gambling.
