What happened to Rohit Sharma suddenly;D. This guy looks like he is high on octane, zero pressure for him as he is going all in. He is the one who has scored most of the total for India. 77 runs from Rohit and 12 from Ishan Kishan out of a total of 96 runs. Rohit getting prepared for the next game against Pakistan. Shubhman Gill will be joining the squad when India plays against Pakistan on the 14th. BTW, found out that Rohit has become the only batter to hit the largest number of sixes in the World Cup.

This is a respectable total for Afghanistan, considering at one point they were 68/3. Overall, fine recovery. Although the way their partnership was building, they could have added 10-15 extra runs. 

This is Afghanistan's 2nd highest run in the ODI World Cup. Considering the situation they were in, they recovered well. Their Top order could do a little better than how they played there. Usually, ICC tries to organize tournaments on sporting wickets. So, there is nothing special in the pitch for bowlers. So, It's the failure of their top order of not being able to score in the first ten overs.

Even though India is the favorite in this match and they are likely to win the match, I still consider this a good total to defend considering how well the Afghans bowling line up. If they can manage to get a first few wickets in the first ten to fifteen overs, the game will become more interesting.

Respectable but hardly looks defendable atm.

The way Sharma ji ka launda is batting, even 300 looking average score now. Kishan is just another spectator in the stadium and watching Rohit doing all the heavy lifting. Also horrendous bowling from the Afghans. 

The best scene of today was when Naveen came to bat and Virat tried to run him out, that got wasted because of Rahul. The next event would be when Kohli comes to bat and he is bowling to him, it would make this match more exciting.

I still do not agree this point that if Afghan team gave 350 runs target or more then 350 and then they still did not have a chance to win this match. India team at this moment in full form and they really performed outstanding in both matches. This match Afghan team lost this match very terribly from India. India won this 9th match of Icc World cup from Afghanistan by 8 wickets and 90 balls (equal 15 overs) are left and they lost only 2 wickets R.Sharma and I.Kishan. From Afghanistan team, H.Shahidi scored 80 runs in 88 balls and other players did perform well and from bowling line, R.Khan took two wickets of Indian batters R.Sharma and I.Kishan.

Indian bowling has been outstanding on a batting surface. I was watching Kuldeep bowling his last over and I was surprised to see him turning the ball. Sir Jadeja has not been able to dent the batting of the Afghanistan team. He was very successful against Australia where he took 3 wickets. Considering the experience of the Afghanistan team in a 50-over match, they are playing very well.

Azmatullah Omarzai batting brilliant and departs for Scoring 62(69) against India after a brilliant partnership more then 100 runs with Hashmatullah Shahidi. Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi is back in the pavilion after a remarkable 80 runs in 88 balls. Hashmatullah batting put Afghanistan in a good position after three early wickets. I would say Afghanistan batted very well. I can't call a target of 273 runs a bad target on this pitch. The average first innings runs on this pitch of Delhi is 230 runs. So the collection of 272 runs for Afghanistan is going to be called a good collection. The average run of the second innings of this pitch is only 207 runs. But it cannot be said that Afghanistan will win. The opponent India is very strong. Even if the pitch is decent enough to target,

Today's pitch was not conducive to batting. But the performance of the Indian batsmen seems to be a pitch that is completely conducive to batting. India batted very responsibly. Since the target was not very big. So the Indian batsmen were not under any pressure today. Then Rohit Sharma's innings of 131 runs put India completely in control of the match. And at the same time the Afghanistan bowlers lost confidence. As the pitch was in condition, the spin bowlers should have had a huge advantage. But today there is no better performance than the spin bowlers of Afghanistan. India cruised to an easy win with 90 balls and 8 wickets to spare.

Rohit failed in the first match, but he was in the pretty good form since the Asia cup and Ishan Kishan, the only person who is still not at his best is Shreyas. KL has been excellent since his comeback and gave winning knock in the Asia cup too with century along with Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya too.

AFG not really prepared themselves for 50 over format, that is why their batting collapses in such QuickTime and Rashid Khan also became ineffective or being punished due to no support from other end.

I am a bit disturbed by the fact that almost all the matches so far in this tournament have been one-sided. Even the matches between pig-4 teams are getting lop-sided. Examples are the opening match between England and New Zealand, as well as the match between Australia and India. The ODI format is already on backfoot due to competition from T20. If the matches become one-sided, then in the long term fan interest will be lost. I am not sure about the future of the ODI format, and the future of the ODI World Cup. Perhaps 2027 will be the final edition of the ODI World Cup, if the current trends continue.

What a brilliant innings by the Indian Captain. He played the 50 over match like T20. Yesterday’s knock broke many records. Rohit became the highest six hitter of the world, fastest player to cross 1000 runs in world cup. Most number of hundreds in world cup and fastest world cup century for India. What a player he is, it was really great to see him, hitting these high sixes. Now regarding Subhman Gill, then he is still doubtful to play against Pakistan, as he is not completely fit and he hasn’t left Chennai. Let’s hope for the best.

I think pitches in this World Cup are to blame. Pitches are batting-friendly (flat), and nothing is there for the bowlers. I think a pitch with 50-50 is better, favourable for both batting and bowling. It would be ideal for a close contest between bat and ball. 
In this World Cup, we will see record centuries scored in a single edition of a World Cup. We will also see the highest-ever number of sixes in a World Cup, because of these flat wickets.

He lost form only in T-20 and Tests. In ODI his numbers were always good, as long as he's batting in the middle order. He only gets in the deep hole when opening, regardless of format, unfortunate because he's a natural talent but at the same time depressing and low on confidence as well. KL batting in the middle order solves all the problems as far as the ODI format is concerned.

David Warner, Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne got good starts against India, but none of them could convert their knocks to a half-century. Their bowling looked OK though. Josh Hazlewood rattled the Indian top order, while Mitchell Starc also bowled decently. Spin department is a concern though, as Adam Zampa was unable to find good line and length during the last match.

My guess was that Australia would win. But as South Africa batted brilliantly in the first match, I don't trust the Australian players. South African batsmen are in very good form.

Australia won the toss and decided to field. South Africa's two openers are batting responsibly. The team has not yet lost any wicket in 15 overs. If their run rate is less than 6. Still, with no wickets lost, the southpaw is likely to deliver the target at a high score. South Africa collected 80 runs in 15 overs. Both de Kock and Bavuma are batting very responsibly. Australia lost their first match against India. They must win today if they want to stay in the top four of the table.
