The wicket of Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen at the death overs cost at least 30 runs. Kudos to Cummins-Hazlewood duo for picking these 2, they were about to change gears and things could have been ugly for the Aussies.

Not sure if 310-320 is defendable unless Keshav and Shamsi click with the ball for Protea. 2 tons for De Kock in 2 matches, bummer he's taking retirement from ODI after this WC.

I am not sure whether a total of 320 can be defended by South Africa. Remember that they conceded 326 against Sri Lanka. Against an Australian lineup that includes quality players such as David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne, this is clearly not going to be enough. And also, Jansen and Rabada were very expensive during the last match, and this time also I am not expecting much from them. When Aiden Markram got out, they were 263/4 after 43 overs. They should have made somewhere around 340.

I believe this target won't be easy for the Australian batters to chase. Unless Maxwell goes into the demolition mode, most of their batter is out of form. The pitch earlier in the game was not looking good for batting. It has now eased down a little bit still won't be an easy chase for the Australian batters. Someone has to bat exceptionally better if they want to win against South Africa. Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi are the ones who can become an issue for the Australian batters.

South African batsmen were not in good batting form at the start today, but later on their batting improved and scored high runs. While the South African batsmen scored 311 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, I think they got enough runs to win. South African batsman de Kock batted brilliantly as he scored a century of 109 off 106 balls, which was really impressive. As their high run today will give them enough support to win, I think South Africa will definitely win against Australia today. South Africa were in great form in their first match and finished today's match on a high note. It can be said for sure that South Africa will win today's match, Australia will lose, Australia's batting performance is very poor today.

I Think This World Cup is supposed to be special for the finger spinners, and South  Africa can very well rely on Keshav Maharaj. The condition of the Australian team is now deplorable. Their batting bowling as well as fielding has deteriorated drastically. It would have been acceptable if only the batting and bowling had deteriorated. But their fielding was also atrocious today. I think today's match is the worst fielding I have seen in this World Cup.
No batsman in the squad is in form. Their collection against India was 199 runs in today's match they collected 177 runs. The team is not getting good performance from the batsmen as well as the bowlers. The Australian captain used his 7 bowlers today. I don't like the performance of any bowler except Maxwell. Australia will not be able to qualify for the semi-finals. And I don't think they can even be in the top 6 of the table.

De Kock made 2nd Century hurt Australia NRR in Negative South Africa now top of the table with 2/2 wins. South Africa in bowling Jansen, Rabada and Ngidi were all on fire. Later Shamsi and Maharaj did the rest of the job. Steve Smith's dismissal will be discussed for a while now. South Africa starting this World Cup with bang, both dominating Victories for South Africa. Australia are in deep, deep trouble. They have lost both matches and sit just above Afghanistan right now. The last time Austraila lost their first two World Cup matches was in 1992. I Still think, those writing off Australia making a mistake. They are a dangerous team, it's just that they haven't clicked yet. first 2 matches for Australia were those tough matches.

Nothing but poor choice of player selection by the Australian Cricket Board. Another thing is injuries, as a few players are still recovering from it, then in the end the poor form of existing players. This World Cup might be one of the worst one for Australia team in the history of World Cup. After back to back loss they would need a good victory to comeback, they have a match against Srilanka on the 16th. A big win in that match would help the Australian team.

Given their current form, I really doubt whether they can win against Sri Lanka. Australia made a total of 177 against South Africa, while Sri Lanka made 326 against the same opposition. This is not an apple to apple comparison, but it provides enough proof against the argument that the match against Sri Lanka is going to be somewhat easy for Australia. Anyway, the Aussies need to be careful now. The race for semi-final slots are heating up and they are well behind the other teams now. They need to win at least 5-6 of their remaining 7 matches.

Steve Smith himself was shocked by the decision. The ball was clearly missing the leg stump AFAIK, but somehow ball tracking showed that it is going to flick the leg stump. And even then, it had to be "umpire's call". And this is where the confusion started. On-field umpire had ruled it not out, so as per "umpire's call", it should have been not out. But the third umpire actually asked the on-field umpire Joel Wilson (who himself was in a state of shock) to reverse his decision and rule Steve Smith out LBW.

It is going to be extremely difficult for Bangladesh. First of all, New Zealand is in extremely good form. The big news for them is that Kane Williamson is likely to be included in the playing XI after a gap of 7 months. BTW, other players are also in good form. Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway made centuries against the Poms, while Tom Latham/Will Young made runs during their second clash (vs Netherlands). And in the bowling department so far Trent Boult and Mark Henry have been exceptional, along with the spinner Mitchell Santner.

Chennai spin factor will play a vital role in the match. Both teams have good spinner Satner and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. I still feel the Kiwis are looking far better than Bangladesh. They have a better batting side with most batters in form. Bangladesh has a good bowling but their batters have been inconsistent in this tournament. A low scoring match can some time give thrilling end. I have not seen any match in this tournament that had a close finish. Tomorrow we might be able to see it, when India plays against Pakistan.

Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Tanzid Hasan are back in pavilion, while Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto are at the crease for Bangladesh. The Kiwi pace trio (Boult-Henry-Ferguson) have so far done a decent job. Now the focus shift to their spinners (Mitchell Santner-Glenn Phillips-Rachin Ravindra). They didn't picked Ish Sodhi for this match, which I believe may turn out to be the correct decision.
