Today i tried doing 5 sets of 10 push-ups taking couples of break in between rather than 2 sets of 25. In this process I felt less tiredness in my arm than before. So I may increase my push-ups by 60 to70 couple of days later.

I started this challenge 7 days ago and I did 10 push ups in the morning 10 in the afternoon and 10 in the evening.
For now I can't do 100 pushups a day I will be doing 30 since I'm a lady.
Spreading them and doing it throughout the day will be so helpful, when I start my arms were really in pain but now I have adapted.

I must say is not an easy one for me but I'm happy doing it that way, for a long time now I have not been to the gym so am talking this challenge very serious especially now that I know there are a lot of health benefits doing push ups everyday.

Good to know you're taking part in this challenge, I guess you're one of the rare types here although I might not be sure as this forum is anonymous place gender is not disclosed except by choice.

Doing 10 push ups straight would be very stressful for you at this point and it's a normal feeling for one to feel some kind of pain in the beginning almost all beginners felt the pain while starting but as time goes on you would be fine or eventually begin to get us to it. congratulations on your 7th day with over 210 push ups it's quite impressive.


Here is my report, a continuation for today's push ups. I also added some extra weight lifting and some ruining to keep the body more balanced.

You are welcome to this challenge first time posting here you might have studied this thread very well your push-up report format shows you have been visiting this thread without making any comment, that's by the way as a lady you must not take your push-up so hard when performing your daily routine so you won't get injuries in your muscles, since you have been consistent with your push-up for a week now hitting 10 reps each i will advise you try to increase your push-up number to 15reps you can choose the number of set that you would like to go, with your consistence you will notice you will gather more strength and stamina to push above your limit then gradually your will see your self pushing numbers you can't imagine you are the one doing it. You already know that there are great health benefits when performing exercises.

Welcome to the push up challenge. You don't do too many push ups in the beginning, you try to do less push ups first then gradually increase. If you try to do too many push-ups in the beginning, your body might hurt.

However, I am currently not fully recovered. I did 100 push ups yesterday, 100 push ups today. I think I will recover by this week. Completed my 5k push up today. I am very happy to see that my total push ups are 5k.

Rough busy day for me today and I’m pretty tired. I also haven’t started my push-ups yet. This is for sure the latest I’ve gone in a day without starting push-ups yet this challenge. I’ll still get them done no problem and will do 50 as soon as I hit post. I just hope this doesn’t start a trend for me personally that leads to me missing a day…

Pushups is really a good excerise to engage in for both male and females, it has helped a lot in boosting my physic, I remember i used to be all fat in my Tommy area but now I'm quite lost some weight there and I really am happy with my progress so far, thanks everyone.

I realized by myself how important physical fitness is for a person. I have realized since long time that my body weight is increasing day by day I was not so conscious about fitness. But due to my weight increasing day by day I felt restless and various problems were arising so I joined a gym near my house. I have been joining the gym for three months now and I never thought I could change my physical fitness so quickly. But all my food has to follow above the gym food list. But I now understand how important a person's physical fitness is, every person should look after their own physical fitness. Especially we should avoid taking any healthy food such as fast food, sweets, etc. All these foods add a lot of weight to our body. So we must change the food menu and focus on our physical fitness.
In as much as exercise is essential to the body food is also much essential to the body also, the body system really needs food expecially proteinous food because what we are doing here (exercise) is not an easy one so telling us to avoid talking healthy food is wrong.

There are essential proteins and there are essential fats. There is no such thing as essential carbohydrates...

I am not sure why you are talking about "especially proteins" when there are fats that are essential, too.

So many times people like to ignore fats and/or to downplay them or to even think of them as bad or second class citizens.. since many of us are brained-washed by mainstream framing of these matters.. and therefore we only emphasize proteins and end up giving improper emphasis to at least two out of the three macro nutrients.. too much emphasis to protein and too little emphasis to the importance of fats.

Starting out pretty BIG for a newbie.. and supposedly an "already in-shape pusher up."

Thanks boss. Just like i said earlier i use to do it before but wasn't taking record so it's like part of me i don't feel pains just that am always hungry whenever I am done with the push-up but those small sickness i use to experience before I don't feel or see them again that's one of the advantage.

Maybe you would like to share some of your pushup history, and how you got to be able to do 200 pushups per day on average, including how you are doing them currently in recent times as compared to how you had been doing them historically, and perhaps let us know more details in regards to how long you had been doing pushups in your routine and how you had been doing them in order to get up to a status of being able to do 200 pushups per day (on average).

I think I starting working out again around Dec 2020.

Just attach to the cycle bars .

I had got down to 185 pounds and was on good shape. I then did the hernia operation and stopped exercising for a long time. I gained almost 30 pounds. 215 or so. I am back to 195 and getting in shape. The stair climbing and light cycle work is a bit better than the  just lite cycle work.

I really like that this thread came along. I took a long break for my next surgery and am now getting back to it.

I think that partly you are making the point in regards to what I had been trying to say earlier, in that there is some benefits to push beyond just cardio training (and even light exercise) and try to push some of your various exercises into resistance training rather than cardio.

One of the problems with overly emphasizing cardio is that if you do the cardio first, then you don't have any energy left to do the resistance training... so frequently it will be better to either start out with resistance training or to control the amount of cardio or warm up that you do prior to fitting in your resistance training so that you can make sure to get in resistance training on a fairly regular basis. .because even though the resistance training hurts, it is what you old foggies need (and yeah, I will include my self in your old-foggie group since I am not really that far behind you, you old fart).

Today was nice, since I am back caught up again in regards to my targeted average of pushups per day. .. so yeah, if any of us might miss some sets during a day or two or even longer, and the it can take a quite a bit of time and stress and focus to catch back up.. that is if it is even important to catchup.. and yeah the same question continues to linger about whether maybe having a lower average pushups per day target might be more healthy and sustainable.. .


I am using an Android phone and I don't know if all the features are showing here and again I am not too familiar with some features that means I can't be able to tabulate it but I would've love to. I started push-up when I was in secondary School then we usually do sports and some other activities and we use to call it press up back then in school, I use to do it at random then but I don't do less than 50 not at a time sha.

So, this time around I use to do 100 push-up in the morning before I take my shower and 100 push-up in the evening before I take shower. I usually draw something like a square and divide it into 5 parts so that when I go the first 20 push-up I tick the first box in that square just like that till i tick the 5 box then I am done for that morning and same in the evening, I use 20 so that I won't get tired quick.

And if you mean participating in the push-ups challenge that's very easy, I'm sure you know what push-up is and you can do it at the comfort of your home without stressing yourself going to the gym, read a few or as many comments as you can on this topic and you will understand what other users are doing, do as many push-ups as you can don't hurt yourself while at it and don't forget to count your push-ups because you will have to record your numbers of push ups here if you want to be included in the record table.

I agree with you @JayJuanGee because it will be more clarifying if he would share more details on how he managed to arrive on 200 puships per day because in other words he could be misunderstanding puships for other exercises and besides there are so many types of pushup perhaps he could be using Wall pushup that's why he was able to complete such number per day because we know that in all the classification of pushups, Wall pushups is actually one of the easiest to do, so getting to that number per day could be possible but however like you said it will be more understandable if he will be able to share some of his pushups history so that it will be more easy for us to know how he was able to do it.
As much as JayJuanGee asked Sotelorene to tell us how he achieved an average of 200 push-ups per day, don't make it look like doing 200 push-ups a day is impossible. He can adopt a strategy that would make him not struggle to complete the 200 push-ups a day; the strategy will only be time-consuming. For instance, Sotelorene can adopt a strategy of 10 sets of 20 reps, in which he will maintain 20 push-ups in each set, which I think is easy to achieve. There was a time in this push-up challenge when I did more than 200 push-ups per day in 4 reps in a week. If you have been doing push-ups like the people on this thread, 200 push-ups a day is a small number to achieve.

Time for reports updates guys, hope you all having a beautiful and eventful weekend also love to wish you all a happy new month glad we made it passed half the year despite the odds.
I’m Gradually feeling like I can increase my push-ups but I don’t want to rush into it so I don’t run far from it since this is has been a stressful season all round.

I don’t know if I’ve said this before but please if I have and you’ve responded just show me where, I’ve noticed an increase in my appetite and I feel my recent push-ups plus other workouts could be the cause, I’d like to know if this is normal with others or if there’s something wrong and how to go about in managing the situation.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to just jump on the munch wagon and start eating whatever I crave which is why I believe it’s only wise to seek advice from those who’ve been through similar experiences

New months greetings as we keep pushing and unstoppable till our dreams become reality, I  have decided to launch a full scale push up and cutting down the number of push up daily to suit my tight corner not to miss out this time, I see that going by 15 by 5 time is ok as it will enable me engage with other activities not to stress up my muscles.

I have 12 steps to first floor from kitchen in second floor.






so I am still  discovering just how many steps / flights of stairs I can do.

I WENT to doctor  to check the operation healing so doctor was happy. But he saw me early so I decided to do one set at lunch vs 2 one at breakfast one at dinner.

SINCE I did just one set I did 240 steps up and down which is 20 flights of stairs up and down. IT is real cardio work. I COULD do more steps than 240 I am now past 8 minutes time. WANT TO ADD to steps and time.

I decided to try to do 1 set a day and get to 15-20 minutes

I did 276 steps or 23 flights of stairs today in 9 minutes and 2 seconds.

After dinner I will do relaxed cycle time with rubber band curls.

I work upper body and allow my legs a stretch exercise.

The dual stair workout was not allowing me recovery time

I did 288 steps 24 flights of stairs in 9 minutes and 58 seconds.

I think I am closing in on how many I can really do as today my left knee felt just a bit of pain after exercise.

After dinner I will do relaxed stationary cycle and pull the rubber bands for arm muscle .

So my knee felt some pain yesterday I was in a pair of shorts while working out so today I kept the AC off and the house was 86f or 30c

The knee had no pain. I pushed up to 11 minutes and 11 seconds  so 324 steps is 27 flight of stairs.

I am nearing top end of my breath control. ie I am panting like a mofo by the time I get to 9 minutes I do the last 2 minutes or so on will.

My legs are holding up.
The left knee was good with the hotter room.

I am in the 192 pound range. I was about 213 in April so say 20 pound weight loss.

A1C dropped from 6.3 to 5.3.
6.3 is decent for a type 2 diabetic  but 5.3 is solid number doctor is going to like that.

 I go to doctor on June 10 we will see how other numbers are.


Did all time best today 360 steps 30 flights of stairs in 12 minutes and 9 seconds.

I weigh 193 pounds so I did 360x193 = 69480 pounds lift up and placed down in 8 inch distances.

Now granted the weight moved is mostly all moved by leg and buttock muscles. I bit of arm as I do pull on the banisters some of the time.

If you weigh 193 and do 100 pushups that would be 193x100 = 19300 pounds lifted up and lowered  down about 13 inches different muscles.

To anyone doing 100 pushups in 1 shot what time do you do the 100 in?

New months greetings and first quarter last month as we keep pushing and unstoppable till our dreams become reality, I  have decided to launch a full scale push up and cutting down the number of push daily to suit my tight corner not to miss out this time, I see that going by 15 by 5 time is ok as it will enable me to engage with other activities not to stress up my muscles.
