They'll be back most likely, this happened at the last update as well if I'm not mistaken.

I think they only went down for the update as they are finding blocks again.

DELTA is a GO.

What is DELTA?

DELTA is the most advanced diff algorithm that has been developed by the Guldencoin development team to keep our blockchain running smooth and to give our dedicated miners better value. Multi/Jump pools have changed the game and DELTA is our answer to them.

Why was the name DELTA chosen for a diff Algorithm?

The Delta Works project in the Netherlands protects a large area around the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta from the sea, the Delta works project has been declared one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.  We thought this was fitting as DELTA is going to protect stalls in the guldencoin blockchain caused by jump pools.

Was the need for DELTA serious?

http://nlgstats.iblogger.org/

Please review the above link and notice the blocks per day and longest block gaps caused by jump pools entering and exiting our blockchain. We knew after trying
kgw, DGW3 and Digishield that we had to come up with our own difficulty algorithm.

Is DELTA future proof?

The simple answer is yes. It was one of the main goals to consider the potential changes in mining and the increased power that will come from future miners
as the world starts to adapt to virtual currencies.

What else is DELTA going to achieve?

DELTA is only the first part of our implementation for keeping the blockchain running smooth. DELTA is already prep'd to take on Multi Algo in the next release.
While Multi Algo on it's own does a good job, DELTA with Multi Algo will be a perfect fit. One of the main goals of DELTA is to bring back dedicated mining
to Guldencoin. The miners are the lifeblood of the blockchain and need to be given a suitable environment in which to operate. DELTA is for you and our users!

What won't DELTA achieve?

DELTA won't prevent jump pools from coming in and claiming blocks, but it will make it less profitable for them to do so.
Depending on the amount of hash that could leave our network we could experience 60minutes block times but we feel it will rarely exceed this time. Compare it to the nlgstats link above and you will see that as a massive improvement over what we have currently. It also allows us to stay at 150(2.5min) second blocktimes.

The development team behind DELTA.

Frank (C_E_D)/Malcolm (MaNI) , our 2 core developers have made this all possible by thinking out the box, hard work and passion to deliver the best possible solution for Guldencoin.
Geert Johan(/GeertJohan) reviewed the code and gave it a thumbs up after discussing some details with the core developers.

For the latest additions to the Guldencoin development team you can review the below link.

https://community.guldencoin.com/t/overseeing-core-development-for-guldencoin/1021

DELTA will go LIVE at block 213500, the line in the blockchain has been drawn and it's time to crossover.

Addition updates done in 1.4 release:

New Graphics added to wallet by Rijk.
New Checkpoint added.

DELTA is just the first innovative solution we bringing to the table, the next update will be our largest and most important by far and some exciting new features to come.

So stay tuned!
Guldencoin development team.

Bump!

Only less than 48 hours to go for Delta to kick in, at this rate of finding blocks. 322 blocks to go. Rate of finding blocks is 168 blocks/24 hours atm

I am new and need some advice.

I presently have my Guldencoins in a Guldencoin131 wallet.
After I download the Delta 1.4 release do I then transfer (deposit) my Guldencoins after making a regular withdrawal from my old wallet?
What is best to do with the old wallet / uninstall?

Thank you.

Best news I have heard all week. My sister asked if she needed to download the new wallet. You guys might want to mention it's a mandatory update. It's obvious for us crypto gurus but not to the normal user.

Hello, I'm a normal? user too and I have a question for someone.

Presently I have my Guldencoin in the Guldencoin131 wallet and will download the Delta 1.4 release.
After I download the new wallet do I simply transfer/deposit my Guldencoins into the Delta wallet as you normally do a deposit.  I've  never done this procedure.

Also, after my Guldencoins are deposited in the Delta wallet, is the best option to uninstall the old wallet from my computer?

Thank you.

1) If you haven't already, make a backup first.

2) Download the new wallet 1.4.0 https://guldencoin.com/download and place it in a folder you want (f.e. c:/windows/guldencoin) and make a shortcut to desktop by right-click on the file (snelkoppeling naar bureaublad).

3) Open this new Delta wallet (1.4.0) and all your coins will be in there. Use this wallet from now on.

4) You don't have to uninstall anything, just use the new wallet from now on.
(Previous guldencoin131.exe can be deleted if you want (nothing else!), after you succeeded with 1.4.0)

Just use wallet 1.4.0 from now on

Just a reminder/note that it is really important that at least 50% of the network upgrade before the switchover block, preferably more or else we will have a problem on our hands Smiley
So if you have not yet upgraded please do so.

Updated my main wallet. Should I update all my wallets (for the 50%) or will later be ok too?

Thanks veertje.  The download went smoothly and my Guldencoins were there.

As an older guy I appreciate simple directions as I am not of the computer generation.  My feeling is that the more easy and uncomplicated you explain crypto procedures the more likely you will have individuals understand and use Guldencoin.  Simple is better.

Totally agree with you! Simple is best. Point of interest in the future of Guldencoin: simple communication and userfriendly.

Good that you asked the question. When it was my first time with wallet upgrade, I had the same questions.  Wink

I am DELTA compliant as of 10 minutes ago. Thank you guldencoin team for all your hard work, been following the progress of this closely and hope it performs well enough. I am not a miner but have experienced the painful transfer between long block times. Coins always arrived every time I sent them.

Hey Guys,

Just a post to say bittrex has been extremely busy with their latest update. Richie from Bittrex said guldencoin will be updated soon however in the event we get close to the transition and they haven't updated I will be asking Ryan from bittrex to shutdown guldencoin for trading until they have. I doubt it will come to this but needed to have this plan in place for a worst case scenerio.

Most of the pools have updated, bleutrade and litebit have also been updated.

The only 2 services which haven't updated that I know of is Bittrex and Comkort.
