And russia should be thankful if they get their debt back. 8% inflation according to the central bank...and those are official numbers...

What about the 8 previous rounds of talks, some of them openly sabotaged or abandoned by Kiev representatives?

By your logic my electricity provider should be thankful that I at all pay for the power at the end of each month...

No electricity provider comes with a tank to collect the bill...And that was my personal comment.

And again it's the EU  who asked for talks. The Ukrainians can do what they want , the EU is asking for the matter to be settled normally.

So did Russia, on multiple occasions, even before Kiev started moving tanks to the East. Russia offered several down payment and settlement options. My electricity company would have been much less lenient if I failed to pay, threw the phone down when they called to ask me to pay, shut the door in their faces when they called personally, all the while drawing power directly from the line in the street that goes by my house.  Cool

Good news for Gazprom!

http://www.skynews.com.au/business/business/world/2014/08/14/gazprom-boosts-european-exports-by-2-5-.html

In the first half of 2014, Gazprom exported a total of 80.8 billion cubic meters of gas to the EU, which is 2.5% higher than that in the 2013. This much natural gas is worth some $32 billion.

Ukraine started test-reception of reverse gas from Slovakia along the line Vojazh-Uzhgorod:

Testing with 2 million cubic meters per day.

It's like some ASIC miner makers "testing" their equipment before shipping it to customers.  Grin

Yup, this pretty much sums it up ^^

But even when this seams like a pressure to Ukraine and part of europe, its Russia's right to place prices as they seam fit.
You cant force someone to sell you something they own under the price they want, it would be blackmail.

To me it seams that Ukraine needs to shut up and pay the price, or find a new source for their gas needs.

Not exactly gas related, but:
Financial times did an analysis of the Ukrainian economy and projects that by 2018 it will have 87% of debt to BNP ratio, and the country is at a brink of default, when IMF (vultures) will move in the start "restructuring the debt". And something that I didn't know: Russia bought 3 billion dollars worth of Ukrainian obligations, trying to sustain Ukrainian economy during the last legitimate government. It may consider demanding them repaid if the situation deteriorates.

What's left to discuss? You state matter-of-factly that Ukraine owes Russia a debt, but it's all a blatant lie.
Yeah, nothing to discuss here

Yatsenjuk said yesterday that Ukraine is 5 billion cubic meter short to be able to survive the winter and to ensure transit to Europe. EU, Ukraine and Russia will try with tri-lateral talks:
http://en.itar-tass.com/economy/746781

In the meantime, Ukraine is switching to wood and grass. A furniture factory sells furniture for burning. While TV/media are full of commercials blaming Russia for stopping supplies of free gas and telling people to save fuel.

Gazprom just bought the company which would have done reverse gas supplies to Ukraine from Slovakia. Now if the EU wants reverse gas deliveries to Ukraine, then they will have to forcibly nationalize the company, which will be against their rules. Anyway, they won't be having enough gas to do the reverse supply, if Gazprom shuts down the gas delivery through Ukraine.  Grin

Putin's job sounds kind of shitty. It's fundamentally the same as a door-to-door salesman combined with telemarketer -- so like a one-man sales force. Every day, there's no more work more productive and important to Russia than cold-calling foreign leaders and trying to get them to sit down with him so he can try to sell them Russia's crazy reserves of natural gas.

-And now he's a debt collector because someone didn't pay their gas bill. Does he get to star in the commercials, at least? Tongue

In the meantime, some good news for the dollar  Tongue

http://en.ria.ru/business/20140827/192383783/Russias-Gazprom-Neft-to-Sell-Oil-For-Rubles-Yuan.html

Quote
The Russian oil company Gazprom Neft has agreed to export 80,000 tons of oil from Novoportovskoye field in the Arctic; it will accept payment in rubles, and will also deliver oil via the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline (ESPO), accepting payment in Chinese yuan for the transfers, the Russian business daily Kommersant reported Wednesday.

The Russian government and several of the country’s largest exporters have widely discussed the possibility of accepting payments in rubles for oil exports.

Last week, Russia began to ship oil from the Novoportovskoye field to Europe by sea. Two oil tankers are expected to arrive in Europe in September. According to Kommersant, the payment for these shipments will be received in rubles.

Ukraine must ensure gas transit to Europe - EU energy chief
http://rt.com/business/183596-ukraine-gas-novak-oettinger/

Quote
Russian-EU gas talks have progressed, but no solution was reached Friday over Russia and Ukraine’s gas standoff. Moscow says their $100 gas discount to Kiev stands, and the EU doesn’t want gas negotiations to be used to escalate the Ukraine crisis.

...

Russia again offered Kiev a $100 gas price discount, bringing the total price down to $385 per 1,000 cubic meters, a lower price it charges any of its European customers. However, before Gazprom can offer the discount, Kiev has to begin repaying their debt.

Ukraine must ensure gas transit to Europe - EU energy chief

Russian-EU gas talks have progressed, but no solution was reached Friday over Russia and Ukraine’s gas standoff. Moscow says their $100 gas discount to Kiev stands, and the EU doesn’t want gas negotiations to be used to escalate the Ukraine crisis.

Should have not pissed off Russia by blocking the energy flow.

Now that they have anger the dragon, there is only one outcome left.

The idiots in Kiev fail to understand that the NATO is using them as pawns against Russia. Look what happened with Georgia in 2008. The NATO asked Georgia to wage war against Russia. Once the Russians counter-attacked, the Georgians were left on their own, without any financial or technical support. The same will happen with Kiev.

Seeing as Saakashvili (who is on the wanted list in Georgia now) is an "advisor" to Kiev government, the Georgian scenario is to be expected.

Lukoil offloads 240 Ukraine gas stations to Austrian buyer
http://rt.com/business/176936-lukoil-sells-ukraine-gas-stations/

Quote
Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil will sell 100 percent of its Lukoil-Ukraine CFI operations to Austria’s AMIC Energy Management GmbH (AMIC). The sale follows a blockade and threats by Ukrainian nationalists.

“The sale of the filling-station network and petroleum tank farms in Ukraine to AMIC will help Lukoil optimize its asset structure and distribution-network management system in Eastern Europe, to which we attach great importance seeking to enhance the efficiency of our business in terms of petroleum-product sales," the company’s vice-president, Vadim Vorobyov, said in a press statement on Thursday.

Neo-nazi problem solved.  Grin
It's solved for Lukoil, but not for new owner.
