So the pool is profitable now?
It's hard to tell since variance is huge in low hash rate pools. With a block a month it should clear the costs of running the servers. The easiest way to tell the current direction of profit is to look on the statistics page and see if the Reserve value is going in the right direction.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Who will attack a small pool like us.
Some people just like to see pools crash I guess. Just a reminder that mining and viewing stats is available on backup1.mmpool.org and phkttm64gbquasaq.onion. The latter is the best option if possible since it's harder to DoS.

mmpool isn't the only one being attacked either - btcdig's been having issues as well. Last week I think F2Pool was being attacked. Good luck slaying the attacker - or just weathering the attack.

if you go to the backup you can access you member name . So if you were planning on withdrawing say the NMC you earned or the DEV you can still do so.

I will send you a pm. I can't mine with tor because I use nicehash rentals. But I did use the backup pool to with draw.

There was 5 minutes of downtime on the backup server while I addressed some load issues. I'm still working on getting the main server operational again.

still under attack, and bitcoin itself is under attack, someone is flooding the entire blockchain with dust tx.
i understand if f2 pool or slush get attacked they are larger players,
anyone who would attack mm pool is the lowest form of (human?) I can imagine.....
Maybe someday our civilization can rise above all the greed and other primitave conditions from which most people suffer............and i hope it happens since if we did we may make the world a much much better place.
Whoever is currently attacking mmpool I would appeal to you as a human being to reconsider your actions and while I am far from a religious person I do believe in scientific order in the universe.
The universe has a way of balancing the books over time.
Think about it and please stop the attack.

The DoS is now active on the backup pool server. Tor mining on http://phkttm64gbquasaq.onion still works. I'm working on bring another backup up. Those miners who wish to mine on this backup please PM me and I'll give you an address.

True! I think mmpool you should find a way to stop the ddos and protect from it before opening a new backup.

There isn't really a cost effective way to stop a determined DoS attacker. The pool is structured so that I can spin up mining backups pretty quickly so keeping the current backup private for people that have been mining regularly on the pool is the approach I'm taking for now. And there is always the tor address available for those that can mine through tor. We'll ride it out this way until I work out a better option.

Someone tried a social engineering attempt to access the pool via one of the providers I use. I got notification of it and are working with them to find out more. The attack was prevented though. It seems to be all happening today! So I guess the real answer to "Is the pool profitable" is no, not with all this drama and time!

i am starting to think the timing of this attack is in line with the attack on the bitcoin network itself right now that no one seems to want to acknowledge is going on.... ill try over tor / cooling off here can fire up a unit / was pretty warm a few days but my hash power is minimal , probably as likely to hit a block as hooking a dead nine volt battery up to the netowrk Someone tried a social engineering attempt to access the pool via one of the providers I use.
