i may jump in but hard for me to commit when,
if i am going to purchase hash power i price it really cheap so i don't know when and for how long it will turn on,
also with the network running close to estimated 700-800 petahash pools running 15-20 petshash are having a hard time hitting blocks ,
I never thought discussing terrahashes would feel like , outgunned , or kind of minimal but especially with the network increases in difficulty since say Oct or November to now it's really incredible.....
I wonder if someone has some technology developed for mining that is not yet 'for sale' , i.e. i would consider say an s7 to be about the best unit a normal person can buy right now but with the increases in hash power i wonder if one or more of the big players has somehow found a way to further optimize and speed things up,
i am far from an expert in circuit design but from what i have read i cannot in my mind imagine how you would get more speed than current technology unless you just add more and more mining units,
anyway , just wanted you guys to know that there are more than just a few of you who are out here and really want to hit a block
if the pool got to the point where it hit a block every few days even it would gain enough critical mass and popularity that i bet a lot of regulars would join and sustain it.....not sure how to get it there
hope everyone is enjoying the new year / cc
. This is a good pool. But if you want blocks we need 250th as our base number and 500 th as our bump up. In the last seven months we have two blocks. With normal luck if would have been 4 or 5. For my amount of hash I would have Thirty coins vs zero. Realistic thinking I can keep mining here for about twenty days. I will then need to rethink all my priorities. While I believe in smaller pools missing thirty coins is more then I want to do. I figure between this pool the compac stick club the spec thread give away and Jonny-bravo's pool I am over Thirty coins short. Oh well.

I agree with all that you say and I want to thank you and everyone else mining with mmpool for the efforts you've been putting in. I've been renting hash here and there too but missed this coordinated effort. It's unfortunate having two long blocks together like this. Here's hoping for an improved 2016. I'll be continuing to keep the pool operating and improve things as best I can. I got this in PM today - I'm working on the assumption it's fake, but providing notice here in case it causes downtime: You have 12 hours to send 1 Bitcoin to the following address, or your pool will become doomed.
....bitcoin address removed....
We will not DDoS or or attack you, but a member we know current works for Amazon AWS and we can quickly corrupt your entire EC2 deployment, and remove it fully.
Plus, we currently have a card on file for AWS and will be glad to spend it on buying a few Bitcoins.
We suggest you take warning and pay us or else.

I agree this pool it pretty epic and the ability to merge mine multiple coins is a really great feature that not many pools offer. The only problem is no one seems to care even though it may be one of the better pools available to people. Without a base of at least 200th I agree that this pool is pretty much doomed to go away and it will be truly unfortunate to see another small pool get swallowed by the giants. @philipma1957 Thirty coins is way too much of a burden for one person to have and without more support from the community I fear your effort may be for nothing. It would be interesting to get these three smaller pools to collaborate in some way to form a larger small pool

The variance trap is real ah not as bad as you think. I am going to run something at it later in the week as rentals are very high at nicehash right now. I am pointing gear at them.

We just need about 5 to 10 more people to throw a decent amount of hash and we are good. I have about 5th for the rest of the day will bump things up if we can get a few more people in on the action.

I have 50TH half a day on nicehash and 50TH full day on westhash. We have to be close to pushing the highest CDF the site has recorded, I can smell a block in the near future!

That's my bit done for now. For the curious the highest hash I got was 27% of difficulty. Just enough to solve a namecoin block, but a fair way off a bitcoin block.

I have the stat available on the backend but haven't exposed it yet. I'll be adding that in the next wave of updates - an all time best and a best for the round.
