Ozzke/Linux_Mintpal/John and Other PND Developers.

I am been facing some wired kind of problem. Ever since I upgraded my wallet to PND 3.0 I am having issues earning interest. Check the attachment.

http://imgur.com/QOZhhUq

I am running
PandaCoin version v3.0.0
PandaBank Hybrid
Wallet is not locked or encrypted.

No firewall or router blocking PandaBank. PandaBank was online all the time; just got ballon popped up intrest gained and right after 10-15 minutes it turned Question Mark?

I can send all TXID if you wish.

Please help!

Wondering is it just me, or others are facing this problem too

It's not just you. Try redownloading the blockchain. I'm currently waiting on the next interest to see if it helped or not.

I´ve had this happen once, it was when we switched over to PoS. ALOT of question marks (that are still question marks today). It's strange that you are getting this now, hope they help you out.

You won't be getting those interests as they were rejected. But don't worry, you haven't lost anything. As the stakes were rejected, the maturity of the coins isn't resetted so you'll get the interest eventually.

This questions why my stakes were rejected? There is reason behind every act. PND developers needs to investigate and answer appropriately.

Normally it would mean that someone just were faster than you submitting the block. Like with mining when you find a block but it gets rejected because someone found it just before you. Getting one rejected time to time is completely normal. The real question here is why you and I (and maybe others) are getting so many rejected.

Ever since the new version the difficulty has gone through the roof. There are a lot of factors that can have influence on this. Stability and speed of your internet for example. I personally had 1 rejected out of 30 since launch. It would help if you would copy your debuglug and upload on pastebin for example.
We will investigate this but it would also help if you would tell me which OS you are using.

And you didnt lose anything. You didnt lose any coinage or anything so you will still get the 2.5% per year. Rejected stakes happen all the time but yes you seem to get a lot now

Thanks Caze & Ozzke,

First of all I am happy to hear that difficulty has reach through roof. If you guys are telling I will earn my 2.5% interest doesn't matters how many stakes gets rejected.

Stake Reject issue resolved.

All others who are reading in reference. You and your PND coins and interest  are safe.

PandaCoin’s v3.0 Introduces Revolutionary New Blockchain Features

Version 3.0.0 Update

PND Buy PandaCoin's v3.0 Introduces Revolutionary New Blockchain FeaturesPND Buy PND-Buy-300x149PandaCoin

With its most recent v3.0.0 update, Pandacoin revealed that every PandaBank wallet will have a built-in “Lite” and “Hybrid” mode. The Lite mode requires no downloading of the blockchain, so your coins show up instantly and transactions can be made.

The Hybrid mode allows for the blockchain to download in under half an hour, as compared to days with other cryptos.

The total time of downloading the blockchain has dropped 5000% from previous versions, dropping it from 4 to 24 hours down to 5 to 15 minutes on average. The new update also features Instant Sync Technology, which allows users to see transactions and use their coins immediately. However, do note that when the wallet is in Lite mode, you cannot earn interest on your coins and are not helping secure the network.

Panda improves upon wallets by offering a fix for the lack of user-friendly features, such as the extremely extensive blockchain download and sync times. This helps give users a reason to keep coming back. Panda has a great set of focused developers, a multitude of pools, and great community backing that will allow it to excel and expand cryptocurrency to South Asian markets, and abroad!

I'm not a dev, but I'm running my Pandabank daemon on an arm (raspberry, 512M Ram version).
First, it took quite a while to compile, and needed some additional swap space. Second, the daemon itself requires quite some RAM to run.

You should probably check for yourself if your NAS can handle it, and please don't be disappointed if it doesn't. But do experiment.

If your NAS is configured to be reachable from the public internet, you should also take additional steps to secure your wallet.

Remember that both the configurations and the blockchain are stored in the user account's home directory, in .pandacoin
You should probably set
server=0
daemon=1

in the .conf file (can't remember the details, tho), so you can run the program in background.

Copy the program to /usr/bin
You start the daemon simply with
pandacoind

then, wait for it to sync. you can check the status with
pandacoind getinfo

When the block number has reached the current block, you can start staking with
pandacoind walletpassphrase <yourpasshere> 9999999 true

Remember to lock the wallet!

You can just copy your windows wallet.dat to linux; I had a strang equirk which showed different addresses for my accounts on windows and on linux, but I can recieve my pandas through both addresses, so that's ok.

Have fun!

Thanks for replying mtrycz. My NAS is slower than your Pi so I didn't continue with that. I compiled instead on my sheevaplug and managed to build it but I get "Pandacoin: Error loading blkindex.dat" when trying to start pandacoind

This is in my debug.log
Code:
ERROR: AddToBlockIndex() : Rejected by stake modifier checkpoint height=0, modifier=0x002c7ddc002c7ddc
ERROR: LoadBlockIndex() : genesis block not accepted
Pandacoin: Error loading blkindex.dat
Flush(false)
wallet.dat refcount=0
wallet.dat checkpoint
wallet.dat detach
wallet.dat closed
DBFlush(false) ended               7ms
StopNode()
Flushed 0 addresses to peers.dat  3ms
Flush(true)
DBFlush(true) ended               0ms
Pandacoin exited

Sheevaplug is a devkit with 1.2Ghz ARM CPU and 512MB of RAM. I increased the swap from 1GB to 2GB but still no go. It has no GPU and FPU, could be because of that? Any ideas?

Pandacoin Launches World’s First Hybrid Cryptocurrency Wallet News Article Coverage [By Yashu Golas - Forexminute]

"ForexMinute.com – Known for its no-nonsense distribution mechanism, Pandacoin is gradually making its presence felt among other leading digital currencies. This time, the Proof-of-Stake coin has added further stars to its merit by launching the world’s very first hybrid cryptocurrency wallet.

With the term ‘hybrid’, Pandacoin means to deliver a coin storage client that could easily switch to its lightweight version ‘Pandacoin Lite’. Its developing team has thus came up with ‘PandaBank Hybrid’, a storage client that could easily perform the aforementioned task, enabling users with limited bandwidth and storage restrictions to have a hassle-free experience..."

All Alt News - PandaCoin: Develops World’s First Hybrid Cryptocurrency Wallet - Inbuilt Lightweight Mode, Instant Sync Technology & Rapid Blockchain Download

"A spokesperson for Pandacoin explained, “We as a team had identified several user experience problems with the typical main storage of cryptocurrency clients that have yet to be addressed adequately. New users to any cryptocurrency should not need to wait for many hours and in Bitcoin’s case, sometimes even a week, for their wallet to download and synchronize with the blockchain, before being able to see and utilize their cryptocurrencies. Using lightweight clients is a possible solution to this problem, but not ideal for any Proof of Stake based cryptocurrencies, as users are then not participating in interest staking or helping to secure the network to prevent 51% attacks. However, we understand that some of our current and future users will have bandwidth and hard drive storage restrictions, so we are giving them the option to easily switch to ‘PandaBank Lite’ within the same client...”

Oh, I've read it 7 times and kinda get it now. It read it like it's the IST that enables you to stake with a lite wallet.

Anyway, here's my sync
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxsvR47fsyA
I delete the blockchain and it starts syncing at 0:10, and starts Veryfing at 2:35. It's just as if the computer's resources are the limit. Impressive!

I wasn't able to add music to it, but put this in the background

Really amazing videos, but kind of hard to see what's going on without proper narration. Also I would've gone with maybe some baroque music.
