Further update re @manelecrypto ("Denisa Raducu")

I just became Facebook friends with Denisa's manager via certain connections I have through some mutual friends in Bulgaria.  If Panda comes up with a good deal he might listen to the offer. Or not.  Good chance not but one has to try. Romanians are very allergic to anything that smells remotely like bullshit so real money (in dollars or Euros, not PND) has to be formally offered. Twitter is not to be mentioned. At that point negotiations begin. Do you guys have lawyers?  I won't burn my (very tenuous) connection with anything nebulous, vague or altcoinish.  I'm really into Panda but have holdings with other alts that might interested ... My profit comes if something like this works and the price of Pandacoin hits what Dogecoin was last year.  I don't want any payment from Panda but I would want an inside track re future developments so I can prepare my trades ...

Some responses re @manelecrypto:

1.) See this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=846866.0.  There's something authentic about it with the pictures of the books, etc.  Of course the usual Bitcointalk screamers show-up nervous "lowly" Panda stole a march on them.  And there are a few opportunists trying to use the thread to pump Panda.  I'm not innocent of the latter and have a few posts of that nature.  Bitcointalk is a BS fest especially in the root altcoin directory.  Why shouldn't Panda have a few pro-Panda types in there along with the Monero cultists?

2.) We can't completely dismiss the idea that it might really be her. As guys (which I assume 99% of us are on here) we naturally assume that girls, especially cutesy acting ones, aren't that smart and are especially not that smart concerning geeky stuff like altcoins.   We all know intellectually that that is crap.  I did some Google translate work on this "Denisa" and found out she graduated from Law School.  Singing gives her more money, the chance to travel and the chance to not be stuck in a cubicle. There is definitely more here than meets the eye.  And why not have a happy spokesperson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTWKgt-da3g?

[center/center]

3.) To Americans she doesn't seem A-list.  Well, I've looked at way too many Romanian music videos: the "look" the public their wants in their entertainers is a kind of early 1970s low end Vegas act kind of thing with big hair, heels too high, guys with pompadours, etc.  It is a different market.  That said, Denisa is all over their TV.  She is the equivalent of a "safe" white girl who sings rap, I think.  Her music style, called "Manele" is gypsy music and Romanians love gypsy music but hate actual gypsies. Some of her music is trying to escape the 80s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NndF2reheFg.  Some is just really different but brain catching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVQ_ONPF8cw.  With a little Hollywoodification she could do well in the States.

4.) If the whole thing is some kind of pump attempt it has failed spectacularly.  We're down to 5 sats.  I know the Panda philosophy is not care about "the price" but at some point the devs have to take action.  Trying to hire on a top level celebrity as spokesperson in a poor but Bitcoin loving country seems a good idea.  I was on her Facebook page and saw Denisa was really happy to have gotten a Volkswagon () and an iPhone 6 as gifts.  We wouldn't have to offer Madonna money to get her people's attention.

5.) As I said, if was official with a budget and a mandate in some kind of paper signed agreement I'd work on reaching out to her.  It would have to be something formal.  In that part of the world the casual way altcoin business and agreements are handled won't work.

Did anything ever happen with that Twitter girl @manelecrypto who said she was using Pandacoin in Romania to pay for taxis? That's a really interesting story that could be true.  Crypto-enthusiasts aren't all fat sweaty guys with erratic facial hair  ... Even if the Twitter account is fake she is definitely a real person and here's my idea:

In a country like Romania for $4 or $5000 US you can hire a major celebrity to be your spokesperson.  They'll come on TV, mention the product at concerts, interviews just everywhere.  They could be contracted to take videos of taxi drivers legitimately taking Panda, bartenders taking it, etc.  $5000 is around P230,000,000.  Not a little but not that much either for that kind of thing.  We'd have to pay in dollars or Euros.

Hiring her there would be like hiring Beyonnce over here. There's 20 million people in Romania.  Get a good number of them into Panda it will get into real news like CNN and wind up on the news over here.  This is publicity it would be impossible to buy stateside. Other than Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies haven't gotten into the mainsteam at all except for Dogecoin and maybe Panda if the taxi stuff is legit.

I wouldn't try to contact her through the Twitter account in-case it is just some lovelorn fan or a random lunatic.  Also, everything entertainers do has to go through their agent so even if it is her we wouldn't get far. I'd find her agent and do a legal deal.  The girl's name is slipping off my tongue I don't have to time to go through Twitter.

Anyway, I'd be willing to lead the charge on this if there was a guaranteed budget.  I wouldn't actually hold any money or take any money from Panda.  Rather if it worked out and a deal was struck then Panda would release the funds to her directly.

What's my end? Well, I'm a big Panda holder and something like this might make the price skyrocket when people dump out of scammy crap into something legitimate.

I really like your idea, so let's go with $4 instead of $5000.

I really don't think it's actually her behind that twitter account, but it seems like someone with some know how of recent crypto happenings, and someone who knows what PND is about. Also, have you looked into her youtube videos? Doesn't seem like an A-list celeb to me, but oh well, what do I know. Good idea, good thinking anyway.

I do like your idea. No, it is more accurate to say that I love it.

Sounds like you are pushing too hard, in my humble opinion. We may not need any of this. When we are available at 100,000 retailers and merchants, I scarcely think it will matter. And, you know "The TEAM" already has beaucoup promotional plans in place like they always do.

Minairia3:

It sounds like you are trying to scam the Pandacoin community out of money and information.

There is absolutely no proof that you are affiliated with this supposed celebrity, nor is there any proof that you have the ability to accept money on her behalf even if you were.

If you want the Pandacoin community to even begin considering any such "partnerships", there needs to be 100% irrefutable proof that the celebrity in question is actually interested, there has to be a contract drawn up, and agreements made in an official capacity. Even then, we would question the value of such an arrangement.

I suggest you stop pushing this "offer" and go back to making twitter posts and BCT posts on other threads as you have been doing.

I gotta agree with you on this, LMP. I originally thought it was a wonderful idea, but then it kinda' all went south. Like we were being set up for the kill, or some weirdness like that.

Well, we've been hearing about these always in the future promotional plans and the 100000 retailors for a while and at the same time the price is tumbling.  From a business perspective I'm uncertain how fhey plan to accomplish these goals on a limited budget. It would take a massive bomb of tech and promotion to get my corner dry cleaner's to use Panda for example.  The devs have delivered smooth elegant tech but on the business/promotional side they've so far failed.  Articles in the cryptopress don't count and those silly paid Yahoo press releases do nothing. This @manelecrypto has apparently done 1000 times more towards getting real people to use Panda. IconicExpert's semi-scam dying Bytecent coin has a strong promotional program. Pure scam but always rising Bitswift sends people to conferences, etc to spread their word. Just having cool tech and waiting for the masses to show-up will not work.

In addition to this:

It's good that you're coming up with idea's to promote Pandacoin and that you're thinking outside of the box.
However we can not support such a venture. First of all because of the reasons LMP mentioned + the fact that celeb endorsement really doesn't work as well as you might think. Lets say the deal would be 5000 USD, and 100 people actually start using PND, that's 50 USD per person to acquire. No company would go for that! (unless you're selling something that's worth a few 1000 obviously). We've read studies about it and for us it's a no go.

The community can start their own projects and we encourage that, but we don't encourage people to spend money on things like this or on advertising a nascar car. The cost is a lot higher than the reward. Also: you're giving money (or PND) to someone who you trust will do something good with it... but who you really know nothing about. Cryptoworld is the wild west, do your research and even then you have to be careful not to get scammed.

enlighten me: what kind of strong promotional program? his paid press release? his claim to be the first crypto on downloadsites? http://download.cnet.com/PandaBank/3000-2057_4-76174397.html (check date)
or his constant tweets pushing people to buy his coin and saying that it's urgent to buy because they are missing out (typical signs of a scammer)

You misunderstand ... I want no money. Other than Facebook I have no affiliation with Denisa. The idea would be to have a legal written formal signed agreement not something informal. Romania is an EU country: if someone signs a contract to perform services they can be taken to court if they do not perform those services. I do not post to Twitter.  I do post and on Bitcointalk and play the game to promote my investments and damage competition. That is how crypto is played for better or for worse.

What'd I tell ya? They've done their research!! Nobody's gonna be rich overnight. It's still VERY EARLY in "The Cryptoworld Wild West." I see the prices dive and I say, "time to take advantage and buy, buy, buy." It's not rocket science. Well, maybe it is. But, either way, patience is our main strength, IF we exercise it with passion.

Put it this way minairia3, if you want to support us, support us. If you or your "client" wants to make money off of Pandacoin, then you can invest, and then endorse us, and make money purely off of the success of your endorsement.

If that doesn't sound like a good plan to you, then you either don't have any confidence in the influence of said "endorsement", or you're merely posturing.

Support us as you wish, but such a business engagement has far less utility than the average individual might expect or claim.

Nice article but lost in the mass of media, promotion has to be a constant buzz. IE knows this but doesn't have the budget/ability to pull it off.

Just having cool tech and waiting for the masses to show-up will not work.

enlighten me: what kind of strong promotional program? his paid press release? his claim to be the first crypto on downloadsites? http://download.cnet.com/PandaBank/3000-2057_4-76174397.html (check date)
or his constant tweets pushing people to buy his coin and saying that it's urgent to buy because they are missing out (typical signs of a scammer)

That would work after a huge promotion or if the celeb was paid to make big deal of the tip. Most would have no idea what the tip, no idea how to deal with it and no interest in a few extra dollars.

Minairia3, you forget that celebrities are people too.

And you can drop the business proposition.

If you were truly providing a legitimate business proposition, you would have contacted the developers directly instead of attempting to pressure the community with your poor scare tactics.

the idea behind it is that their fans would see it and not that they would grab their coins. you would reach very much people with that. i don't say that this is great marketing, because it doesn't target a specific group, but it would help more than throwing 5k $ out of the window. and who knows, some celebs could really be interested in crypto and would check it out.

You're thinking in US terms where $5000 dollars buys you a 2AM AM radio ad on Sunday night from an E-list celebrity from the 1970s. In poorer countries getting the equivalent of Howard Stern to promote your product daily is within reach budgetwise.

Again. I am claiming no affiliations with anyone, just a desire to do the legwork assuming backing from the Panda organization. No funds would touch my hands.
