doublec: I thought you were turning off i0coin mining? It's been over a month since you made the announcement and it's still mining...
I adjusted the payout instead as suggested by someone here. On the site it says: 2012-08-18: I've reconsidered disabling i0coin mining and have re-enabled but with a higher fee. I'll adjust this fee to match the stale issues I'm seeing with that chain as I gather more data. In the meantime consider i0coins a 'bonus' produced by the pool which may stop or be resumed as I monitor the situation.
At the moment the pool isn't mining any of the alt coins as I announced here a couple of days ago while I track down a performance issue. I'm still paying out the alt chain PPS from pool reserves though. I'm hoping to re-enable them this weekend.

Pool had a couple of minutes downtime as I upgraded some software. The main improvement is adding the ability for miners to select their own difficulty level to mine at. It defaults to a difficulty of 1 but if you set your miners password to "d=8" you will mine at difficulty level 8. You can change "8" to any number. All PPS rewards will be multiplied by that value. It should be a non-decimal number. This will result in less submissions to the pool reducing bandwidth and improving performance.

Like the user selected diff (just like another pool). Don't think this works when mining via gpumax though...

There was a brief restart just now as merge mining of the alt chains was resumed. I'll be tracking the performance and hopefully it'll stick.

Cool, I think this is an important change for bitcoin mining. Also, my site is prettier.

I don't agree... yours just has a bunch more tables with an ugly bg colour... Bitparking is just standard black on white. simple, lightweight, doesn't hurt my eyes.

Haha, yes it is. I'm impressed with how your site shows all the important information so nicely and I rage at my inability to do pretty sites!

I have this page. The userid's are the first few characters of the sha256 hash of the miners username. Blocks themselves show at block origin or you can poll pool_history.txt.

doublec: So Vircurex has said they will stop trading i0Coins as of Oct 1, I wonder how many like me on the pool registered a Vircurex address to our usernames? Will you still be supporting it after this announcement?
Also, can I connect a miner that wants difficulty 1 work units and then another instance of a miner that wants difficulty 8 work units using the same username? I have GPU's on one miner and will have FPGA(and eventually ASICs) on another, it would be nice to be able to manage them separately.

i0coins will still be mined as long as the chain is stable. If you've got a vircurex address registered you'll need to register a new account on the pool to mine with new addresses before vircurex close the doors on the chain. I'll look at setting up a quick i0coin webwallet based on my exchange code over the weekend so those who don't want to run an i0coin client can register an address to store coins. Another option is to ask vircurex if they'll give you the private key for the i0coin deposit address you are using. Each registered username needs to mine at a specific difficulty. So if you want two miners mining at different difficulty levels you'll need to register two names. They can share the same payout addresses however. If you try mining at different difficulties with the same username you'll get errors returned.

Yeah, I think that's due to stales being counted as invalid rather than just rejected.

Does your mining give a reason for the rejects? The pool sends out a header explaining why it rejected the share,

Yes, I do see the reasons, which is handy. Most often I see something like Rejected (stale) or Rejected (upstream reports share from last block) or something along those lines. Once in a while I'll get a Rejected (duplicate hash).
I only have stale submission on because my backups do pay for stales, so if your pool goes down, I still get paid for stales on their pools. I have about 42 rejected for 2300 accepted, I think that's an acceptable ratio, no?
