That is correct. When you use stratum the long poll system is not used. All  notifications about new blocks are handle by the stratum protocol.

Does anyone have any clue whats going on with my cgminer? I don't have this problem on any other pool as far as I can tell and I've only had the problem since he added merge mining. I have to reboot all my systems now about twice a day. This is what I'm noticing in the cgminer window, may not be exact going by memory. I have cgminer 2.11.2.

GPU0 has been idle for 60 seconds declaring sick
thread 1 and 2 no longer exist
restarting thread 1 and 2

which it does on some gpu's every 15min-1hr or so until eventually it does this

thread 1 and 2 no longer exist
Error -6 Creating Command Queue
Failed to init thread 1

Merge mining is temporarily disabled while I investigate crashes with the merge mining daemons.

Edit: Merge mining reenabled.

Will you be keeping this pool open, or will it close with the exchanges?

It is remaining open. With the exchanges closed I can concentrate on making the pool better.

Since you have turned off IxCoin generation I find I am unable to withdraw the IxCoins that I have already earnt.

Will the withdrawal service be down until the IxCoin MM is re-enabled ?

With Vircurex disabling Ixcoin trading, I'll need to obtain some sort of Ixcoin wallet.

What do others use?  Right now, my Ixcoins are with DoubleC's pool or vircurex.

Any other options?

Coinbase for selling BTCs
Fold for spending BTCs
PM me with any questions on these sites/apps!  http://www.montybitcoin.com

or Vircurex for trading alt cryptocurrencies like DOGEs
CoinNinja for exploring the blockchain.

I use the Windows -qt client, downloaded from sourceforge - links from this site:  http://ixcoin.org/

Just keep it somewhere encrypted when you aren't actively using it.   Smiley

Maybe one day they will get around to updating it to the version that encrypts your wallet for you.

The pool reserves of ixcoin have dropped too low and I can't top it up until and exchange that offers ixcoin goes back online. The pool is still generating ixcoin so eventually it'll get high enough to process payments again, or I'll fund it when Vircurex is back.

Perhaps you didn't notice that Kumuala mentioned Vircurex will be discontinuing Ixcoin trading.

Are there any other options other than Vircurex?

I guess I'll need to figure out the client tonight, hehe.

Sorry, I have not read the whole thread. Does this pool share the tx fees with the miners?

No, it does not share the tx fees. The process of doing this is tricky for PPS pools that pay out before the block is found.

The ixcoin client is essentially the exact same thing as bitcoin's, except that's it hasn't been updated in, I dunno, a really long time.

Just make .ixcoin, ixcoin.conf, ixcoind getinfo, ixcoind listtransactions, etc, etc.

Yeah, perhaps doublec will create an ixcoin exchange given it is still "hobby" level investing rather than the crazy serious market cap that is PPC???

haha, did Vircurex/ enable Ixcoin trading again?  I didn't see a posting about it, but it seems back up & running.

Will it be shut off again soon?  Should I dump all my coins ASAP??? haha

I can not withdraw my ixcoins from http://mmpool.bitparking.com
I press the withdraw button but the coins still show up in the balance column.
