Would anyone have a use for a QR code for a newly generated account on the offline monero generator page ? I was thinking it'd be nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra work.
I think it'd be worth it.

I have not seen neither Fluffypony nor other core devs here for a long time. Does somebody know where they are? Is Monero developing process halted?

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commits/masterLatest bitcoin commits only 2 days ago - is it dead? Look at the context. Lots of things have been updated since the last Missive, but from what I hear fluffypony and other devs have just been too busy to put a Missive together and with good reason, they still have to make a living doing other things. Just because there are no formal updates doesn't mean work isn't being done. If you compile the most recent code from https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero.git you'll find all these new things working: - LMDB works for most systems
- Integrated address protocol with payment ID integrated into XMR address
- viewkey functionality working (watch only wallet)
Also: - Moneroaddress.org offline client side Javascript monero address generator

The actual home and official site is getmonero.org (including the forum). The presence here, reddit, twitter, etc. are secondary to engage with those communities. github is indeed where the development process occurs, not only on master but on various individual developers' forks. Browsing the commit lists and pull requests (open as well as closed) can give you a good idea of how the project continues to be very active..

I am not sure why people are still reluctant to move over to getmonero forum. It is so much better than bitcointalk. Some new users are attracted here, but they can also be reached from Reddit, Twitter etc. I think the more contact with potential new users the better, but we should not rely on bitcointalk as the primary focus point long term.

i don't see what's the advantages of moving discussions to a dedicated forum beside avoiding trolling/critics. A lot of people like me don't have enough time to afford browsing several crypto forums daily.

I really do not like the forum software on getmonero. Perhaps I'm just getting old, but the comment threads all seem to flow together and it's difficult to follow a conversation. And it says that I can just keep scrolling to see more posts, but that doesn't seem to happen. I mean, I can see all of the posts, but the notice seems to indicate some sort of Ajax/Javascript thing that loads more comments, and I don't see that. Again, this could very well be old age. That said, the signal to noise ratio is much better on the official forum.

I don't need yet another site to check. Plus the format is, umm (*puts on diplomatic hat*), not to my taste. And reddit is full of retards. This forum, the home of Satoshi, is the e-cash mothership. For better or worse; like it or not.

For better or worse; like it or not. ^^ This. I like the Monero Forum for resource gathering, but for interaction, I like HERE--it has more of a conversational feel, while the Monero....Why bother explaining; it's in the etymology. -forum (n.) mid-15c., " place of assembly in ancient Rome," from Latin forum "marketplace, open space, public place," apparently akin to foris, foras "out of doors, outside," from PIE root *dhwer- "door, doorway" (see door). Sense of "assembly, place for public discussion" first recorded 1680s. -talk (n.) late 15c., "speech, discourse, conversation," from talk (v.). Meaning " informal lecture or address" is from 1859. Meaning " a subject of gossip" is from 1620s (in talk of the town). Talk show first recorded 1965; talk radio is from 1985. -talk (v.) c. 1200, talken, probably a diminutive or frequentative form related to Middle English tale "story," and ultimately from the same source as tale, with rare English formative -k (compare hark from hear, stalk from steal, smirk from smile) and replacing that word as a verb. East Frisian has talken " to talk, chatter, whisper." Related: Talked; talking. To talk (something) up " discuss in order to promote" is from 1722.

Gents, let's please avoid furthering the senseless noise brought up by the Inquisitive Troll(TM). I understand there's places where discussion of the gracious BCN scam artistry is on-topic, just not here.

Re: Translation efforts. I have posted on the GetMonero forum volunteering towards a Portuguese translation. Would appreciate some help with understanding the translation framework or how to get started (if that's even a possibility at this stage). The much sought after Chinese translation (and whatever needed funding) could/should be coordinated there as well. Not to take away from the discussion and interest shown by members here though...

It's not so much the translation itself, though help will be most welcome when the time comes. I'm stuck at understanding the translation framework (if one is at all in place already, or perhaps planned for later on). The DASH guys say the same thing about Monero. What is it with you guys. Is DASH really that big of a threat? The way I see it, you both can co-exist.
