There are many ways one could implement messaging, but I don't favor storing p2p messages on the blockchain itself. ...
I haven't really looked into it, but I was under the impression that the messaging feature of duckdarkdigitalnote just used the mempool for transmitting the message, and then after a few days it fell out due to not enough fee or something (I thought you didn't have to pay a fee to message), kind of like bitmessage or something. Nevermind, I just opened the wallet and you definitely have to pay a fee to send a message, so I guess it is stored in the blockchain.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4gkxox/mycelium_new_wallet_announcement/Among others: Support for multiple currencies and digital assets. The new Mycelium app will support many more digital assets besides just Bitcoin. With the help of the plugin API architecture, anyone would be able to add support for any type of currency or asset, be it Litecoin, Doge, ColoredCoin, Ether, Factom, or personally issued assets like stocks, tickets, or hotel keys. We are uniquely positioned to have an advantage in this, because Mycelium already runs a set of highly optimized backend servers that handle and transfer digital assets. We plan to extend this backend architecture to support many more such assets.

Do clients at the moment relay txs with no or too low fee, and miners just won't include them in a block? I'm guessing no, but just curious if it would be possible to communicate via mempool without including things in blocks.

No, in fact if one node sends such a transaction it will be disconnected and eventually banned.

Just FYI, semiweekly = 2x / week. On the other hand, biweekly can be either 2x / week or every other week, but usually means every other week. Perhaps you could use "fortnightly" for an abundance of clarity. Moneros, which party holds ViewKey? Only the sender or also the receiver of funds? Or both?
All users have their own viewkey.

All users have their own viewkey. So the fund sender can uncover and identify the IP of the receiver by ViewKey?

All users have their own viewkey. So the fund sender can uncover and identify the IP of the receiver by ViewKey? The viewkey is completely unrelated to any IP address identification. If you are asking about the sender uncovering the receiver's address, then he already has it (he needs it to send funds in the first place). The receiver, on the other hand, cannot tell the sender's address, only that he received money from somewhere.

I see xmr is going down very very quickly. What is going on ? Probably because Dash got added to Btc-e and pornero not What a shock! I had no idea people still use BTC-E. Best trade I've ever made was selling my XPM on BTC-E and using the funds to buy XMR on Kozi's exchange (then later Polo), back when the two coins were at parity. I advised BTC-E to list XMR, long before Polo blew up thanks to the XMR-ETH wombo combo. They didn't listen, so Polo ate their lunch.
