Yea! Have no one know what "XC" stands for -- just another layer of its anonymity. I understand that you are upset your name want chosen but the general feeling within the community was that we should go with XC. The dev did what was right and went with the community feedback. ? I'm not upset. I am being serious up here ^ I like XC more than my suggestion. I was just throwing out ideas earlier. OK well in that case I'm happy and I see that we could actually use that as a marketing point. Either way my point still stands it seems like the dev is here to stay and listen to feedback.

I m disappointed the renaming has been decided without any further discussion. I would have recommended not to be so restricted about the naming of this gem and concentrate more on an open discussion without enforcing an early decision. But i couldn t even finish my post until it was done. A little too fast i think with a little too less consideration.
To my mind "XC" does well as an abbrevation but as a name it s not working. It s not fluent (how could it be without a vowel) and it would be a rather bumpy word in every conversation. Under marketing aspects this coin definitely has an unsexy name. If you don t care about marketing that might not appear to be a problem but a coin with this success story needs a professional branding. Everything else would be irresponsible.
Big problem: the X. If you stick to this letter you have a very limited choice as there are not that many words beginning with it, right now "Xeno" or "Xent" (oh no, reminds me of Cents so forget it ^^) comes to my mind but it still sounds that little bit too fierce because of the sharp "X". The other proposals, with all respect, sound as artificially constructed as mine because it s just hard to find a (compound) word with this capital letter.
I would have recommended to restart with new ideas, focus on the main features/benefits of this coin and find a fitting brand with no restrictions to its current naming.
We all are more and more getting the idea of how big this one could be. This one definitely would have needed a professional designer with a relevant skill set to ensure a proper brand identity. This premature decision might reflect the current rush but it might not be the best for the coin's future marketability and competitivness.

I would like to see it rebranded to PrivacyCoin
With symbol XPC. (X because that is the standard prefix for currencies + it keeps with what we have got).
PrivacyCoin Vs DarkCoin sounds much better. Any topic on reddit that has PrivacyCoin in the title, people will easily get the selling point straight away.

I couldn't disagree more. First, it was unanimous that people wanted XC, just look a the reaction when it was changed. This means that the dev made the right call and listened to the community. Second, I have no problem coming up with marketing ideas already. Also, people on Twitter have taken note of XC and like it. Anyways the change has been made , we need to move on and develop the community as well as get projects going.

The only problem with #XC on twitter is that you get a ton of cross country tweets.

And Dev, you really need to update the OP with coin supply. I've had to correct several people today in our IRC channel and on this thread under the impression that the total supply will be around 10m or 33m, when instead it is around 6-7m XC.
Thanks.

I like the name "XC". It is a simple and plain name, like "BTC". X-Coin is the best. X stands for mysterious, like every single transaction will be when sent to people. Mysterious transactions that can't be figured out Get ready for landing at 0.025/ $13 per coin.
