Namecoin requires aggressive marketing and listing on a large exchange.
But there is no marketing team in namecoin, there are only developers.
It would be great to have a big sponsor for Nmc.

Without a few genius developers like Biolizard89, this project would have been completely forgotten.

You should be able to buy from Coinex but may need a VPN.

And I really wish these devs would stop gaslighting us about why they've made no effort to get this coin listed onto a few more exchanges. Literally every single time I've ever brought this up I've never heard a truly logical explanation. Like I've heard excuses but never any good ones???

I really hope namecoin listing other major exchange.
If coinex suddenly close, namecoin can also disappear..

When I asked Jeremy about this issue, his development team said they were asked for money to list on the exchange.

In my opinion, Namecoin developers are mostly volunteers and lack the funds to list on the exchange....
Namecoin needs a big sponsor!

freiexchange, coinex has no trading volume, so trading there is risky. That's why binance listing is necessary.

Yes the volume is not great these days anywhere but the major advantage of using freiexchange is that your corn is super safe there and with whats coming down the line it will be this advantage that matters the most to peeple who leave their corn on an exchange  Smiley

After all these years how much impact have you managed to have on the trading volume at FreiExchange?

My own experience market-making on a small scale leads me to think that even just all by yourself you probably ought to have been able to have a noticeable impact, and of course if anyone thinks as you do, that is, that more volume is needed, and also acted upon that thought, between the lot of you you ought to have been able to build at least enough volume to adequately service one-another's trading-NMC needs.

Namecoin is one of the classic ancient grass-roots free-open-source crypto projects, instead of going begging to the venture capital community or whatever it seems to me to make sense to simply pull your weight as a member of the community, you might be surprised how much difference you can actually make...

Unfortunately I am currently already occupied on FreiExchange building the order-books for IXCoin and I0Coin so might be a while before I can jump in to help but in all these years I haven't looked yet at NMC but would expect it is already much higher volume there than IXCoin and I0Coin simply because it presumably has a more active community?

Hope that NMC will not be the next target for fraudsters after Luckycoin (LKY).
The coin had been mined for years being one of the oldest chains with more than 1.5 million blocks, and someone "revived" it and forked from the block 81,743 from 2013, under LKY original name and logo. Coinmarketcap updated LKY information with the fraud that left many miners and investors without their coins, being accumulated in 2014-2019.

Be careful, to avoid the same scenario.

Maybe it is worth from time to time releasing new node versions that include newer checkpoints, so that from time to time users can update their nodes to be immune to attempts to fork far far back in the timeline?

that could help only in case of relatively fair game, if all rules of crypto ethics are broken, and Coinmarketcap, pools, exchanges would list a NMC chain forked from the block in 2013, and delist current NMC, checkpoints in the delisted chain could only save the chain itself, but the chain would be not main one, and coins would be useless if pools and exchanges would prefer a "revived" chain, one from Coinmarketcap

That can't happen because unlike Lucky, Bells & Junk, Namecoin never died. So its literally an impossibility.

Coinmarketcap updated LKY information with the fraud that left many miners and investors without their coins, being accumulated in 2014-2019.

They were without their coins before, and they're without them now. So nothing changed for them. The New Luckycoin isn't the same thing as Old Luckycoin (nor Bells nor Junk). Its more like Old Lucky holders before block 81,743 got an "airdrop" of New Lucky.

If it is New Lucky, then it is incorrect to use the same name, symbol, logo and story.
To say nothing of taking over old Luckycoin web domains and editing old Coinmarketcap listing. If the coin is new, then it is incorrect that domains, story, name, logo are not new and the same one with original LKY, no matter died it or dormant.

AFAIK that's what CMC goes by: what the owner of the originally-linked domain says.

I realize we are now totally off-topic, but despite whatever any shit-for-brains on Twitter has to say, I had nothing to do with the LKY relaunch. I just thought it was cool that they attempted to integrate a piece of the old blockchain, which makes it inherently a more worthy "revival" than Bells. Then I learned New Lucky was forked from New Bells, which was forked from Dogecoin. So everything is totally ass backward, and you should feel bad if you buy any of this "revival" garbage.

Buy NMC instead. Its merge-mined with BTC, it has "NFTs", and it has a continuous on-chain history since 2010. Possibly most importantly its free from the shenanigans and lies of the walking trashbags that you take investment advice from.

There I made it on-topic again.
