It's nothing more than rebalancing, it's known as the "Pantoffelportfolio" here in Germay from "Finanztest". Because it's a passive strategy, it works for stupids too. This i believe all humans are simple minded, without any exception, fatuous as an earthworm.

The more a human believes in it's intelligence, the more stupid he is, because there is no absolute intelligence, rationality, wisdom, or strengh. Animals and plants are becoming more and more intelligent and rational over us over time, the end of this way is cruelty among humans.

The rules of rebalancing contradicts the rules of neoclassic economy in the way, that market price oscillation is leading to profits only. One profit with cheap buy, the other profit with expensive sell. The result is a deescalation of market price deflections. Better yet, the higher the deflections, the higher the profit above average. But if all people in this world do it, then there is no gain for any person any more. This is the human way of trading, open and free, and the greedy elites will try to break this community the neck. This can only happen, if we stay more greedy than them.

The neoclassic economy is not wrong, it's the escalating greedy I-economy or me-first-economy, with people who believe they are knowing, and could predict the market. The people playing this game want to get rich, but they loose all longterm for sure. Animals as apes can compete them, animals and plants are relative intelligent against greed:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/rickferri/2012/12/20/any-monkey-can-beat-the-market/

As earth worms leaders do not make sense. They are only for delegating theft to a more unscupulous person than oneself.

For rebalancing distribute your wealth over a set of non correlating assets, each asset having a budget (equates confidence) in % of all savings.  Rebalance from time to time, especially after an unexpected heavy market price deflection. Take your time, the longer you can wait, the higher is the profit, the greedy world is giving you its wealth by choice. Profit is not the goal, preservation is the goal. And never use credit, it's not allowed in a humane world!

Preserve this earth! Stay tuned!

At 0.00002000 1 BTC will buy 50,000 NMC or 0.23% of supply.
At 0.00000200 1 BTC will buy 500,000 NMC or 2.38% of supply.
At 0.00000020 1 BTC will buy 5,000,000 NMC or 23.8% of supply.
At 0.00000002 1 BTC will buy 50,000,000 NMC or 238% of supply.

Don't worry there is a price floor. I will buy it all at 2 satoshi.
This altcoin was successful and had a good value back in 2013, I don't think the price of 2 satoshis will touch it, I think the current price is very cheap, it's really cheap now, I just took another look at this old altcoin, what is this project still alive and still developing

The minimum price of the Namecoin was fixed Mar 18, 2020 (5 months ago) and amounted to $0,02967395
So anything can be ... but I hope to grow

The good thing about Namecoin mining is that is piggybacking on Bitcoin’s miners, something that was established in the beginnings as merged mining.
Indeed Namecoin gets mined for free via AuxPOW in parallel mode while mining SHA-256 encoded currencies such as BTC and BCH. This is the only reason why Namecoin has survived until today without any practical usage. The worst thing is that all browser plugins for accessing .bit websites don't work anymore after the server operators of the OpenNIC project decided to take down the Namecoin resolution within the regular ICANN domain namespace. So Namecoin is almost dead due to the cumulative incompetence of those, who claim to be the personification of Namecoin, see my statements on Telegram and Bitcointalk.

Hello, I am in Namecoin since some days, I find the Nameid and .bit stuff very interesting, but unfortunately there is not much user friendly setup/configuration for that. I am missing a less techy, but more easy walking thru document (examples that work). Especially the JSON stuff, for setting up and changing .bit domains or nameid's is confusing for me as newbie. I try since days to login to Nameid (registering with signing a message) but it just does not work at all. The Firefox add on can not be installed, due to broken add on (mozilla says) therefore it is also not available at the Mozilla official repository. That is all very frustrating for a newbie. I also registered a .bit site and want to resolve that from my regular dns homepage, but the JSON does not work and I can not find a easy How do (with examples that work). Frustrated! Maybe someone here knows any good setup/configuring Document to provide it here. Please.  Angry Sad Embarrassed Undecided Cry

Especially: How to get my id/name registered on https://nameid.org/?view=login (I signed 50 times no success (signmessage "address" "message") failure= invalid signature, but if i do verifymessage it says true......

How to get my https://homepage resolved to/with homepage.bit? I tried that: d/homepage {"ns":"homepage."} (i don`t have a static IP address). I tried more complex JSON as well, all did not work. And yes I have Namecoin Core running and ncdns dnssec trigger and I can resolve other .bit addresses.
Thank you for helping a newbie. At least things have to be easy, to attract more people. The Idea of uncensorable .bit domains and of Nameid is great, but if it is not accessable to the mass it is useless. Thanks!

As you can see you can't expect any support from the guys who claim to be the personification of Namecoin! Even the Namecoin Wiki got deleted because Jeremy Rand, who has taken over the website on namecoin.org, was of the opinion, that there woudn't be any usefull informations. So for NameID I recommend to ask domob, the author of the NameID-project. From which operating system you're accessing the Namecoin Core and what are the problems with the JSON code? You also can create and update your entries over the implemented console of the Namecoin Core without any JSON code, see the last version of the Namecoin Wiki out of the web archive. Alternatively you could use the last Core version 0.13.99 of Brandon Roberts with the additional name tab. There would even be his most recent version 0.15.99 from Nov. 2017, but unfortunately the binaries for the most common operating systems have never been compiled. As the last working DNS entries accessible over the browser plugins (until the shutdown of the .bit resolution through the OpenNIC project, see above) I used {"alias": "exampledomain.com."} as record on the blockchain. Please note the point after the top level domain.

Decided to dive back into Namecoin after years upon years of neglecting it. Anyone have a list of peers I can connect to? Namecoin Core is stuck in limbo at the moment and can't sync.

Crypto was created to liberate the individual. Decentralisation matters.

My recollection is that the NameID Firefox extension uses XPCOM (as opposed to WebExtensions) and therefore won't work in modern Firefox.  Alas, NameID is not getting a lot of maintenance at the moment, as the relevant developers are focusing on other things (e.g. Namecoin Core and .bit).  As usual, if an interested new developer would like to step up, it would be welcome.  (We have some ideas on how NameID's design could be improved.)

I also registered a .bit site and want to resolve that from my regular dns homepage, but the JSON does not work and I can not find a easy How do (with examples that work). Frustrated! Which documentation did you look at that you found confusing?

How to get my https://homepage resolved to/with homepage.bit? I tried that: d/homepage {"ns":"homepage."} (i don`t have a static IP address). I tried more complex JSON as well, all did not work. And yes I have Namecoin Core running and ncdns dnssec trigger and I can resolve other .bit addresses.

I don't see that value in "d/homepage" here.  Anyway, {"ns":"homepage."} means you've set your nameserver to "homepage.", which is presumably not a real nameserver.  Not sure why you'd expect that to work.  FWIW, Electrum-NMC has a quite nice GUI for constructing the JSON, which you might find useful.  (It's in the process of being ported to Namecoin Core as well; there should be a news post about that in the next week or so.)

Thank you for helping a newbie. At least things have to be easy, to attract more people. The Idea of uncensorable .bit domains and of Nameid is great, but if it is not accessable to the mass it is useless. Thanks!

Yep, no argument.  UX has been steadily improving over time (kudos to our excellent funders for enabling that), but there are certainly still improvements that can be made.

It's not particularly surprising that newcomers to cryptocurrency don't have much interest in Namecoin.  Namecoin is derived from the culture that permeated the Bitcoin community in 2010-2011, which was a culture that was here for the tech, not to make easy money.  Today's cryptocurrency culture doesn't look much like that (sadly), so Namecoin is of little interest to them.  On the other hand, there's plenty of interest in other areas, e.g. in the Tor community.  Even a bit of media coverage now and then.

Real cypherpunks don't worry about whatever market fads are en vogue now.  Cypherpunks write code.

It is very disappointing that no one needs coins that represent real technology ... people invest in DeFi without even thinking that in a month everyone will forget about these projects.

It's disappointing to some extent, yes.  But, there are upsides too: you generally don't need to worry about dealing with rampant scammers in the Namecoin community nearly as much as you do with Bitcoin, because scammers don't see Namecoin as an effective way to make money.  I really liked the Bitcoin community of 2011 (I first learned of Bitcoin in November 2010, and made my first Bitcoin purchase in early 2011).  Namecoin is a reminder that the culture of 2011 Bitcoin still lives on; perhaps that's one reason why I enjoy working on Namecoin so much.  (Sure, at some point we'll get big enough that rampant scammers will start invading, and that'll arguably be a good problem to have, but for now I'm quite happy with the community we have.)

A progress update on forward-porting the name inventory GUI to latest Namecoin Core: https://www.namecoin.org/2020/08/23/namecoin-core-name-list-gui.html
What Jeremy Rand alias biolizard89 forgot to mention is that he applied for and uses several public funds to get his work paid. Of course one won't find any declaration about the source and the height of the public funds at the website namecoin.org he's squatting on, creating the impression of volunteers of a non-profit-organization! Not to forget the support of the Namecoin Foundation. I wonder if he declares this kind of income at least in front of the tax office. And all this for a blockchain project which still hasn't any practical usage after 9 years of collaborative development, financed by a foundation and an undeclared, publicly unknown number of funds. Think about it the next time you visit the website at namecoin.org!

Namecoin.org isn't squatted.  It's clearly actively being used to promote the Namecoin project.  I think the website looks good.

How fucking tacky of you... Get a life and find something more productive to "wonder" about. Roll Eyes

If you don't like Namecoin, contribute code or don't use it.  If you don't like Namecoin.org, make Namecoin.io or whatever, but personally attacking someone that basically works for free on an open-source project that aims to help people is bullshit.

I recommend to start reading here! I wonder further if his local tax office would be interested getting a notice about suspected undeclared income of how many thousands?

You're in the wrong place for people to give a fuck about that.   Kiss

It just shows your pointless attack against him.  "Oooo I wonder if he got robbed by the government enough!?!"   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Regardless, thanks for the link, I'll read it.

I briefly skimmed it... I'm not worried about a central company (Malwarebytes) black balling .bits... being a freedom based project and getting blackballed by companies is just part of the game.

I'll read more tomorrow.

Edit: Trade Runner, I strongly disagree with your idea that people "need" to buy .bit from ICANN... the purpose of Namecoin was to avoid ICANN from my understanding.  Imagine if someone made "Namecoin" and it was just a Dogecoin clone... it wouldn't hurt this Namecoin and in fact, it may help!

You're thinking of how to bend in the system and Namecoin is the system.  You're trying to grow a nice branch, but these fellas are growing trees.  I hope that helps.

I also disagree with you attacking Biolizard for raising funds.  I applaud Biolizard for fighting the good fight... I don't imagine this has been easy for Bio, good job dude.

I've already mentioned what I think about your tax wonders.

Trade Runner, if something isn't secure.... it needs to be scrubbed.  Period.  Idk if it puts the whole show on hold.  It's a great thing to have a team willing to snuff their own project rather than get people fucked with it.

What can Namecoin do to get back securely?  Lets drop all this discord Trade_Runner and get back pointed in the right direction.
