OK for those having problems with the wallet, windows computers;

READ EVERYTHING BEFORE STARTING AND MAKE SURE YOU'RE COMFORTABLE TO DO IT' MISTAKE MIGHT COST YOU THE LOSS OF YOUR COINS !!

SAVE AND BACKUP YOUR wallet.dat !!!!

1- get the new wallet from the main page of this thread

2- find your 2 sync folders
        a- where the wallet executable  sits
        b- the one in Roaming folder

3- the one with the executable; sync-qt.exe you can get rid of it as it would be replaced with the new wallet --> erase

4- the other one: here's the path in windows 7 C:\Users\XX\AppData\Roaming You have to enable hidden files view  to see it
shortcut form another post:
 type that:            Start > Run > %appdata%\sync
In that folder You erase everything EXCEPT wallet.dat
DON'T EREASE YOUR wallet.dat !!!! that's where your coins are Wink

you should copy wallet.dat to multiple safe locations as a backup !!!!!

5- You open your newly downloaded wallet from the step 1

6- if it get stuck just restart, might take few restarts

7- if doesn't work make a sync.conf and not sync.conf.txt file in the folder from step 4, you might still need few restarts but this should work, sync.conf contents can be found on the first page of this thread

feel free to ask if you need assistance or correct if something is wrong in my post

SYNC Blockchain Bootstrap (Block 8266) - http://d-h.st/j8F

@jiwany - looks good, you should just be able to keep it named bootstrap.dat and it will load the blocks, but yeah if it goes wonky just rename it to blk001.dat

too slow because of what,  anybody knows why?

maybe difficulty issue for staking and finding blocks,

maybe not enough wallets,

maybe not enough wallets staking,

maybe code requirement limitations,

The DEV should be able to answer

I try to come up with comprehensive steps for noobs

Download latest Windows flavoured wallet from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!E5cjGQBa!C9PV10d7AUBgk1hWoaq3nenRRL24gV8TRk1pk9q15CI

Click Start > Run > %appdata%\sync
Delete everything except wallet.dat (and sync.conf if you already have that saved there)
Create a file called Sync.conf (note to windows noobs trying to create a new notepad file, in the explorer window drop down the tool menu, goto FOlder Options, goto View Tab, Uncheck Hide "extensions for known file types" - this is to make sure you don't create a sync.conf.txt file. You want Sync.conf)
Copy and paste below into sync.conf and save (I suggest to change user and pass to something else)

server=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=24240
addnode=107.170.124.180
addnode=162.243.214.192
addnode=192.241.240.216
addnode=107.170.159.98
addnode=23.226.225.224

Open up TCP port 24240 on your firewall and/or modem/router if you know how and want to be a node (I'm not going to teach you this one)

download the Bootstrap given by CodyF86 from http://d-h.st/cmS
Exract the contents into %appdata%\sync
rename the file bootstrap.dat to blk001.dat

Launch the wallet
unlock your wallet if you want to stake (or not)
wait for it to sync any extra blocks since block 8265
If it gets stuck, close the wallet, wait 2 minutes then relaunch. Repeat few times if needed.

You can skip downloading the bootstrap and sync from scratch if you wish.

Let me know if this is incorrect.

It can be an idea to remove Sync.conf at least until you have the first 8200 blocks downloaded. That did the trick for me.

*** Report Start ***

There is a concept of competitive analysis and as such I scanned X11 algo landscape. a not directly named coin has been created and it is causing quite a wave..

The features that stand out , and soon will be demanded by all crypto coins.. SYNC will very likely be in that group

Support for Anonymous Transactions
Blockchain v2.0 applications

That coin is EXPLODING in terms of market cap and it is only days old.. mentioning that to let you know you are in a very good company because dev here is aware of this tech and if implemented , the implementation will certainly work

And of course industry wide acknowledgement of X11 algorithm.. (there is X13 on the horizon but thats super niche' coins) miners for NVIDIA don't yet exists for X13, but it is good to be aware of them)

It is really Darkcoin and X11 and Anonymous Transactions that is re-exciting market place once again ... (followed up by SYNC with its gigantic GHS that has occurred)

ok i hope i covered everything now and people can just quote this from now on.

I try to come up with comprehensive steps for noobs

Download latest Windows flavoured wallet from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!E5cjGQBa!C9PV10d7AUBgk1hWoaq3nenRRL24gV8TRk1pk9q15CI

Click Start > Run > %appdata%\sync
Delete everything except wallet.dat (and sync.conf if you already have that saved there)
copy wallet.dat to multiple safe locations as a backup (Wallet.dat holds your coins, you don't want to lose this)
Create a file called Sync.conf (note to windows noobs trying to create a new notepad file, in the explorer window drop down the tool menu, goto Folder Options, goto View Tab, Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" - this is to make sure you don't create a sync.conf.txt file. You want Sync.conf)
Copy and paste below into sync.conf and save (I suggest to change user and pass to something else)

server=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=24240
addnode=107.170.124.180
addnode=162.243.214.192
addnode=192.241.240.216
addnode=107.170.159.98
addnode=23.226.225.224

Open up TCP port 24240 on your firewall and/or modem/router if you know how and want to be a node (I'm not going to teach you this one)

download the Bootstrap given by CodyF86 from http://d-h.st/j8F
Exract the contents into %appdata%\sync
rename the file bootstrap.dat to blk001.dat if you have problems, otherwise keep it as it is.

Launch the wallet

wait for it to sync any extra blocks since block 8266
If it gets stuck, close the wallet, wait 2 minutes then relaunch. Repeat few times if needed.

You can skip downloading the bootstrap and sync from scratch if you wish.

If you have problems syncing from scratch getting stuck after block 8200, try introducing sync.conf only after you reach block 8200.

Let me know if this is incorrect.

My coins aren't stuck, my wallet is synced, and I received my Mintpal withdrawal a few hours ago...sounds like problems with certain exchanges.

...And we just hit 2 blocks within like 30 minutes...soooo to the moon!

Fresh off the press the unnamed X11 coin (which is also base for SYNC coin) with the direction towards anonymous transactions riding on the new block chain 2.0 bus has reached Total Network Hash rate 138.1659Gh/s and going higher

Since POW was freed on SYNC , new target was found and massive attack is happening now against similar tech (with addition of features that we will have) but with much larger total max coins and longer POW... This is VERY good news for SYNC (alt coin market in general)

CryptoNight POW used in CryptoNote that also targets anonymous transactions market cap went into an overdrive, once obscure are put into spot light by people/market pressure to anonymize transaction trail

This is all good and applies to SYNC by proxy because elements of ZeroCoin have started to be incorporated and ahead of the market all lying under X11 algo umbrella
