Wow Sync is in Cryptsy now.... Smiley
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Hi,

  I have been day trading alts since January and have made a bot to do all my work.  I am not really interested in investing in any new coins as I already have too much in alts at the moment and not trading some of the more popular is also wasted money.

  This is what I am offering anyone interested.  If you loan me your coins (I only need about 1-2BTC worth) I will use them to trade and give you 35% of profits from the coins.  Yes I understand that there will be a lot of people saying that this is a scam and so on and so forth but I have a lot of backing.  In the poker community I have done hundred of thousands of dollars in transactions with a flawless record and am fairly well known.  I just do not wish to invest anymore BTCs in alts that I do not know enough about.  I have also borrowed with interest (and paid back fully) about 100 BTCs for trading purposes when the volume was about 20x what it is now.

  If anyone is interested please PM me, the three coins I currently am not trading that I would be looking for are the following:

CLOAK
XMR
SYNC

  So please PM me if interested, if you post in this coin thread I may miss your post.

  Thanks

Prolly a stupid question, but how can i see the total amount from my wallet in the block explorer?

one way is to run the console command "getaccount" and take the string it gives you instead of just the receiving address. It'll show you everything associated with that set of keys. Another, far more tedious way is to put in every address you've ever used and calculate the total Tongue

I'm sure there are better answers, that's just the two I know.

still not an answer how much sync do you own...you seem to be pumping this hard? Are you in or just trying to pump

He's been an avid fan and in the game from the day mining opened. I sat on the fence and lost out Tongue Well, not really. I made a profit on it, but I wish I'd held. No real regrets, I did ok, but sometimes the writing on the wall is hard to interpret.

My track record would have to be on poker forums.

Actually I wouldn't mind putting BTCs in escrow to someone we can agree on.

I do not want to invest in any new alts, I have more than enough.  The fact that I have money to do so doesn't mean that I should or would want to do it.

My wallet is not syncing.

Fresh install from github .zip on xubuntu.

App folder is .Sync and i've created sync.conf there with:

Quote
server=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=24240
addnode=23.226.225.224
addnode=107.170.10.33
addnode=80.240.140.149
addnode=86.1.252.20
addnode=90.217.94.252
addnode=207.12.89.92
addnode=162.243.157.49
addnode=128.199.189.163
addnode=162.243.103.7
addnode=128.199.187.204
addnode=95.85.31.58

This still didn't make the wallet to connect to the network.
Any ideas?

trying to open a port ?
AFAIK ports on xubuntu are open as soon an app wants to listen on them. I might be wrong tho.
I've noticed that when the wallet is running, the netstat -an | grep "LISTEN " shows listening on port 24241. Conf file has 24240 and changing it to 24241 brings no result.
Also i've deleted the wallet and reinstalled it (compiled? - linux newb here) with qmake "USE_UPNP=1" but the wallet is not syncing still.

Can anyone post a simple step by step guide regarding Sync wallet and conf file on xubuntu?

Ok, so why did someone pledge the domain names to the Sync Foundation? Well actually 50% of the domains?

Apparently, this must be explained, which is fine as there is a business lesson in it.

First off, let's remember that they get 50% of each sale.

Add to that the fact that they are very large Sync holders interested in long term asset value, diversification.

Now consider that they acquired most of their Sync near the very bottom and maybe you can start to see it more clearly. Try and put the percentages together and you'll get a good grasp. It's smart, almost brilliant, business.

In many ways, they are leveraging their assets to add value to another asset. Not to mention all the exposure these names are getting - which may just spark a domain sale while another valuable brand (Sync) is created, grown.

If you follow the domain industry at all, you understand that these are rare, valuable commodities - this decision was not made yesterday, nor was it done lightly. It was considered, analyzed, negotiated, closed.

Some incredibly bright and successful made a bet on Sync and so far, they were right. I'd suggest then if you are 'bright' and want to be 'successful', you should make the same bet, follow the smart money.

We call it the "Kitchen Sync Strategy."  Wink

Great thanks to the community. M.

I have the wallet running on ubuntu 12.04 for the multipool. Only thing you need to do is openining port 24241 for incomming and outgoing traffic!
Sync MUST be listing on port 24241 for getting blockupdates and staking. the rpcport 24240 is for internal us only
