Did the users on the mailing list get the pre-announce email a few days ago? I just want to confirm that it's working. I'm planning to send out the pfficial release email in about 8 - 10 hours.

cheers!

Yes, I got mine for the pool. I didn't sign up on the user one because I'm a pool OP. I was very happy to see that email, and I made the announcement on my pool in a timely manner.

New full node added on my server,
addnode=10.0.2.15

Let's make this one of the dns seeds after the upgrade.

10.0.2.15 is not a valid (internet routable) address. It's a private class A address similar to the more commonly known private class C addresses in the 192.168.0.0/16 range.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_IP_address
Could this be because it is installed on the same server as another casinocoin wallet ?

Do you use NAT? Maybe that's your internal address.
Yes, that is your internal address.

Is 10 days enough notification for a hard fork? This is not an emergency so make it more like 3 months Wink

3 more months?  lol, it's already been nearly 2 months - I think that's enough time for everyone to get their shit together.

The next crypto boom is imminent - the last thing we want is to get caught with lots of new investors and 3 million new coins being minted every month - enough to kill any rally we could possibly have.

I say we stick with the current date and plan - there's been more than enough rhetoric, debate and time for all the miners and pools to be notified.

Cheers!

Yea, I was kidding about the 3 months but...no matter how much time it took discussing the fork we should allow ample time for clients to update once it is released. It's not like everyone is waiting and checking for a new client...some go months without doing so...I know I have been guilty of this at times...we all take breaks from the crypto world to keep our sanity Wink

10 days IMO is aggressive and welcomes the condition of yet another blockchain. We could be faced with similar situation like that one exchange that did not update causing more discontent in Casinocoin.

Think the validity of the blockchain takes precedence over a reduced block reward.

Not a big deal to me either way...just cautioning based on observations.

It's not really 10 days.  Everyone has knows this was coming for nearly 2 months.  Updating to the new client is not rocket science for miners and especially pools.  I don't see what another 2 or 3 months accomplishes except more inflation and dilution.

If you haven't had enough time to buy or mine enough CSC then I'm sorry to hear it.  It's been dirt cheap this entire time and the volume has been plenty.

I really hope the devs continue with the planned timeline cause it was all done properly and with ample notice for all.

Cheers!

Hardfork happens today actually when the client goes out. The subsidy drop doesn't kick in for 10 days. Right now, everything is ready to go. I'm just waiting for Casinocoin to contact me for his changes to casinocoin.org and op.

The important thing is that cryptsy be updated initially since this is the prevailing exchange. The next critical is certainly Litebit and all the pools.

Anyone seen Casinocoin? I'm looking for him to make the page and op updates.

Building the osx client on lion with xcode 4.6.3 now. it's still going, so this is good. Found a few more problems like a missing contrib patch that should be added for homebrew support. Also looks like some of the compile docs need to be updated. Without the homebrew support patch from the litecoin src, casinocoin has 0 chance of compiling on osx. apple bastards

Patch that I need to add to src contrib section:
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/blob/master-0.8/contrib/homebrew/makefile.osx.patch

Don't worry if you already compiled off UAT, you don't need to recompile.

BTW, the initial seed is: 107.170.240.40:47950

As soon as this mac client is ready, I'll promote the src to master and add the compiled binaries to github. If possible, you guys can help with notifying cryptsy, etc. I will do the same as well and send the notification to the mailing list. As soon as casinocoin gets on, we'll have him update the op and the info site.

MANDATORY UPDATE TO v1.3.0.0 - HARDFORK OCCURRED AT BLOCK 546250

Ok folks. The master branch has been updated. I'm setting up the initial seed now at: 107.170.240.40:47950

I was able to compile a headless mac client, but it's a no go on the gui'ed version. Can anyone assist with this?

Casinocoin is compiling the windows client. This will be available shortly. Wink

Casinocoin,
Can you post the windows client? I've posted the ubuntu binary here on the release notification:
https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/releases/tag/1.3.0.0

The original post needs to be updated. Hardfork occurred at block 546250 to be specific. Everyone, please update your clients to 1.3.0 and reference the seed at:

addnode=107.170.240.40:47950

BTW, I just sent out the notifications to the mailing list. Cheers. Only remaining tasks are:

1.) post windows client (Casinocoin)
2.) post OSX client - Huh - we need to find someone to help us with this. It's proved horribly difficult.
3.) Update the OP with the info about the fork at 546250 and new version info (Casinocoin)
4.) Update casinocoin.org (Casinocoin)

BTW, since Casinocoin is not around to make the OP changes right now, I also posted a new thread announcing the fork:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=699548.0

Just so everyone knows, I've submitted two support tickets to cryptsy informing them of the fork and upgrade.

If anyone has any problems, syncing, etc - please send me a PM or post here. Just in case you find a bug, etc. In the event anything needs to be tweaked I can make a point release tomorrow etc.

EVERYONE - help us out and email your pools. Make sure they move to the new wallet! I don't want anyone griping about not being properly notified. If they didn't know, tell them to get on the mailing lists.

Additional nodes for potential syncing:
root@alpha01:~# casinocoind getpeerinfo | grep addr
        "addr" : "97.87.192.24:50376",
        "addr" : "148.251.70.194:42991",
        "addr" : "70.164.233.141:32892",
        "addr" : "70.168.69.116:59893",
        "addr" : "70.164.233.130:45965",

I picked these up from the seed, if you wish to trying them. Many likely belong to miners and pools.

When the windows 1.3.0 wallet is posted by casinocoin, you'll just need to download the client, stop the old one, and start the new one.

As long as casinocoin has updated the DNS seeds, you should start syncing, if it doesn't sync for some reason, you'll need to rescan your block database or simply delete the block db and restart the client to download a new chain.

Of course, make sure you backup your wallet.dat somewhere before you start messing with anything. Wink

Anyone think there's a chance that Project Pump is targeting CasinoCoin? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=634416.msg7906489#msg7906489

I've noticed someone buying 5k-10k coins 2-3 times a day (bumping the price up temporarily 5%-15%) for about the last 3 weeks. Now, they've announced a pump on Crypsty the day after our hardfork (posted 3 hours after the official hardfork announcement).

From their OP:

Quote
Coins are carefully picked, only coins with long term potential, good active devs and a nice supportive community.

On a side note, is this kind of thing good or bad for a coin? Or does it matter?
