I see that Clams is still in need of a central community hub and a charity foundation. I've been with this coin only for a few months but I have put a lot of faith into the coin and I am willing to do whatever I can do better the community and well-being of this coin.

I want to know the public's thoughts and opinions on the proposal of the creation of a central hub or community forum specifically for CLAMS and the development of a chairty orginization with the ability to donate using clams.

the coin is just amazing, but the installation status casts a shadow over the developers who created it. Why such complexity, of the new gcd not working. It turns out that while you're here to share intelligent thoughts of many will frighten a tired wallet.

What is the installation status?

He was in the process of merging a more recent release of the Bitcoin client into the CLAM repository, but it's a big job and I don't know whether it's in a state that is safe to release or not. You can find it in his github repository. It is quite possible that it is working fine, but I think it needs more testing before being released.

I searched and failed to find this. Would appreciate a pointer if you have one.

I was referring to the 'reindex' branch of https://github.com/l0rdicon/clams, but I see he has merged it to the main CLAM repository now. I've made a few small commits on top of it, here:

Is https://clamaddress.org/ still a valid site to use for a paper wallet for clam?

It's a site I put up a couple of years ago. It's basically a copy of bitaddress.org modified to work for CLAMs.

I've not updated it at all recently, so it is possible that it is missing bug fixes that have been applied to bitaddress.org since I made the copy.

Seamless. From bootstrap.dat. Started at 11:42, just checked back at 14:36 to find it fully synced. Nice work dooglus.

I have clams to claim from an electrum wallet and am having some issues getting them off. I tried importing the private keys manually but it didn't work. I tried uploading them to multibit classic to make a .key file but that gives me an error when I try to upload it

I've got 79 private keys to import is the issue, so 1 by one seems like it might take forever. If it even worked as it won't let me.

I have not set a passphrase yet, is that the issue?

Whenever the wallet is locked by passphrase, it can't import keys. IDK why you can't even import a single one that held a balance on the snapshot day.

The wallet shouldn't be locked then. When I am trying to import now, it just gives me a blank response, does that mean it worked?

If there were any Clams to be gained from a private key, there would be a blank response, and they would show up almost right away in your wallet, 1 transaction per balance-held-at-snapshot key.

Exported private key from Blockchain.info in WIF format

Put importprivkey xxxxxx into CLAM client console > enter > looks ok, blue icon with cross

No CLAMS

Recheck Clam address at just dice, clams still not dug


If I try Just Dice instead is it ok to use the auto allocated account or would it be advisable to set up a user/pass account?

I let it run for about 12 hours, it got upto about 7 peers, but never started to sync.  Something must be wrong with the blockchain I DL'd, or something.  Gonna have to give it another shot.

I highly recommend scanning your .dat with FreeBitcoins after digging fee free at Just-dice... this will insure that you've got all those hidden "change" wallets as well.

clamclient uses much of memory up to 765mb i guess due to excess clam address anyway to delete this
