Updated Clam Client

To speed things up downloaded the CLAM blockchain - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.7740

Checked btc address at Just-Dice > yes CLAMS waiting

Exported private key from Blockchain.info in WIF format

Put importprivkey xxxxxx into CLAM client console > enter > looks ok, blue icon with cross

No CLAMS

Recheck Clam address at just dice, clams still not dug

If I try Just Dice instead is it ok to use the auto allocated account or would it be advisable to set up a user/pass account?

try the importprivkey bitcoinkey then get clam address and check http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/CLAM/address.php if you have clam coin also check the particular block whereby you are to receive the clam coin then check you wallet to see if you synced up to the particular block to receive your clam

Anyone else getting large network usage?

CLAM seems to use more network that any client I have, often peaking around 2-3 Mbps
2GB in 6GB out in two days.

It sounds like you have forked peers stuck in a loop, so they just request the same blocks over, and over, and over. Common problem with coin clients. Are you using a reasonably current version? See if debug.log mentions anything like "leap backwards in height request" or "sync repeatedly leaping backwards to lower height". If not, try upgrading to a newer version which should ban peers that are looping.

My wallet is at "2 years and 8 weeks behind" from like 10 hours ago. Is that normal?

It will depend on your machine to some extent but I started a bootstrap re-sync 14 hours ago and I'm currently 1 year 17 weeks behind if that helps..

If the wallet seems to be stalled, try exiting then restarting. The client won't track more than 750 orphans - blocks that don't directly extend your local blockchain - which may happen if blocks arrive out of order. (This seems to be the norm for CLAM, for some reason.) Restarting the client clears those orphans from memory.

Syncing has been a long-time problem with the client, and as the blockchain grows it's only going to get worse.

You should set up a user name and password just to be safe.

I highly recommend scanning your .dat with FreeBitcoins after digging fee free at Just-dice... this will insure that you've got all those hidden "change" wallets as well.

https://freebitcoins.com/clamchecker/dig_wallet/  (this feature is now working again!)

Spoke to soon.

Shit is now broke again... will update asap!  Cry

Our CLAM wallet digger is now working again <3

from my recent past:
download the latest version of the wallet,
download the bootstrap file and throw it in the folder of the wallet,
download the latest node which is on the forum and throw them in a folder wallet.
To launch the wallet and loading a purse will happen quickly. Or do nothing from what is written, then sync will be a very long time
