Because of the condescending way the devs/PR guys responded to my factual statements about one of their team members robbing hundreds in the litecoin community of millions of dollars on lies. They defended him and told me I was crazy, had no proof, etc etc. Then the XC community dropped in to tell me I deserved to lose the money because I was greedy. Since then I've taken a keen interest in XC. I've been warning of the BlockNET but told I'm simply a fudster, etc. My posts are deleted even when they are on topic. Even now Teka is deleting them but not posting here. "Even when they're on topic" - You mean you're posting off-topic to try to damage the coin because of your asic issues - which as I think you've been told a gazillion times before are irrelevant to XC. Anyway I should stop feeding you. |

Don't walk. Run." Then I changed the title to be more friendly per Teka's request. And yes - I've posted PLENTY of things that had nothing to do with ASICs that have been on topic for XC. I have 700+ XC and I am not leaving, but it just doesn't look so good for XC at the moment.
It also doesn't look very good for other coins, but they are at least 100k+ still.
I will continue to support XC.

As a holder (and before we got FUD'ed again) we discussed the possibilities about using the premine.
General consensus among the people online then (2 hours ago) was that we just wait until Dan explains whats what.
Even if the premine was used until now, most of us dont care so much about him eating it (guy's has to eat right) but we would have liked to see more transparency.

the transparency story is now over, even if they come up with stuff they bought with the coins who assures you that this numbers are right? afterwards (months,weeks later) one can come up with any story and you have to eat it. The problem for me is that they told the investers that the premine will be used in an transparent way but this didn't happen. Synechist even mentioned before that the blockchain on it's own is transparent enough. The problem for me is that they told the investers that the premine will be used transparent but this didn't happen.
reputation is everything. if they lied about "going to be transparent" then when they offer to "be transparent" whoever believes a word they say is a flaming fucktarded moron. |

Ok so the devs posted the premine address for transparency 5 months ago but people only recently decided to check it after the coin's value started crippling? Well, if that really is the case, there's nothing else I can say about this situation other than, if it was a dev premine dump, thats not going to bode well. Also, what about those who ordered Tor sticks? Those things aren't exactly cheap. |

I can now give some clarity on the status of XC's premine:
- The premine has been completely spent since mid September.
- Dan has been part-funding XC's development since day one (XChat and the multipool, among other things), and funding it entirely since Rev 2.
- Dan will continue to fund XC's development, and so nothing about the source of the funding or the pace of development will change.
- Specifically, XC's funding comes from Dan's corporation, which has pioneered IP over RF in marine environments.
- The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.
- The premine was used exclusively for paying for XC's project - that is, for Teka and I to work, for websites, PR expenses, the ATM deal, etc.
XC is, and will continue to be, Dan's baby. He has personally invested over 1000 hours of his time into it.
Since it's been developed at his own expense for some time, you have good reason to believe that he won't just lose interest.
His personal stake is significant, and this serves to increase his commitment.

Thanks synechist, but it would have been nice to hear this from Dan himself. What incentive does Dan have to continue this project now? If Dan has no investment in XC, this project is now a loss for him. What incentive does he have to put money into a project that he will not get a return on his investment from (because he has no investment, other than his "reputation")? It's no wonder that he started doing a bunch of code reviews on scam coins ran by pump groups. And it's no wonder he has now "refocused" the direction of XC with blocknet. Good question. - The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.
This could have been confirmed when the wallet would have been managed in a transparent way. |

Dan's incentive is his conviction about the value of XC's tech. Add this to the resources he's sunk into XC, and you've got a keeper. |
