Hi all
I can now give some clarity on the status of XC's premine:
- The premine has been completely spent since mid September.
- Dan has been part-funding XC's development since day one (XChat and the multipool, among other things), and funding it entirely since Rev 2.
- Dan will continue to fund XC's development, and so nothing about the source of the funding or the pace of development will change.
- Specifically, XC's funding comes from Dan's corporation, which has pioneered IP over RF in marine environments.
- The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.
- The premine was used exclusively for paying for XC's project - that is, for Teka and I to work, for websites, PR expenses, the ATM deal, etc.
XC is, and will continue to be, Dan's baby. He has personally invested over 1000 hours of his time into it. Since it's been developed at his own expense for some time, you have good reason to believe that he won't just lose interest. His personal stake is significant, and this serves to increase his commitment.
You guys need a lot money for development , wow. I wonder how others develop their coin without all the money.

I do not think we've lost trust when *Dan has personally been funding XC*.
Do you get it? He's committed.
Dude. So let me get this straight. Dan needs to sell off all his XC stash to fund XC. But we aren't supposed to be worried because he's spending his personal money to fund it so he's still invested even though he'll make nothing if it's successful? If he had funding why undermine his own project by dumping all his XC stash? If he believed in XC why not use his own money to pay expenses and keep XC so it will benefit when he's finished? Why would he sell off all XC. So he has nothing to gain while he spends his personal funds to finish off a project he has nothing to gain by because he sold all of his XC? No, Dan buys XC regularly. His own personal stash is quite distinct from the premine - as it should be. The premine was for development.

None of the premine was dumped, ever.
It was not used to buy Blocknet tokens.
And I was not aware that the premine was spent by mid-Sept until today.
I apologise - again - for our not having maintained a list of our spending of it. As the person in charge of PR, I take personal responsibility for this. I was not aware of Pizpie's statement on Reddit (and I'm not sure I was part of the team then), but I was aware of the importance of being transparent about spending.
Anyway, moving forward, we've got funding and we've got Dan's deep commitment to XC.
All's well IMO.
Classic. You must be the only one here who thinks all is well. As the head of PR, perhaps you would be able to tell us if the marketing guru from Addidas is still on the team? Do we still have some amazing marketing to look forward to or not? Yes he's definitely still on the team. The timeline is unchanged, and the team is still working toward it. And the mainstream marketing will be awesome.

So we just assume this after he's dumped his entire premine that he's also spending a lot of personal money and take his word that he's buying in personally? When the only thing we can verify has been sold?
for the record the premine was never dumped, it was distributed as Arlyn indicated

This is really bad news, looks like the mystery dumpers were the hired help.. great.. Dan has always seemed like a great guy but I think he will find this decision and the lack of transparency to be a catastrophic error of judgement... very, very sad to see this...
Back in the day would I have bought on good news knowing I was probably helping the dumpers get out.. no way....
Also synechist, you do a great job and I often praised it but I had no idea you were on the payroll, ditto teka... this really does not sit well...
You don't think it's right that I get paid? BTW, "mystery dumpers were hired help"? I don't know what that means. I personally have not been dumping one bit. Whenever I've had rent to pay I'd plan ahead and sell in little amounts on an uptrend. Not saying you should Not be paid just had no idea you were.. it's almost like insider dealing in a sense X coin dev and inner circle selling should be disclosed... I cannot believe a single word about this approach was never mentioned.

Pff, if it wasnt for bitcoin taking a dive, this whole thing would't even be a problem; not using the premine, paying for work with it, selling to to pay rent or completely spending it all (because it would have lasted much longer).
Key point is that there is still progress
thanks for joining the "discussion" Dan

Some of the money(BTC) raised from the IPO, needs to go towards creating a base for XC. XC is in the main coin in blocknet even though it's decentralized, treat it as such.
that sounds fair for blocknet investors. use the money to buy up the personal coin of the blocknet dev

Do we still have some amazing marketing to look forward to or not? +1 "Do we still have some amazing marketing to look forward to or not?" This is the question I ask for 2 weeks. I think these price dumps are good moments to focus on that: 1) prepare xchange roadmap - when we want to get.. btc-e maybe? or bitcoinwisdom charts? 2) fund some money for marketing maybe 3) make more noise on social networks 4) make more noise on crypto newspapers 5) prepare user friendly how to's and tutorial videos 6) refresh the webpage look 7) build community, not only talk about money and tech buy some adds on coinmarketcap/exchanges Without people/community/engagment there's no bright future. Watch doge. Stupid coin? Maybe, but still stronger, not because of tech, but because of community. -- PS Sorry for complaining again

I went with my gut on this coin. Never really bothered much with alts before. Dan was open about who he was from the start, clearly he has skills. I still believe we have the best anon. Synechist wasn't always on the payroll. I was also pleased when I found out he was taking on his role (He always seemed like a decent ethical guy, and no one can deny he's good a keeping a cool head through everything that goes on) Can't say Im not worried, but I still have faith.

I cannot believe a single word about this approach was never mentioned. I consider my salary a private concern. Despite this, I've not kept the fact that I am paid for my work a secret; I've mentioned it here a couple of times. The idea that a salary is equivalent to insider dealing is absurd IMO. The really obvious question is: does anyone here seriously think I'd do 5 months of full time work for free?
