We should have a locked topic in the announcements section that is strictly for technical announcements, new wallets, app testing releases, partnerships, PR etc. That will give a quick overview to newcomers how active the development and PR is. We should also have an unlocked topic which is strictly moderated. After the ridiculous amount of FUD and dummy accounts being used to smear Dan, XC and Block this should be a no-brainer. People can (and have!) created unofficial discussion topics for XC which are unmoderated (and guess who flock to those, the trolls). What I suggest shouldn't be a problem. See peercoin: Announcement topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101820.0Locked topic only for updates: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114994.0Note - I have read little of the recent posts above me. this looks good and shouldn't be deleted. just open a new thread here in ann section with a coordinated account plus one update thread in the general section. if they allow it for peercoin we should be good. Suits me. I'm also open to the idea of community-created threads in the main Altcoins section. They can facilitate broader discussion and allow other people to discover XC (even if they're full of FUD).

Why do you make Dan Roam free with announcements if it is not sure that they will be delivered?
I noticed this pattern more than once. Can you coordinate your announcements and then stick with them and avoid any delays if possible?
It is getting annoying.

Dude, delays happen in software development all the 'effing time. Get over it. I happen to find your posts far more annoying than the fact that Dan said he'd release an updated TOR stick .ISO but hasn't yet. You're going to die at an early age if you stress out about things beyond your control like this. Breathe. Take a walk. Drink a beer.

No offense Dan

If Dan cannot deliver in time someone should say it not going mute. Everyone here knows that software delays happens Im not debating that im debating the way they manage their announcements lately. It does not look good from an external point of view.

I have a clarification from mprep about where to put threads:
"The ANN should serve as a place for official general discussion, rather than another thread."

so be it , but open a new one with your shared XCurrency account to make your lives easier and take the ban burden from teka. and if you wanna do it in style shoot some little news or update with it. just my opinion. you hinted at some business related stuff for example.

And since this is still unanswered, I'll repost it again. What's the current situation with XC TORSTICK Iso's? Updated version was supposed to be posted on 3.11.2014, but there was no announcement or anything else submitted about the delay which we are currently seeing. Torsticks should be shipping this week? id like to see an answer also.

Is XC's timeline in the OP correct? Specifically the yellow dot milestones? It currently implies that the X-bridge protocol and blocknet decentralised exchange will be developed before rev3 is released. I'd appreciate some clarification on this. Thanks.

Hi all. Fairly new to this. Does the ITO have a date?
Q1 2015 was the estimation someone announced. I have a clarification from mprep about where to put threads:
"The ANN should serve as a place for official general discussion, rather than another thread."
That's silly. An ANN isn't really an ANN if people are using it for daily discussion. To all, I really think this place is falling behind the times. I know it's still the first stop for a lot of folks first getting their feet wet in crypto, but it's time to recognize that this forum just doesn't provide an environment for alt coins to thrive and start thinking of ways to move beyond this place. The argument for not doing so is always that 'this place gets all the traffic, no one ever uses the XC IRC or XCTalk forum.' It cannot be denied that there is some truth to that. I've sat in IRC with no one talking, I've seen how little activity is on the XCTalk forums. But here's what that says to me: The number of people who actually give a shit about XC for the purposes of following its tech development is smaller than this place would have you believe. The increased amount of traffic that we get here are either trolls or people coming here looking for news so that they can speculate and trade for more BTC or get their jollies off when they see their 'estimated BTC value' rise. It's all about the BTC here. BTC is great and it's valuable right now, but if you are into alts you should also consider that this whole thing is about best positioning yourself within the whole crypto landscape. Blockchain tech is here to stay and it's not just about BTC anymore. I guess maybe it'd behoove the team to think of what kind of environment or platform best fits the overall goals of this project. I think it's become clear what kind of environment or platform this place has become.

It's people who worry and complain about every little detail that makes my day a drag. You have no idea how much time it takes away from getting productive stuff done. Unfortunately you whine a lot. And it does no good to XC: it saps our energy, it creates "issues" out of nothing, and it makes the thread tedious to read for everyone. There is consensus here that the things you perceive as "issues" are just not issues - or at least issues so insignificant that they're not worth bothering about. So please just chill out, be patient, and let us do our work.
