We can appoint a willing CLK member to moderate the thread for Or alongside Dagger, to alleviate him from this tedious job so he can focus on working with the DEVs/announcements.  A neutral member that can delete what is deemed hateful and/or FUD.  Legitimate inquiries and concerns are permitted but we have to face the fact that some useless kids will try as much as they can to fill this thread with poison.

Closing the thread will be a mistake.  It was one of BC's biggest mistakes.  Do not let them feel like they won the propaganda war, we are 700+ pages.

This board is an outlet for everyone, not just the trolls. To close it will also silence any people whom support Cloak and sent the wrong message that the Cloak community cannot take criticism however petty and maybe has something to hide. Also closing it would just let another one take its place with maybe less than good intentions and all the coverage.

Agreed, leave it open and moderate the fud. It's a simple solution and no one can complain on this approach given the endless posts by users attempting to damage this coin for their own means.

It's children or exceptionally dumb people that are doing it, so treat them like idiots

It's not about closing the thread or leaving it open, it's about boycotting a platform that is counter-productive to crypto growth. I've sent multiple high net worth investors to bitcointalk and all of them came to the same conclusion: this place is a joke. It's no wonder ALTcrypto is having issues finding new money.. This is the first place they come and the first impression is an immature community not ready for high dollar investment or commercial applications.

A general boycott of Bitcointalk's altcoin section by the leading altcoins would make a huge statement: Altcoin is ready for mainstream adoption. The only people that would lose are the FUDtrolls. If the altcoin section of bitcointalk dies, the FUDtrolls lose their platform. If Bitcointalk's mods cared about the altcoin space we wouldn't be having this discussion. All they care about is Bitcoin and Ad revenue. There is a stark difference between the BTC side of Bitcointalk and the ALTcoin side of it.

Bitcointalk's altcoin section should remain the joke that it is: a platform for clones and searchandreplace developers. Imagine if the Bitcoin section of BTCtalk had the same community.. Bitcoin would be worth $10 because no serious investor or company would consider adopting it.

All you have to do is look at www.9gag.com and www.4chan.org, then take a look at the typical ALTcoin thread. Tell me if you see a difference in the content.

Going to agree with you. This is not how big money conducts itself.

I agree with Coolstoryteller. I mean, what is the point of this thread? Answer: Announcing news about Cloak. Do people see consecutive announcements if they have to scroll through 50 pages? No, they don´t. People argue that it is good to have 700 pages. The only positive thing about the massive posting is, that the headline is visible in the Altcoin section, which is assumed to add some buzz. I understand that this is somehow valuable but once people check into the discussions they see a sea of shit.

Those who are against closing the thread: What sense has a thread with 700 pages? Noone but nerds read the whole thread which means on the other hand that most of the thread is just lost information (including those post that we assume to be valuable). Everyone knows that in one thread there is usually no real discussion once more than a few people are involved. Cloaktalk is a much better place to have discussions. I don´t see why people need this thread then. Even those who seriously want to claim scams have a place on cloaktalk.

Most of what I see here doesn´t help anyone but the people who want to spread FUD. It´s also funny that people like SkyValeey appear to be interested in the fate of Cloak once it comes to reserving the thread to information only. Kinda ironic, isnt it?

I agree, it would be a bad move. No matter how childish the behaviour of the fudders is, the fact is that the majority of all of you here found CLOAK through this thread and that is also how most of future CLOAK investors will find it.Closing it now will leave prevent growth.

The fudders will keep up fudding around with some other coin, but they will have achieved their goal - CLOAK will no longer be visible to new investors.

Start moderating the thread and problem is solved.

Need to be careful not to ostracise some of the market, seriously the coin is not exclusive to serious investors just yet, its still an alt coin. A good moderator on this thread would have made the world of a difference, it's just too much to ask the devs to do this.

I also think it's reactionary to close down the thread based on a few jerks who have appeared in the last couple of weeks, I've found a lot of great info about cloak here and prefer the format to the cloakcoin forum.

Why not start talking about CLOAK instead of locking this thread? What can we do to help promote CLOAK to a broader public? What can we do spread the word?

LOL so true. and yes i responded with the only sensible thing to say, which is that when blackcoin decided to close their 2500+ page thread, the fudders started their own "official" threads, which looked very convincing, except all facts were replaced with very "official sounding" lies. cryptodarkknight agreed, case closed. that was like 8 pages ago.

so to not continue this mess i'm CHANGING THE FUCKING SUBJECT:

What's the official word on block escrow development?

has anyone yet been able to break PoSA?

has anyone tried to search back through a PoSA transaction to see if 2 addresses can be linked in a transaction?

PoSA has been out for a week now, so what have you all been doing with it? (other than short-sighted daytraders dumping it?)

Anyone actually do any PoSA transactions?

It would be GREAT if someone would post address sent from and receiving address...

Let's start there...

As far as I know noone has been able to show that PoSA is not working as announced by the developers. This is a good thing.

Nobody is talking about deleting the thread. We're talking about moving the cloak discussion from bitcointalk to cloaktalk. Why the would anyone think that having one thread for a cryptocurrency would help it grow? Imagine if bitcointalk's BTC side had one thread for it..  The only purpose bitcointalk serves is lead generation. All future cloakupdates will be made from cloaktalk. Dagger will update here with a link back to cloaktalk.

This place is a shitshow. If crytpo is the next generation of money why is the forum platform still stuck in 1999? Cloaktalk supports mobile, embedded videos, sound, instant messages, private threads and all the updates are made in real-time, so you don't need to refresh the browser. Sifting through 800 pages to find relative information is pointless and time consuming. People want to find information fast.

The page counts here are supposed the guage the communty's interest in the project but the majority of these threads are gifs and memes. The only purpose of bitcointalk's alt section is lead generation. If you think crypto will ever be taking seriously while this remains the hub for ALTcrypto you need to have your head examined.

yes.. after spending some time on the Cloaktalk forum, i found that i prefer their format much more! (everything is real-time, no refresh!)
http://www.cloaktalk.org/

surprised to read someone say they "prefer the format [of this forum] to the cloakcoin forum"

this forum is the stone-age, and full of trolls ...
