A bit off topic, but does anyone know how to spot fake volume? What are the signs? I mean fake volume in the sence when people buy and sell coins to themselves to make it look like its being traded more than it really is. Thanks.

I'd like to know thoughts on this too. I don't see it being too far off topic[since it may be happening] but it might make a nice topic of its own.

It really depends. High volume market or not. Do they do random large buys or a constant small orders. Does the coin have high volume or not.

Right now if a coin on Bittrex is in the hundreds of btc volume range I'm pretty sure a lot of it is fake. SDC for example went from 1k to 40k in a short amount of time. Only way to do that is buy your own orders to give people the impression there is demand. Then the whale sets their buy orders for support and new people add their buy orders above it and the whale(s) dump for 30x profit.

Sometimes you can look in the market history and see 10btc buy or sell randomly. Most likely their own.

Sometimes you see in the chart that someone was buying / selling all day which is most likely a bot buying own orders to get people to either dump or buy their orders through out the day.

Other people will have other thoughts. Just watch the orderbooks and if you see something that makes you go why the fuck would someone do that or you wonder why a large order just popped up and got bought or sold into right away then it's their own.

If one were to look at the theo board on trex there may be a good example of this type of 'marketing' lol. Segments 11:20-11:29 and 12:40-12:49.

Just sent 1 CLOAK via PoSA to C3EcT3gFbyJ832MeVRgBDbMJZHsPCLbcJZ from C5VcA4rnvxSab4AaZL3PpEsH4W919UTAzb

If anyone would like to trace the transaction on the blockexplorer, that would be cool. I've got to go to work - will check back later.

Details: The transaction list in my wallet sent the following amounts to the following addresses:

CAGVC1jLHqMQQD5u9FkaSMDoy8JhMGuwyR - 1.07 (1.02 + 0.05 fee)
Bs8Haw3zVzXvNfmCzDz9eksQ9S3vdjuk8y - 0.01
C2XZNiCSCZiSrg73oKixEMG9CSfoTBafkf - 0.01
Bs8Haw3nAsWf5hufouF1qSQShY8YUVA4aj - 0.01

1 of 4 confirmations currently.

Has anyone been able to link sender and receiver for this transaction?

At this point its well established that the coin is "functional".

However, the entire FUD fest is directly due to a lack of transparency in the development of the coin. there is absolutely no way to know what is going on until a technical paper is published and an independent audit is done. It is therefore incredibly cheap to manipulate the price. There cant be much volume when the devs scare people with ideas that there coins arent 100% secure even if they are. (regarding potential bad nodes in posa tx, however improbable).

There also should be something to say for the lack of updates due to insider knowledge of this coin actually working as advertised. It benefits the Developer and insider Investor(s) far more to accumulate if they can and continue working on a more polished end result.

Cloak urgently needs to get on board this (together with the release of onemarket asap...) >>

- Worldwide chain of ATM's where u can pick your onemarket earnings entirely in FIAT.  What the taxman doesn't know, he can't squeeze out of you!

Considering the fact (well, it is my interpretation of the situation) that a single day seem to equal a week in the non-crypto world, three days without any news from devs is a long time and adding the weekend to it, the cheap price of CLOAK is not difficult to understand, even though the devs have fulfilled all promises...

Now is the time to work to spread the word that we have a verified working CLOAK and that right now, it is pretty cheap.

Here's from one of the other devs just a little bit ago.
[16:35] <@MrRGnome> Hey guys, I'm just dropping in really quick before getting back to work. The dev team is really busy, it seems the protocol is being audited and everyone is firing on all cylinders working with the auditor to help them get the job done.

Even if the price somehow manages to recover, it will never even get to 50% of the ATH. This dump really left a terrible mark.

Gotta to say i think they need to release something soon as the market is not convinced. The sooner the better. Everyday we are seeing 10-15% drop. Doesn't look good.
