BTW, the other day someone posted a huge dumped during/after the SC2 tournament, wasn't it the prize money being converted to USD (MIN -> BTC -> USD) ?

no one in sc2 dumped. so dont assume. in fact. half the minerals were kept and no exchanged.

Actually I dumped a bit of my minerals. Needed some liquid btc to buy some stuff. Still holding plenty of minerals thouh.

I dumped 1btc in minerals a day before the tournament. I am still holding around 400k and I have no intention to dump them. I just wanted to buy some stuff via silkroad and my other coins were in the process of moving up. Look at my history. I posted in this thread a lot.

Hey guys,

I think betting & crypto is starting to heat up!

As usually, as there's only "reality" garbage on TV and the news only shows poverty, misery and suffering of innocents caused by sick psychopath politicians and banksters (Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Gaza, Islamic State, Mali,...) with corpses and bombs falling on everything, I try to look up more interesting and informative things on Youtube.

So I came across today's Keiser Report (but that's thx to Twitter) and the second part of the episode is about gambling and crypto currency and how the Isle of Man wants to be a trendsetter in that market.

You can watch it here (skip the first half if you don't like the topics Stacy brings up) >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0uF9lriRYY

And then, there was this documentary about South Korea. It gives a small hint on how big e-Sports is over there, just a short interview/comment. It starts around the 37th minute >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqb5DdMnbPA

I think that once the redesign and/or anon (whatever you guys decide Smiley) is done, it might be time to think about public relations and marketing.

I don't expect us to hire marketing professionals, but we might be able to come up with a nice information booklet or poster/flyer. A promo video? Maybe someone in here has a degree in computer science/design/user interfacing and can work on a proposition or mock-ups for easy to install and easy to use wallet? From what I saw on the chat during the invitational, quite a lot of people had issues with the installation, finding their addresses, the long time to sync and things like that. I can all be improved, so no one gives up on using Minerals (there was one like that on Monday in the chat). And yes, for some people installing something that's not coming out of an "App Store" is quite a challenge.

Any native Koreans here? They might want to translate the wallet and website (official and betting service) and attract South-Korean gamers? Don't aim for the stars, but get us known with the casual gamers. They'll spread the information about Minerals quick enough if it's easy to use and acquire.

Maybe someone knows Moolah personally on IRC? Negotiating for a fiat<->minerals slot, which could be included in the wallet using the API/QT's built-in web-engine)

I'm more than willing to help out with these thing, but I need lots of time for getting back up-to-date if not learn from scratch again first. I studied computer science, graduated in 2003 but never got a real IT job (lots of IT companies closing and massive layoffs) and went back to uni (Japanese/economics) and even now, do things complete unrelated to my studies (airline/finance).

Anyway... just tell me if I'm ranting or lost my connection to reality Cheesy
I don't think you are ranting. Translating the website is a very good idea, translating the wallet is an awesome one. Has it ever been done or all the crypto wallets are plain English? I can help with the translation in Romanian and Deutsch, maybe even Spanish. MineralsPR, do you think a Multilanguage installer is feasible?

Also, everybody, please don’t get down about the price, we have achieved a first in the crypto with the tournament, but this kind of effort needs to be sustained, not forgotten. What I’m saying is that we are on the right track, we just need to persevere in what we did first, meaning tournaments should be on a weekly basis. The price will follow, I assure you.

And about anonymity, you know it does not exist, right? True transaction anonymity is impossible as long as the transaction is completed between people with physical hard disk computers and the Internet as intermediary. The internet never forgets, nor does your hard drive. You cannot claim a transaction has never happened, but only pretend it never did. Masking a transaction does not make it anonymous, it just makes it harder for the scratcher to find it, do not be fooled by false claims.

Focusing on what you did good and trying to improve it should be your main priority, but by all means if the crowd has spoken please listen to them, give them the pseudoanonimity they have been raving about. No, really, pleasing the crowd will help you get your credibility and support in whatever you desire to do next with the coin. It’s like in Hollywood, Nolan makes a film for himself and then one for the studios.

Well actually the wallet autodetects windows language (or I assume whatever OS you are on) and changes it. In the settings you can choose among the languages proposed.

It's interesting how many people are interested in minerals. Always get the most retweets when I mention it. Lots of people watching to see where this coin is going. I'll invest 5 % of my profits every week in buying minerals starting this sunday. Roughly 0.3 btc.

Team mostly went off for a weekend. We still debating on anonymity. This takes too much time imo.

Anonymity PRO: Coin will stay alive, price will rise, give the team more time to further improveand implement the betting aspect and make it a real outstanding coin among all alts which has more real life use than any other.
Anonymity CONTRA: Coin will most likely die soon. Team could step down and enjoy the rest of the summer.

I think the future of virtual currency will become an essential property of anonymous. Because everyone is more importance on the privacy. This is my view

Ok so this is a legitimate query.... Why are people so fascinated with 'Anon' transactions? Because Bitcoin in itself is anonymous. Like I just lost a boatload of BTC to a hacker but I have absolutely no way tracing this scumbag because of the anonymity of the BTC protocol. Sure I can see the coins sit in an address with a kajillion numbers but I have now way of knowing where this guy is. If you were worried that someone can tie you to that address then just put the coins through a BTC mixer like my little friend hacker did and kablamo the trail is gone.
So yer, I personally dont see the fuss.

The problem is that something truly anon can not be regulated. And governments love to control stuff. There is no such thing as true privacy. Because when you absolutely private - you are absolutely vulnerable. Look around this forum - no matter how much anon devs promise - every now an then epic scam strikes stipping dozens of users of their savings and everyone rush to fill police and FBI reports, willing to forget all anonymity for a chance to get their precious money back. So I do not think vast majority really wants true anonymity, and true privacy, or perhaps they wish something, but they do not truly understand what they wish. They say "be careful of what you wish, because it may come true".

Besides - why would any honest man need anonymity and privacy?
