Meanwhile, no buy support until 72 on Polo.
Noob traders freaked out after one guy did the old trick of selling a big chunk of coins into his own buy wall. (educated guess) People always fall for that trick!

I have the same problem as discussed before (see under this post). Getting error 699, tried to stop/start delegated harvesting; Start/stop local harvesting, no change at all. I don´t understand that. Can i connect with a remote node? What is a node? At my settings there appears "localhost", delegated harvesting is active; but when i try to start delegated harvesting: Error 699. Thanks a lot! ..Too..many..posts... Could you please answer this one? Will local node and remote node have to run at the same time to do delegated harvesting?
No they don't have to run at the same time. Only the node you're harvesting on needs to run. Anything else would defeat the point of the excecise. Ah nice.. So the approach is: - Setup remote node with NIS and NCC - Set remote node's address in local settings -> host - Activate delegated harvesting Is this correct? I would first setup a local NIS and NCC and get that working to be sure that there is no principal problem. Then activate delegated harvesting. Meanwhile you can setup a remote NIS. Once the delegated harvesting is activated (needs 360 blocks) shut down local NIS and start remote NIS with the remote key as boot key. Then change setting in ncc to connect to the remote NIS.

Well thats been over one week NEM has been out and guess what , our position in the market has been pretty stable....very stable in fact. I have been around since the start and have dug pretty deep and know XEM is fairly distributed. All the FUD was just that...FUD. The fair distribution model is a good one and I expect prices to rise from here . It may not be fast price rises but thats fine. I have not sold one XEM and will not even think about it till we are at least 30 times the marketcap of now and then it will only be a small amount. Its been a good start guys. Theres lots of guys in the background working their butts off too . This is the beginning....................

https://forum.ournem.com/general-discussion/nem-multi-sign-either-i'm-fucked-up!-or-not/ Need help! Hi, I setup my NEM account with funds around 2M as multi signature, with other 2 NEM accounts. Now, the Send XEM button is grey in the account with 2M. Means it's frozen there? And can't be used?? If Not, please help me understand how can I send those XEM if I ever needed to? Regards, Satinder

You can now issue tx from the other 2 accounts only. Guess someone should have read the tutorial first ?

Agreed. In fact XEM performs exactly as many expected. Most of the people that weren't dreaming and made realistic estimates estimated just about what we're seeing right now. Anyone that is heavily dissapointed in the price had too high expectations. It's the first week after launch and this is a long term project. Realize that people!

Yeah, they get the exact same thing when they don't participate in a pool but in any remote NIS. And since letting people harvest on a node doesnt take much CPU load, I believe this will be pretty decentralized.
You forgot about Sybil attack. People will connect to different NIS controlled by a single entity. Have you received an answer from Bloody yet ? Maybe you should get a cup of stfup instead of spreading potentially false allegations AGAIN ! How about you go over to the other platforms thread that has the exact same attack vector that you are reffering to ?

Can someone confirm the minimum required for a remote server setup for delegated harvesting
1- NIS running 2- NCC running 3- a wallet unlocked
from my experiences over recent days it looks like the NIS stops downloading blocks (so delegated harvesting stops on the local PC wallet) if a wallet is not open in the NCC on the remote server, but I'm not 100% sure.
A remote server should run NIS only. NCC should always run locally! So once you have NIS running on the remote server and it is booted (manually from NCC or by entering a bootkey into NIS config.properties [but please don't enter priv keys as bootkey from accounts with funds]), you can connect to that NIS and start delegated harvesting. Please also see this: http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/Thanks for that answer! So on the remote server I open NCC in a browser, boot the NIS, then I can close the browser (which closes NCC?) and NIS should stay running? On my remote server the NIS keeps stopping, but I'm not sure why. edit: so to start the NIS you DON'T need to unlock a wallet on the remote server? I have turned on harvesting (both local and delegated) and then completely shut down NCC in the stand alone and harvested blocks just fine. I have also used the installer and run the full program and turned on harvesting (both local and delegated) and completely logged off of NCC and closed my browser and still harvested fees just fine.

Hi, it is really easy to send you just go into the wallet/account of one of the cosigners and initiate the transaction from there.

Why do we need 2 nem reddit pages?
From what I gather someone started their own NEM sub considering this is a community and not dictated by a single entity or special interest group, developers, or special interest group, want control over subreddit, owner/creator says no because this is the New Economy Movement that belongs to the community not a special interest group that has an agenda, developers hungry for control to fulfill their agenda start their own subreddit so they can dictate what happens there. Some "movement" huh? I have seen this with many coins, Want to see how this ends? Check out Reddcoin. No, pretty sure the guy who started the first nem subreddit wouldn't give anyone else administrative access other than himself - so the NEM marketing team decided to make their own subreddit. It's all pretty stupid anyways. I think having a third party in place is good for trust. When the developers start to control the situation that leaves a door open for trouble. The main developers don't have anything to do with the reddit issue, they only code. It was marketing that asked Okaynow to add additional moderators to the reddit and he refused flat out. Requests were made to even just add well respected members of the community, not just marketing, and he refused and wants to continue to maintain complete control by himself. Furthermore he has continued to advertise over and over that he is accepting money for Reddit and it has been requested that he put that community money in the hands of the community via multisig as a security precaution and again he refuses to do so. There is no grab for power/money by marketing or main devs, in fact the request is the exact opposite for Reddit to be opened up to the community. I would make the request again now for Okaynow to add more moderators of trusted people from the NEM community and add additional people to the funds to make it multisig as a precaution. I hate to be that guy again, but you need to sort out the issue with the /r/nem subreddit. I fear if the marketing train ever does take off that is going to come back to bite us all.
What do you suggest to do when he refuses to work with anybody?

I noticed that many, really many people are buying just 10.000XEM to start harvestin' in future. And then i noticed that a guy who has received approx. 270.000XEM from donations from many accounts (yesterdays ballance, only few of them vested) has now bigger importance than 2.25M stakeholders (he had over 7, we have only 2.5-3.5). So the distribution process is now in 2nd stage of redistribution and it seems to be possible to get many XEMs just by harvesting almost if there will be some promoting for harvesters/nodes. Or just someone tryin' to test the network by sybill/51 percent attack?

1) That "pool" would have to setup quite some VPS then. 2) If people notice that transactions are not sent immediately, they probably just switch to another node...
1) 1 VPS + many IPs. 2) What transactions are you talking about? Ability to decide on transaction confirmation is a legit incentive to have pools, a rogue pool would use the power to double-spend.

No. But I got an answer in this thread. It's not false allegations. If you harvest with 65% coins controlled by NEM core then PoI rating may be above 50% which means that NEM is not decentralized (you can revert as many blocks as you wish, even from the very genesis). Only Ethereum left in the list, I have to wait when it's released. PS: You became too nervous after I paid close attention to security of NEM. Is it just a cognitive bias or something else?
