Any idea on what price we might be looking at when zaif starts trading?

500-600 sats would be my guess. I mean we all want to see 5000+ sats.

500 -600???  is that not a little bit to high??

That would mean a 27M makretcap and right below Ethereum. Of course that this garbage token will never reach that price, ever.

BUY QUAtloo, the next pump it will be

You're really dumb to promote another coin on xem thread lol

Currently trading around 66 sats, and 24 hour volume is good too.

This means lots of XEM is changing hands and more than likely more accounts are being created.  Cheesy

Please don't pump it guys, NEM will rise on its own merit  Smiley

You know how some video games seemed to be huge successes without barely any advertising? Because they sold on their own merit, too. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. Will be nice to see NEM accomplish the same thing.

On the forum there is some talk of branding. https://forum.nem.io/
I agree with rb2, the name NEM is fine with or without an acronym.

We can redefine our NEM acronym where the original New Economy Movement is simply replaced
with a new phrase that has better meaning.

Examples:
DVD - Digital Versatile Disc (originally Digital Video Disk)
GAO - Government Accountability Office (originally General Accounting Office)
GPO - Government Publishing Office (originally Government Printing Office)
RAID - Redundant Array of Independent Disks (originally Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks)
WWF - Worldwide Fund for Nature (originally World Wildlife Fund)
TWA - Trans World Airlines (originally Transcontinental & Western Air)

NEM - New Easy Multisig
NEM - New Economic Markets
NEM - New Engineered Money
NEM - N?---? E?---? M?---?

Another option is we can go with a recursive acronym, an acronym that refers to itself.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recursive_acronym

Examples:
cURL - Curl URL Request Library
GNU - GNU's Not Unix
LAME - LAME Ain't an MP3 Encoder
MEGA - MEGA Encrypted Global Access
Nano - Nano's ANOther editor
PHP - PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (originally Personal Home Page Tools)
PIP - PIP Installs Packages
WINE - WINE Is Not an Emulator (originally WINdows Emulator)
XBMC - XBMC Media Center (originally XBox Media Center)
Saab — Saab Aeroplan AktieBolaget (originally Svenska Aeroplan AktieBolaget)

NEM - NEM Easy Multisig
NEM - NEM Experimental Money
NEM - NEM End of Money
NEM - NEM Ez Money Tongue
NEM - NEM ExtreMe
NEM - NEM EMpowers
NEM - NEM E?---? M?---?

*not serious about any of these, just some examples, you get the idea

(owon's NEM is Now Entirely MOSAICS or nemoto_v2's New Economic Machina aren't too bad.)

Words starting with e and containing m
http://worddetector.com/q/e*m*/

Some of the very big companies are known just by their abbreviation.
AAA.com
ABC.com
ADM.com
AMD.com
ATT.com
BBC.com
BMW.com
BYD.com
CBC.ca
CBS.com
CNN.com
DHL.com
DOW.com
HTC.com
IBM.com
ING.com
JAL.com
JVC.com
NBC.com
NEC.com
NHK.or.jp
TBS.co.jp
TCL.com
UBS.com
UPS.com
YKK.com
ZTE.com.cn

Most of the acronyms are derived from their initials.

The company BYD is an acronym derived from the phrase "Build Your Dreams".
http://www.byd.com/aboutus/profile.html

A reverse acronym or backronym is where the phrase is chosen to fit the letters.

The new AMBER Alert meaning is: "America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response".
(the term originally referred to the girl Amber Hagerman http://www.amberalert.gov)

The official title of the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001 is a ten-letter backronym:
"Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism".
Public law 107-56
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/PLAW-107publ56/pdf/PLAW-107publ56.pdf
http://legislink.org/us/stat-115-272

Some companies, like AT&T and IBM dropped their original formal name and go only as the acronym.
The formal name of the SAT exam was Scholastic Aptitude Test it now goes only by the name SAT.
https://sat.collegeboard.org/

NEM doesn't necessarily need to stand for anything, yes originally it was new economy movement but
now it can be simply the brand name. If we can find a good phrase for the N.E.M. or the E.M. then great,
otherwise we can just be NEM without any particular meaning.

yes i guess its best to hide the original name that represented the original philosophy now those in control of NEMs only push is to be in bed with the banks.

those are some really impressive gains. If only xem would follow we would all be very happy.

Well, as I said, cryptoland has only a few million people. NEM is not well known in the cryptoland because many still do not know the superior features in the NEM blockchain. We have not been publicising in the cryptoland too. Besides, most of the speculators have probably got waned by the alt crypto in general.

NEM is a small community. Real active ones probably <100. Rest are only "swinging by" every now and then. And as I have mentioned numerous times, we should not worry about cryptoland and its speculators. In a way, we are using the blue ocean approach and cover new grounds and new users by working on the 7 Billion people instead. It appears that this approach is working. More and more people are 'experimenting" with NEM, learning how to program, and making use of the NEM Blockchain platform. Soon, they will find that working with NEM is so much easier than working with a bitcoin blockchain. It has so many more powerful functions. And when that critical mass of programmers start to kick in, we would reach the tipping point for NEM.

That should not be far away. We hope by the end of the year, we will have more users of NEM than any other altcoins in the cyptoland. And I strongly believe we can achieve that.

The level of visibility NEM has in Japan is equivalent to a company appearing in major TV stations in North American, albeit, it is not televised so much outside of Japan. Heard enough and seen enough, it is bound to touch the man on the street sooner than expected.

More announcements are expected in Japan with more companies adopting/experimenting NEM. It is going to be a barrage of news till you cannot keep track.

Hope this sums up why we have been so quiet working in the background. That has been NEM since launch. We never over-promise but we will always strive to over-deliver.

Footnote: It appears that a new wave of Japanese are coming in to buy XEM up. We'll see., but if this is true, more will join the fray as we list XEM in Zaif later this month (ETA).

I don't think crypto land is even close to a million. Maybe a few hundred thousand people.

The other thing is there is a big difference between active users and speculators.
Probably alot of accounts holding BTC just sitting there.

There probably more than a million people holding BTC, but how many are actively using it?
There is also no way of knowing how many addresses are linked to the same person, as alot of people will hold multiple BTC addresses.

Hello Nem community,

i started delegated harvesting today, it seems to work as it should Smiley I chose a public node from www.nodeexplorer.com. Now i would like to contact the node admin for providing my remote´s account private key, so that in case of a node reboot i would not get kicked out of the POI process.

Where can i contact these persons? I cannot find any information. Do i contact them on the nem forum? Where do i find any kind of contact information?

Thanks!

Yes, you're gonna need to ask on the forum who is running that node and wether or not they're willing to add you to the "auto harvesters".
You could try your louck here but many people don't visit btt that often anymore.

when we can change the language on the website to german? in Germany lives more than 80 million people so i think it is necessary when nem wanted to grow.

Jabo38 should be able to help.

Im sure they would be open to give a bounty to someone to translate the site to German, and other languages for that matter.

Remember we are all on Telegram and Slack guys.....if you have more to contribute.. Smiley

where i can find telegram?

https://telegram.org/

Make an account and then contact jabo38 so he can add you to the group.
If telegram isn't your thing (e.g. you don't wanna hand out your phone#) you can also join slack which is interconnected with telegram so you're entering the same conversation from a different platform.
If you want to use slack you can join here: http://blockexplore.in/search/join-slack/

Telegram is ok, no need to give the phone number, because users can have a @Username Wink

I'll join.

Patmast3r is paranoid. He doesn't want Telegram to know his telephone number. Smiley

They are saying they want to enable privacy. They don't need my phone# to provide their service yet they are asking for it and give no alternative eventhough it would be trivial. They are hypocrites and that is why i don't use telegram. It's a question of principles.
