I agree, if NEM takes off in Asia, it will spread global.

How cool will it be to go on ebay or amazon and use dragonfly instead of paypal?

You won't see DF as a payment gateway. The very basis of DF's business is to provide the platform for these providers to use. It may very well be FB or Amazon itself that will just use the solution directly. Blockchain is a disruptor and a disintermediating technology.

OK, interesting, i thought thats essentially what dragonfly pay was!!
Sounds like its alot bigger than that.
You will see more clarity very soon. Smiley

Great. Just please dont introduce smart contracts (DAO) Sad

With the recent Ethereum debacle, it is not fair to say smart contracts are deemed to fail . Each blockchain projects have its own codes and security features. Now smart contracts are being integrated to blockchain platforms because it attracts investors or users. Most often than not softwares are being exploited if it does not routinely check its codes. This is the very reason why developers issue quick patches as they see the codes being used can be compromised.

I am not a believer of smart contracts for sure. Remember all software, no matter how well they are designed and developed, will always have bugs. Blockchain contracts are irreversible and immutable. DAO is a very expensive demonstration of what the reality is all about. Think hard about that.

The above is only one aspect of it. THere are many more odds stacked against it.

Ethereum, like NXT, is a great demonstration of computer science and what crypto projects can do. It is still a long, long way from being able to be put to any good use.

NEM is a go between and is a more realistic project. The KISS of blockchain technology. Our focus is true blockchain utility for the mainstream.

That is the fundamental reason why we are still moving along slowly and surely in the right direction while we see calamity in other projects. Even after having said that, the entire crypto community is still very much in the growth phase. I can say for sure that any project, including NEM, can't claim to be flawless.

Our devs are geniuses. That, I have to take my hat off for them.
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Not only altcoins, all cryptocurrencies should learn about this. It could happen to Bitcoin, too, in any way. It even happend already back in 2010 when a hard fork was conducted because there was a bug resulting in unlimited Bitcoin creation.

Either way, all altcoins should learn from this.  ETH future is uncertain at this point.

There was a recent update to NIS to 0.6.77 from 0.6.76.  Please everyone update your nodes.  Supernodes will have about 1 week from now to update.

This is the type of thing that worries me most about crypto land and open source in general.  While NEM has what appears to be a great partnership with Mijin and Dragonfly, my hope is that NEM is always aware of, and approves of the features and implementations that these projects expose in the wild. This is especially important because this is a publicly acknowledged relationship, and any failures will have the NEM chain at it's root.  On the other hand, any hack can poorly implement (or intentionally poorly implement) the NEM chain to cast doubts on the platform.  I understand that these relationships are necessary for growth and wide spread adoption.  I just wish there was more controls in place that could protect the hard work that this dev team has accomplished.

You have quoted wrong that is why your post looks a little bit weird.

Indeed, this is one of the biggest risks. DAO was an exception by now. There are only few projects which have needed a hard fork because of a really serious bug. That is why I always suggest to only hold a part of your money in crypto currencies. If you have made profit than exchange it. Well, if you have a problem with fiat money then exchange it to Gold or Silver or anything else. But going full into crypto currencies is always a risk.

If this stable trend continues, we might be seeing NEM leave BTC and go its own way in the next year or two.  Cool
