Not all of us live on BTT (or the NEM forum for that matter). What's your best guess on an approximate date for when we'll be able to claim NEM coins? Even when redemption starts you will not be asked to enter your btt credentials anywhere. A detailed guide on how to get your NEM will be released soon but there are some things that you can count on to avoid scams:
When redemption starts you will most likely get a pm from me. You won't need to enter any username or password anywhere. We're going to use https There will be a detailed announcement so before you hear anything official on all channels redemption hasn't started yet.
Also if you've already fallen for a scam. TELL ME NOW ! Most likely scenario is that the scammers will request assets.
Seeing this do you guys think we should stop issueing assets to avoid scammers requesting assets from legit accounts ?

You really don't have to live on btt anymore. There twitter, the newletter (you can get it via email too just tell kodtycoon or rockethead), the forum, the website.

IMHO this is a good idea. Sharks are all around us... What does the rest think ? Best to not just close it, but to offer a final date. I'd definitely think it's okay to close at beta launch, if announced so all parties involved can focus on other things rather than assets. Before is okay too, if it's announced at least a few days in advance.

Since that is not too far away I'd be for closing it now to give people time to discover their hacked / phished accounts.

I could have as much as 50 or 60 years of life to go and time is on my side, so I am hodling NEM and other cryptos.
I think crypto currencies could someday be a $trillion market since Dot.com was $7 trillion in the late 1990s, investment gold is around $2 trillion and there's several $trillion dollar markets / industries out there.
You don't even necessarily need to be holding onto a front runner, even coin #5 in a $trillion market could have a capitalization in the tens of billions. It would be nice if NEM was the front runner but I'ld just as satisfied if it is coin #2-#4 and it's going for $10-$200 a NEM in a crypto market worth $trillions (1t-7t)

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution. The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

Now I'm afraid of every message I received the last days. How can we prevent such pishing-attempts? What can we do in case someone has already stolen our password? Is it sufficient to change our password? Any recommendation?

Now I'm afraid of every message I received the last days. How can we prevent such pishing-attempts? What can we do in case someone has already stolen our password? Is it sufficient to change our password? Any recommendation? no need to panic.. just dont click any links from users who you do not recognise and make sure that if you do get a message that it is from who it is supposed to be.. like if its the newsletter make sure it is me and not kodycoon or something... profile rank is a good indicator.. changing you password should be ok.. if you have clicked any suspicious links and you are concerned that your account has been breached just send patmast3r a message to confirm that your stake has not attempted to be claimed. if there is not a link in the message.. everything is fine.. no need to worry.. if there is.. double check everything and everything will be fine.. just dont enter your login details anywhere unless its just btt you are logging into. Wouldn't it be better to convert all accounts to assets, not only on demand? This way there are then at least no attacks on the forum accounts any more...

I was also PMd a phishing link from Zahlen (seems hacked) with "Important news about NEM Open Alpha" which really looks like leading to bitcointalk though: 1. the site was unsecure (not http s://); 2. bi lcointalk.org (not bi tcointalk.org). damn scamers
