ok no luck.. i dont know what the hell is wrong that it wont work.. :/ allowed the port in the firewall settings, didnt work, turned off the firewall - didnt work, router settings didnt work.. :/
edit:
martismartis, netgear (ssid)AirCard-4210
just had a look online and one site, in relation to white listing, is showing ports like "http=port80". is that the way it is supposed to be entered or just as "7890" with out the http=?
no worries if i cant get it working, il just bring it into college and someone will know how to fix it..
If you trust me just email me your router/firewall screen and I can tell you what to do.

You may need Dynamic DNS to work. It will not work without a static external IP.

YAY lol @pat ya thats what i did.. solved anyway.. thanks for all the help guys! Be careful. You are naked now if you open all ports. I suggest once you are happy with it, it is better you close everything and don't muck around with it until you are damn sure what you are doing! A lot of Internet robbers out there.

A lot of Internet robbers out there. no its only a setting for that one single port. i didnt make all ports open to all pc's. i know that would be madness lol. its a setting in the firewall for that particular entry. all the other ports are still closed to home/shared network. it is safe to open port 7890 to other computers right? if not how do i get around having to open it? ps. there is nothing valuable on the laptop im using to test this out.. so hackers can hack away and they wont get jack from me could someone send me test nem please? address in sig thanks

dya no what would be handy.. you know in your transactions a pop up thing shows the full address when you hover over a partial address, if you could click the partial address to copy it to clip board. or right click to open a little menu with options to copy to clip board or add as a contact.
edit:
trying to do the remote harvesting.. its seriously confusing.. i activated remote harvesting, wouldnt let me change the address or anything to just entered password and activated and now it says "activating remote harvesting". do i wait until it says activated and then enter the address that i want to harvest for me? or how does it work? if i try anything else to do with harvesting, it throws an error since i did that.
