You should be able to stake the coins without any issues, obviously you are still using the older version without the bug in it.
of course, you should keep a backup of your wallet

IMHO I don't think any public votes should be allowed.  Why open it up to abuse with bots?  I write bots and know the power they have.

A bot with 100K scraped IP addresses could/would skew a poll.

If people don't hold coins, why should they get to vote anyway.  You either buy in to vote, or sit on the sidelines and wish you did later.

The technical complexities would be challenging as well.

Yeh, there are disadvantages to public polls like bots, or just proxying different ips over and over..

But there are also problems with weighted.  It would mean that the 2 or 3 percent of the community with the most coins control the entire thing.  Much the same as the world we live in now.  My hope is that there can be a balance somehow.

But in relative contrast to saying that.. What about a straight forward pay to vote system?  1 silk = 1 vote.  Would show exactly how much silk has been spent to vote, and would contribute to development directly.

Because the Developer(s) made a mess of a great project and the price plummeted. Two very valid reasons, and I see some poeople who lost on a investment. That makes me sad. It is a little thing called compassion.

I'd volunteer for community manager. I've a BS in Public Relations and I minored in marketing. I have a fair amount of experience being an operations director for a local fandom convention. I can manage teams, get work done, follow deadlines, and that sort of thing. I'm passionate about crypto for a while. I like Silk, and if the community will allow me to help then I will do so.

@Arteleis - Sorry to be a pain mate as it is overwhelmingly not being voted for - but can you change "Phenocoin" to "Pheno" - never wanted the "Coin" part to be in the name. If you can't get to it, no big worries as its a rather moot point.

Here is my vision for branding:

We will break it down into 3 parts.

1: Drop "coin" - we will refer the currency as "Silk"
2: Ecosystem - Refer the whole platform as "Silk Crypto"
3: Marketplace - The Grand Bazaar

This is a similar strategy to the NXT and NEM platforms.

NXT has always been referred to as NXT, even though some would inadvertently call it "NXT coin", thats never been an official name.
One of their domains is nxtcrypto.org, and i dont think there would be anything wrong with referring our platform as "silk crypto" but "silk would be the commonly used name for the currency itself.

We should also be creative for the units of currency, BTC uses Satoshi for example, perhaps we could use the ancient unit of "Cubits" (measure of length) for our "Silk"?

I propose registering silkcrypto.org or silk-crypto.org

But multiple domains are not an issue, NXT has several domains, and so do alot of other coins.

I dont think the above strategy suggests that we are engaged in illicit activity, and look at Darkcoin, i reckon their name is one of the shadiest names in crypto, and they are up there on CMC.

I dunno I never seen Grand Bazaar anywhere before I made the trello.  Possible but not as far as I know. 
 Only problem with silk market of course, it sounds very directly linked to silk road.  Which of course silk coin has nothing to do with. Personally do not want to go that direction at all.

I chose the name The Grand Bazaar because surely the camel was going somewhere...
In this metaphor he is going to load up with goods at the bazaar before he heads back out on the next long journey up the crypto ranks..  Enjoy and please pm me to be added.

nzminer i just realized discussion with you is pointless, you are probably 12 and dont understand "crypto" at all.

IDK, keep the ideas coming, its early days, perhaps separate blockchains could be used for each commodity, thats something that hasnt been done with any coin before.
You may ask why use seperate blockchains, well perhaps some people just want to use the main silk platform and not engage in trading, the separate blockchains could store the extra data required in the online trading, social networking side of things, IDK. The devs will have a better idea on this.

...we can not have a different blockchain for each commodity, that meant everytime you wanted a new item in a new "commodity" section you would create a whole new coin, new blockchain = new coin. so it's not even silkcoin anymore...

altho there is already a potcoin and cryptometh, so maybe you are on to something

the implied myth behind silkcoin was there would be a silkroad type marketplace with anon features that would accept silkcoin...
of course this could probably never be built into the block chain as they described... it was a nice dream, and someone could still pull off a decentralized market of some kind that indeed does use silkcoin as the currency .., anything is possible.

arteleis, the original silk road was a magical place where dreams came true, of course the implied reference with silkcoin was to this original marketplace, complete with a camel as it's symbol.
... not that it matters as it turned out to be a scam.
