i like to have plenty of headroom.
i have 2 x s3 on 1600EVGA 80+ gold.
and 2 x s3 on AX1200i 80+ platinum.
be wary with bronze rated PSU's they are far less efficient.

Hi. How can i reset miner to defaults?  I messing up with wifi controller and accidentally disable wan port. Now i'm stuck with wifi connecting to my router. No ip assigned to wifi if. So i can't reach web interface. Trying to hook up debug port but it disabled by bitmain  . |

If you're doing load balancing or something similar, you're better off dedicating certain machines to a particular pool and using the other 2 as the backup. e.g. Miner A: Pool1, Pool2, Pool3 Miner B: Pool2, Pool1, Pool3 Miner C: Pool3, Pool1, Pool2 |

I have 1 pool rental site, only alive when rented. Second pool is nice hash, with a price minimum only one pool most of the time, no backup  |

No import costs to the US. Shipping cost for two S3s is ~$140 to West Coast (not sure if it depends on location). |

Guys I have one S3 that worked fine but now suddenly not mining at all. both mining cards are red blinking like this, I have included a copy of control board also. what you say?   |

Login via ssh and issue commands:
killall cgminer
cgminer --bitmain-options 115200:32:8:17:243.75:1306 -o stratum+tcp://poolurl -O worker_name:worker_password
and paste here what it output to you.
Also show us ouput of command dmesg

Like many other mining enthusiasts no doubt, I have migrated from S1's to S3's and now have S1's gathering dust. So what to do with them? They are undervolted and lowered frequency using 150watts at 128Gh. Running costs are £0.50p per day each. They run almost silent. l intend using one per bedroom to warm the room up and maybe point them at a solo pool.. you never know your luck or l could stay with my usual pool and then the running costs drop to £0.10p per day.
As an aside I have 6 S3's all providing heating. It's winter here in England with outside temperatures ranging from 0 to 10C. One S3 is in the shed to keep the place from freezing, 3 in the lounge hidden in a corner.. the temperature there now never drops below 22C.. and 2 in my study which keeps it comfortably warm. Fan noise is not a problem having replaced all fans with much quieter ones.

Does anyone have a link to replacement fans for the S3? I have several that I'm using as space heaters and the fans are rather noisy when the room temperature is 70F.

I am sure it has been asked and answered but this thread is so long hard to go through it all. What is a good quality fan to replace the two fans on the S3+? I would want ones that push a lot of air, run lower rpm and are much quieter. My S3+ is very loud when the fans kick on to higher speeds.
