In general, what is the condenses on the last batch of miners ? Are they hitting and keeping their target hash range +/- ?
Ahem, was that meant to read consensus? Well, S3+'s are solid units, (including S3's later than batch 6) and bitmain have perfected their art with respect to these devices, with the sole exception of the firmware update shenanigans. Properly powered, they hit and exceed their rated hash-speed without batting an eyelid. I personally think more can be squeezed out of the S3+'s by re-doing the top heat-sink and using heatpads rather than the paste.

You need at least 120cfm, 150cfm ideally The s3 already has some pretty topnotch fans for airflow/noise ratio

Hey All, Has there been any further discussion/confirmation that S3+ B11s are shipping with louder fans? I'm considering replacing my S1s with S3s, but NOT if the fans are louder. Anyone have any thoughts, links, experiences? Some points to head off the mindless, "who in their right mind...", comments from the usual suspects: - I am well aware of the blunt force calculations concering ROI.
- I am not crazy for ordering them and having them shipped no matter what you happen to think.
- You have no idea what I pay for power, or how I use the heat.
- This is a hobby that I enjoy.
So, other than that, all comments welcome. Thanks in advance!

But there were several posts recently in this thread that noted that B11 fans were signficantly louder than prior batches of B3+. I was wonder if there was any other discussion thereof, or if anyone knew of a change, et cetera, that was more specific. Thanks again.

I ordered two Antminer S3+ units for delivery to Thailand. The only shipping option was UPS. Both units were shipped last Wednesday. They both came to Thailand on Friday but only one was delivered. Apparently, one unit was left on the plane and went on quite an odyssey. UPS didn't even apologize for their screw-up. So here is the journey one of the units took. For a journey that should have been about 1,733 Km the package traveled approximately 24,146 Km (15,004 miles). I am glad I finally got it today. There was gash that cut through the box but the inner foam protected the unit. Right now it is hashing and seems to be working per specs.

the good news is that UPS probably spent $50 of time and jet fuel to transport it all those extra trips Yea. I kept mentioning to my brother how much extra fuel they are wasting taking it everywhere the plane went for the weekend.

since this is my first S3+ miner I'm using I can't comment on noise of earlier units, but I can tell ya that my first S3+ does have loud fans on it, they were running at medium and highest speed when I first got it during testing and sitting on my table, but I since fixed that by putting the miner under my table since the air is cooler along the floor which helps keep the fan speed down and its barely tolerable since it now runs at low to medium speed
another thing that will help is keep the miner in a room thats at least 72F or lower, if the ambient temp in the room is too high, then the fans will be noisy as well.
Or if you want to really get creative, build like a duct behind all your S3 miners exaust fans and plug a dryer vent to it and the heat will go out of the house instead of surrounding the miners in the room lol
as for ordering miners, I didn't get mine direct from China, I bought it off amazon from a third party seller called MiningSolutions (based in New Jersey USA), he is one of the trusted ones on thier and always has the latest batch in stock and sells out very quick as well. Gonna order my next one from him as soon as I can

I have had it just over 24 hours. The fans are very loud when at full speed. When the chip temps are in the low 40's C the fans are at 2400 and 2100 rpm and they are loud. Even with a loud aircon unit on you can still hear the fans.

Mine right now is at 38c and 36c so the fans bounce between low and medium speed, most of the time it stays at medium speed though
Low Speed = 1440 and 1080 rpm Medium Speed = 1680 and 1320 rpm High speed = 2100 and 1680 rpm
my room temp is currently 72f, but outside its 35f.... its cold tonight.

Or if you want to really get creative, build like a duct behind all your S3 miners exaust fans and plug a dryer vent to it and the heat will go out of the house instead of surrounding the miners in the room lol Be careful with this, the fans on the miners are not sufficient to push down a dryer vent very far, especially if it has twists and turns. Net result? Disaster.

After using an ip scanner to find an S3+ (Paragon whatever), it noted that and all the other hardware fine. However, it also noted say 700+ or so IPs all with the same MAC addy, without any hardware name.
Anyone know what that is or why? Never seen it before.
Thanks, in advance.

You should put them outside in the garage or a covered area. You wont even need the fans and/or they will run at low speed j/k The miners can replace your heater

BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization We are pleased to announce Antpool (antpool.com) which is open for users all around the world. BITMAIN has invested significant resources into developing a bitcoin pool based on the p2pool mining protocol. BITMAIN reaffirms its commitment to help decentralize the Bitcoin network, strengthen the Bitcoin eco-system and put the majority of hashing power into the hands of consumers. The p2pool protocol prevents hashing power being controlled by one central entity (the pool owner), and has been significantly developed during the development of Antpool. All p2pool code will be open sourced and uploaded on BITMAIN’s Github link this week https://github.com/bitmaintech/p2pool. Antpool supports solo mining as well. Antpool has been proven to be stable and secure through its long testing period. From August 22th to November 10th, 295 blocks were found and 7398 Bitcoins were mined. Further stats can be found here link https://www.antpool.com/poolStats.htm. Antpool can be found at antpool.com, while miners now can connect at stratum.antpool.com:3333 for pooled mining, and will be able to connect at p2p.antpool.com:3333 for p2p mining this week. Pool nodes are deployed around the world to improve performance and provide redundancy. Miners are automatically routed their closest location, including: - United States
- Germany
- Hong Kong
- Beijing
- Shenzhen
- Qingdao
- Hangzhou and more.
Features- 0% fees and PPLNS earnings.
- Graphical displays for hashing speeds, income and pool statistics.
- Email warnings for underperforming miners.
- API and third party application support.
- Support for miner groups, group statistics and management.
Forum & Ticket System Users are able to access to Antpool with their BITMAIN account. The log in and ticket system is unified across all BITMAIN services, which allows communication and support to be more efficient. Miners now can buy mining rigs from bitmaintech.com and chose hosting service at Umisoo and mine at antpool.com. Your feedback is important for us to develop and improve our products.
