S3 in mining status what is gh\s  (avg)  ? What is avg ?

S3+ should see about 450 gh/s at factory freq/volt.  S3 is slightly lower.

I think ToQ has a regular S3 so I would say around 440 gh/s depending on which batch.  Batch 1 had some that ran a little slower but they sent some money back because of it.

What is avg ?

It depends on many things.  Such as what batch it was in.  If it's a S3 or S3+.   Each one has a mind of it's own.

S3's I would say around 440 on what I consider Grade A ones.   Lower ones can be 400 +, first batch had the most close to 400 and some from first batch were perfect.

On S3 + I would say 450 +.  It really depends on the unit they very greatly.  Some you can run at a higher clock and get 500.   So what I consider a Grade A is one capable of hitting 500.

As far as yours set it on a good pool for your connection and you will see average speed.

Anyone know of any modded firmware or mods to S3.

Only thing I know of a mod to get nicehash to have extranonoce .

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=software

Keep in mind firmware is not official, meaning it breaks warranty.

Got it  it comes with an upgrade to cgminer but im still trying to figure it out i dont see a benifit from it as of yet.
what do you expect?

Using the patched cgminer, as long as you add the #xnsub to the end of the pool(like stratum+tcp://stratum.westhash.com:3334#xnsub), you should notice only one main thing. If you had any rejected speed for that miner, the extranonce seems to fix that. So, you'll have all the mining power you should all the time. And in the case of an overclocked s3, I get an average of 505GH

I've been mining on westhash for the last three awesome days, accounting for the s3 on there, it would be making approx 0.0066666 per day.

The fun looks like it's over, but it's still paying more than 100%. The great thing is you can set a miner to only mine there according to the price that will be paid in the password field. So I have it as my number one pool now with the price set, and it'll leave if the price gets too low for me.

Dude, I see your posts all over, you drive me crazy.  Like what do you expect?  To make 1,000,000BTC with one S3 miner?  To get rich and retire with 400gh/s?  Be realistic.

Mining is not a get rich quick scheme.  I tried to explain this in other thread.  One miner is not going to magically pump out so much money you become rich.

At this point it's mining for a long duration that wins.  You have a longer ROI, but it still can be done.

I've compared signals between the good and bad hash board on the S3+.  The one significant difference is that on the good hash board pin 13 of the ribbon cable has data flowing while the bad hash board does not.  I traced the pin 13 to U2 (the first ASIC in the chain) pin 35.  Now I'm stumped.  Without knowing the criteria for getting data from pin 35 U2, I'm stuck.

That's what i did with putty it's on there but i dont see and increase in hash.

Dumb/obvious question, but did you follow their tips https://www.westhash.com/index.jsp?p=asic besides just swapping cgminer?

Yea i do see that my internet connection speed to my computers are affected? They aren't laggy as they use to be. The average speed increased slightly on the miner address and the pool  I use registers the hash's that match my miner(more effectively). So their are benefits to both min. to S3+ but a noticeable diff to S4 especially to the speed the miner page loads.  Grin. As to the tips yea i do most of them anyway plus I'm going to clean out my S3 and apply new thermal paste. I noticed it has alot of dust accumulated and temp is on the rise so that may affect it.

I have some Grade A hand picked S3's for sale over in the Computer Hardware section I had over 100 of them and these were the top performers all hand picked by me during testing all run 500GH minimal HW errors never lock up run very very stable

Hello, today an s3 of mine stopped working,  when I turn it on the fans immediately start running at full speed, and it does not hash, blades and fan speed don't appear on the miner status tab.

Does anyone know what could happen?

Check DNS IP use google to test 8.8.8.8

Or, likewise, input the pools by ip address and if it mines then your dns is bad.

I highly suggest reading some of the links I provided in your other thread.  It contains answer to this.

F2Pool is not paying based on luck.   Read different types of pools.
