ok i think i understand now.. so you got something like this.. S3 (ip 192.168.1.5) > netgear router (ip 192.168.1.2) > comcast router (ip 192.168.1.1) > internet? if this is the case, im also guessing you plugged the comcast router into the "internet" part of the netgear router.. this wont work.. replug that cat5e into a regular lan port.. can you take a pic of how you got everything connected..

ok i cant see your mail attachments but YES, you cant have 2 internet WAN ports connected together.. ok so lets make your LAN work. is your comcast a modem or a router? im guessing since your comcast has an IP its a router.. so lets hook it up like this.. COMCAST to LAN1 on the netgear.. S3 to LAN2 on the netgear. leave the internet port on the netgear open. im sure there is a spot in the ui that says something like assign lan to wan, but we can work on that later. in the netgear router, under LAN.. assign it ip 192.168.1.2 < this is important as the comcast and netgear cant have the same ip. also turn off DHCP server on the netgear, you cant have 2 and the comcast one should be enabled by default. you might have to reboot the netgear router for these changes.

yeah but you dont want to keep it dhcp as it could change and throw off your whole network. so set it static, and keep that ip and gateway and subnet. under dns make it 8.8.8.8

i guess its just a bug in the gui.. maybe cause the dns server is assigned to the wan port and not the lan port.
