Thanks for the reply zOU.
I've opened up a ticket with corsair and asked them. Also do you know where I can get good quality 6pin to 6pin pcie cables?

Is it possible to run 3 X s3's on a corsair rm1000? Even if one was underclocked.
Would the under locking reducing the voltage aswell or would it still run at 340w?

you would have to underclock them so much you might as well run 2 at full speed.. 150M 302ghs is 247W 200M 403ghs is 323W 225M 450ghs is 367W so with 1000W you can run 3 at 150M for 906ghs @ 741W or 2 at 225M for 900ghs @ 734W

Is there not freq setting inbetween the 150 and 200? Even on kanos update? (I would look myself but at work).

Well after a couple of quick calculations I could run one at 250m and two at 150m and get 1.1th @ 888w. Or one at 225 and two at 175 for 1.15th @ 913w. Or third option all three at 193m which would be just under 1.05th @915w. What do you guys think? Having three underclocked would redice the noise to a minimum at an ambient temp of 20c. I'm just trying to maximise my PSU as I can't have an S5 due to noise levels

So you reckon the PSU would be alright at safe at 913w?

I don't think so: Aim for 870W I think at full load. And given it's not an industrial PSU, you'll wear it down quick

I have an S3 that keeps randomly rebooting. It continues to hash normally upon reboot with no "x" showing on the miner status page. None of my other AntMiner S3 or S1 machines do this. I validated that the machine actually rebooted by logging in via SSH and running the "uptime" command. I attached the machine to three known good PSU all with the same result. Some times it hashes without reboot for 3 hours and sometimes 12, but it always ends up rebooting. The S3 is hashing at a frequency of 218.75 MHz on the latest FW. Any thoughts?

Have you checked fan and temp ?
The temps on both hashing boards never rise above 42C. Normally, the fans are running at about 1800-2000 rpms, but from what I can remember, one of the fans on this particular S3 does occasionally spike to around 3800 for no apparent reason.

The fan thing could be a UI issue
have you physically inspected it ? Could you swap the controller with another S3?

I have taken it apart to inspect it and clean it. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary or any damage. The controller is a V1.05 if that helps at all. I do have two S3 units and I can go ahead and swap the boards to see if the problem transfers to the other S3 or if it stays with the first.

I don't have enough experience on the S3 to advise on specifics, but simple troubleshooting steps will help you narrow the possible source.
