Is there any advantage, other than tracking, to make multiple workers at a pool? Such as 1 per S3 or 1 per S1. Or is it just as well to have all your miners using the same worker?

I don't think that different miners can use the same worker (in the same pool)(edit: apparently, you can), although I am not 100% about it.
You can use the same wallet in Eligius, just add _<shortname>
like this: nbmxjwgiwgwigiwgwigwcb_bob1S3, _bob2S3, etc, etc

I group my miners by type into workers so I have lots of miners using the same worker. (all S3s to one worker, All S1s to another, etc)  This works on BTCGuild, bitcoin.cz, triplemining and Eligius. Was just wondering if I was giving up or gaining anything by doing it this way vs the 1 to 1 miners to workers.

Yes, you can use the same worker in the same pool with different miners pointed at it.  But for monitoring and trouble shooting purposes, it's best to have separate workers for each device.

I have never seen this before on the tens of orders I have had with bitmaintech, can anyone give an explanation as to what this means on my tracking?

Shenzhen, China  08/07/2014  11:40 A.M.  Your package may be delayed. We are adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible.
08/06/2014  11:45 A.M.  The package is awaiting clearing agency review. / The package is at the clearing agency awaiting final release.
Shenzhen, China  08/06/2014  11:25 P.M.  Arrival Scan
 08/06/2014  11:23 P.M.  Departure Scan
 08/06/2014  9:15 P.M.  Origin Scan
 08/06/2014  8:10 P.M.  Pickup Scan
China  08/06/2014  6:38 A.M.  Order Processed: Ready for UPS

It looks like it never cleared customs, but I am not sure what is going on?  Is there something I need to be doing?  Bitmain has not responded to my support emails (I assume because its the weekend) but these were supposed to be here yesterday and I am not sure what is going on.

Any information or advice is appreciated.

I have a question about ANTMiner S3
Watt what is needed to run 4x S3?
if 1 S3 360Watt, so 4 S3 = 1440
whether the LEPA 1700 Watt power supply able to handle this ??
please give your review
thank you Smiley

The LEPA P1700 Modular is a very powerful power supply having 6 +12V rails.
Two of the +12V rails are rated for 20A each and so with will give 12V*20A = 240W each rail.
The other four +12V rails individually rated for 30A which means 30*12=360W each.
A single S3 blade need 180+ Watts atleast. With this PSU we can connect the 20A 2 rails to two blade maximum.
Then the next 360W rail may not be enough for 2 blades and so we need to connect the 360W to one blade each.
Inshort 1 S3 can be powered with 2 rails and another 2 S3s can be connected with the other 4 rails.
Which means we can connect a maximum of 3 S3-es in that Power supply.
For three S3 there are a lot of other options and this one is too expensive.
I think that PSU is not targetted to asic miners.

How would you do this, i have one (LEPA G1600, looks the same as the 1700)

The two 20A rails are for the moterboard and cpu.
Only four rails are pci-e, are there converters or something?

Since we have 229 pages of the exact same power supply questions and answers, we probably should start a discussion about which one of the two sets of slotts on the wall outlet we should plug the power supply in. Top or bottom? Please try to read a little before typing. Thanks

Well, it beats the coupon buying/selling/donating discussion which was going on for pages and pages.
Once all newbs get their machines, discussion will turn to speed, price, etc.

Can anyone recommend a PSU for these things? Can I use 3 connectors cos I only like odd numbers?

This has only two 30A connectors but one supports 240V.  Can I use a splitter on it so I can have 3 connectors?  It also has four 120V outlets.  If I only use two of them, in what configuration should I do it?  Left side only, right side only, top only, bottom only, top-to-bottom diagonal or bottom-to-top diagonal?  So sorry.  So confused.  Love you long time, Joe!

That is a great PSU.  However it will only run with a prime number of miners connected to it.  Only use the 120 volt connection (you get more amps that way) and run it inside during the winter (for the added benefit of heat).

It is loud when I run it inside.  I think that is why I have a headache...

Most miners benefit from better PCI-e connections.  After powering on the PSU, if you lick the connectors and get a bunch of saliva in there prior to plugging  into the miner itself, the electricity form said PSU will "flow" much better.  This should also solve any headache issues users may have.

For my six orders, only one had the "package delayed" message, but it was resolved within 12 hours with no intervention from me.  I do think there is some issue with the UPS system this weekend. My current order went through Japan to Anchorage.  All previous orders whet straight from Shenzhen to Anchorage.

I have been licking the PCI-E connectors as instructed but my hashing speed is not increasing.  However, I get a nice warm tingling sensation that is helping with the headache...

Can you recommend a different PSU, this one is loud.

You can buy without coupons too  Smiley
However, you can use 2 coupons on an order of 2 antminers.
they are a little tricky when you choose coupons for a pair as it automatically populates with just 1 coupon and you have to manually change 1 to 2, then hit apply.
I run out of coupons though.

Thanks for the info.

Then I guess I'm looking for 2 coupons - donated or sold.  Yes I know I can buy them outright but it never hurts to save a little here and there Tongue

Care to explain how this with the coupon works?

When do you get some? After each order?

If I wanna buy 6 x S3, should I do it in pairs by placing 3 orders and hope/use coupons on the second and third couple?

Coupons were only issued for s1, s2 and first 3 batches of S3.
Nothing since.

These coupons are not given for free. Its the refund for 7.7% under spec of S3.
S3 advertised and accepted pre-order for 478Ghs but on release its re-rated as 441Ghs.
The difference refunded as 7.7% paid btc or 10% coupon for future orders.
So no one will donate these coupons and the availability is also low.

I don't know for sure but I think coupons were only issued for the first couple of batches due to the hashrate being lower than estimated.

Trying to load a 2nd miner and I'm getting stuck at LuCI - Lua Configuration Interface before 192.168.1.99 times out. I checked my local area IPV4 and it's still set up to detect 192.168.1.99. Am I missing something? Maybe with my router?

Let's try this one more time but with images... here's what my four S3's look like after a lil over 24hrs. Looks like I go lucky and got ones that run fine at stock all around or just over 440gh/s. That being said, two of them have high HW numbers, best I can tell from he math done, the two with high figures are under 0.008 and the lower two under 0.002. So these would all be considered ok and nothing to worry about then, right ?

http://eojmarket.com/NonForumStuff/bitcointalk/s30004.jpg

yes, that's fine. You don't want to bump them up to 237.5 and see what happens?
Well, each miner is on it's own 1k watt PSU where there being hosted with all four power ports on the miners being used. That said, I do want to incrementally OC them with each step being left alone for 24hrs to see what extras I can squeeze out of these while being stable.

That said, can these be OC'd from the webui or do I need to use PuTTy to get in to the miners ?

To be decided...

Did you change the IP of the first miner? You can't have two units using 192.168.1.99.
