Hi All,

A long anticipated and eagerly awaited response (and ongoing stream of updates) is finally here.

I would like to open with an apology to the community for the extended delay in our updates. The mixture of Holiday activities combined with our activities surrounding taking over the coin resulted in a lengthier time for updates than originally expected.

Our team is thrilled to be heading up this coin and have very ambitious plans. We are looking forward to expanding the BSY community and taking this coin further.

We have now established partnerships with some very active developers in the community and are continuing to expand. As things move forward you can expect more frequent updates on all sides as we all make this coin grow into something amazing.

This coin does not have anything officially to do with Banksy. Banksy is not associated with this coin, the name of this coin was as a tribute to Banksy by the original developer of the coin. The original developer of the coin wanted to create a cryptocurrency for artists so the main site is aimed at that objective.

Banksycoin is being developed by a new team now. We believe the appeal of this coin is not so much the name but the community it supports, artists. This coin appealed to our team because we are big supporters of creative people and believe in the value of content creation. The upcoming plans for this coin in addition to the partnerships we are forming will clearly show value beyond a name and some graphics.

It has been brought to our attention that the links to the wallets on the main site are broken.

Looking into it further we have found that the binary distros for the Banksycoin wallet were located on a different server from the main web site. They were also being hosted without mirrors. The only binaries that we have for all platforms at this point are for version 1.3.5 but the latest version is 1.4.

We have attempted to reach out to the original developer of the coin (the original owner and developer are separate people) but have not been successful to date.

Since the version 1.4 source is available in the Git repo we are going to compile new binaries and make those available at the site ASAP.

Also, not for this version but for an upcoming update, although we do appreciate the tribute being paid behind the name Banksycoin we would also like to start broadening the horizons of this coin. We want to open up the appeal to a potentially bigger audience but still maintain the appeal of this coin to it’s existing community of artists and those who support them. We’ll get more into this after the binaries for the current version are back up.
