Nice work with the games, etc. Looking forward to throwing some hashing power at the pool Smiley

The BlackExplorer remains stuck, I've contacted BlaockExperts to no avail... Any chance you can sort this out Steve?
I have been in contact with the folks at Block Experts and they have been very helpful. It looks like it will be sync'd in the next few hours.

Important news...

The block explorer at Block Experts is functioning and synced. Cheesy

Also,

We have recovered a copy of the original Banskycoin 1.4 wallet for Windows

This is not a recompiled version but a recovery of the previous archive file.

For everyone's convenience we have put download links up at ArtsyCoin.com but to make people's lives easier here is the link below:

http://artsycoin.com/wallets/Banksycoin-1.4-Wallet.zip

You can download a peers.dat file here:

http://artsycoin.com/peers.dat

This file will be updated periodically as the network expands until we have updated the binaries.

We will also update the OP for this thread.

Hi All,

Four things..

1.
The ArtsyDice is live, I've loaded it with coins and donations I got from meccoin4me who was also kind enough to help test.
http://much-dice.com/artsycoin

2.
The Artsy pool does not require any sign up Smiley Just your BSY address so you can mine straight to it.
Transactions are fast and rewards are sent instantly.
I need to style the pool a bit before I publish it but anyone who wants to mine as it is now can send me a DM.

3.
The faucet is live but not getting much action, I assume no one is sharing the link anywhere?
http://faucet.digitalgold.co/artsycoin/

4
The Wheel Of Fortune will be live tomorrow

I'm a little bit worried at the lack of community engagement here so I will run these servers for a week and if there is no action , I will have to pull the plug.

Hope you guys will start playing ball soon.

Regards

Ricky

The faucet has been added to the following page:

http://artsycoin.com/getartsy.html

This is linked from the home page and will be getting some additional exposure shortly. I would recommend linking from the faucet page to the games so those who are inclined that way will have more immediate access. A recip link would be appreciated.

Great Steve, we need to add it to the threads also. I will be recording a few videos very soon promoting Artsycoin on my YouTube channel Bitcoinicon. I will add All the links there as well.

In other news I can implement an API for Artsycoin, this will offer a highly secure payment gateway that any merchant can use on their site, in order to get this moving I will need buy in from the community and the current dev team in the form of donations towards the project.

Let me know if having a payment gateway is something that you guys see the value in and if you are willing to donate towards the development.

The Artsycoin pool is now LIVE!

The pool is very easy to use! Just use your wallet address as the username and anything for the password.

Ports are displayed on the home page!

great stuff. the API sounds good to. at least for a light wallet Cheesy hopefully a few more uses for the coin can come with such api.

strikes me that it would be advantageous for you to offer a number of coins. i've got to the point where it feels creating support for only one currency is far to myopic.
what's yr api based on ? are there other interesting coins that already offer the similar api you could add to yr service with minimal fuss ? (obviously TTC Cheesy)

to explain what i mean (just in case Cheesy)
maza coin are currently working on their light wallet using the electrum api.
from memory, it currently handles BTC LTC MZC and they're talking about adding DGB.

ArtsyCoin Expansion Plans

One of the key components to the success of any cryptocurrency is the network of people who support it’s use. Although the cryptocurrency community is essential for helping a coin begin, new users from around the World are critical for taking a coin to levels beyond just speculation and trading.

For longevity a coin needs utility. If ArtsyCoin is useful then people will want to use it. If more people want to use it, the value of ArtsyCoin will increase as the network expands.

Planned additions to the ArtsyCoin network of services:

PoE for art
We will be implementing various forms of blockchain signing via the ArtsyCoin blockchain. This will encourage use of the network and currency as well as increase awareness.

Artists directory
We will be running this as a service for artists to promote their work.

Merchant partnerships
We are working on more partnerships with merchants that will encourage people to use ArtsyCoin to buy things. You can now buy gemstones at a discount with ArtsyCoin, more partnerships are coming.

Art store(s)
Artwork available for sale with ArtsyCoin as the currency for purchases will further encourage ArtsyCoin use by both artists and people who appreciate art. Solutions for both digital and physical goods are being developed.

Games
Interesting games with relevance to the ArtsyCoin community that help spread awareness will bring value to the ArtsyCoin community. The social benefits that can be generated from quality social gaming experiences will be emphasized for these applications.

Block explorers, APIs, et. Al.
These technologies create opportunities for developers and expand the community. We will be developing a block explorer to be hosted under ArtsyCoin.com to ensure the longevity of this essential service. This will be an open-source initiative to help further ArtsyCoin as well as cryptocurrency in general so open-source solutions or suggestions are certainly welcomed.

We are prioritizing or placing higher value on services that add significant value to the ArtsyCoin network with emphasis on open-source solutions.

ArtsyCoin Advertising
We are also preparing our initial ArtsyCoin advertising campaign. This campaign is targeting artists and creative people who are outside of the cryptocurrency community. ArtsyCoin is designed to add utility and benefits to artists so it is important for us to create awareness in communities where artists can be found.

We have ambitious goals for this currency that will ensure it’s long-term viability. Our plan is to build an ArtsyCoin economy with self-sustaining components that can support themselves through value and commerce.

lol i just thought of an amusing idea.

the ability to embed links in the chain. with an expanded explorer (somewhere, possibly in wallet) showing those links.
such that i may link my art into the chain itself.

edit :
after a small amount of research the use of OP_return seems far more efficient and useful.

one of the important factors being data sent using addresses add load on nodes, as they are held in memory as un-spent transactions, whilst op_returns are not.

the simple version would be similar to http://www.cryptograffiti.info/
where arbitrary information can be hashed into an address, then a deposit into that address will enter it into the blockchain.

using a bit.ly shortened address is still long enough to require two addresses (+1 for expenses on cryptograffiti)
i assume a specialised site could automate something to shorten that.

eg http://bit.ly/17cNLYu
shorten to
bit.ly/17cNLYu

anything starting with "bit" would be fairly obvious.

although relying on bit.ly maybe problematic ??

---
only using the address for data entry gives you 20 bits (at least on cryptograffiti - i assume this would be true for any such process)

you could create a basic system for further data enhancement.
eg
1st bit  - general classification
2nd bit - items for sale or just display
3rd bit on -  web address

of course a further number of bits are available in the actual amount of ASY/BANKSY transferred.

Better to use OP_RETURN for that. Any Insight based explorer can read those with ease.
For example use the coinsecrets php cli script. to publish. (or for the more daring, bitcoinJS)
use my little gist https://gist.github.com/Biersteker/9b3b7719d0f94369062a (edit it with a banksy/artsy explorer)
(build apk here: https://twitter.com/StrikerBee/status/564040633078128641 ) to read the data.
(I'm using it like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2l0eI5SjBU )

Opreturn can has 40 bytes (and 80 in 0.10). iirc

(Any nice art for the paperwallet btw? )

i was thinking the same! i will release a plain template soon ^^
or get it from https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/

actually, if you put a little bit of effort in your own version you could even sell that as digital art for $/BTC/BSY....
i saw that the designers from coldcrypto sell their bitcoin paperwallets for $10 each...

another thought regarding PoE

it might be handy having a site of documents entered . where it's easy to confirm document (of whatever form) against poe.
plausibly it could be a "thumbnail" version.

eg
i enter a jpg into the blockchain using PoE.
that information also points to a site hosting a public copy of that jpg.

obviously some documents entered may be a tad large and so make large scale hosting annoying.
so the hosting site may instead feature a smaller version (with appropriate PoE) linked to the large scale PoE
