Is it true that big pump is planned for BTCD?
No pumping please. I am still trying to buy a bunch of BTCD!
Also, there is no need to pump. Give me three months or so and as long as I get help, people will compare BTCD with other coins and well, it wont be a fair comparison because BTCD will have so much stuff

No pump. Just buy and HODL

James

I'm gonna echo James here and say that pumping the coin is not in the interest of anyone except those promoting the pump, whom will profit off it while everyone else gets taken to the cleaners.

With the features we have coming, we'll be a top tier coin.  This is a long term hold.

If people want to sell at least be smart,  pick a sell target and ladder your sell orders in smaller amounts.

this isn't about BTCD but since James is active on this thread I wanted to first say congrats on the poloniex deal! I am just wondering how that asset works, I purchased some but wondering if I need to do something with it now, like transfer to NXT asset exchange or something. Any help is appreciated, sorry if it is a noob question.
Thanks!

The idea with JLH is that it is very diversified so this reduces risk. It is also "professionally" (not sure if I deserve that term in the investment management field) managed so you dont have to worry about underperforming assets held by JLH. All the internal earnings will be reinvested to compound growth and also to prune out the laggards.

One thing that most people probably wont expect is that I will continue to add more assets to JLH, this weekend I am planning on two additions, though adding two in a week will not be a regular thing. In two months I added 20 assets, and since I am involved in a lot of startups I can usually manage to set aside 10% to put into JLH. For expensive things like sianote, I was only able to get 4%, but now thats 4% of a company that just got almost half a million USD VC investment. sianote is just one of 20 current assets in JLH.

In fact, this does relate to this thread as InstantDEX, Privatebet, NXTcoinsco, NXTforex and other assets that will be part of the tech bundle I am making for BTCD are all in JLH. So as BTCD grows, it will help InstantDEX, et all grow, which will help JLH grow. Also, as InstantDEX grows from its NXT community side, that will spill over into BTCD.

Basically everybody wins, at least as long as you are part of the JLH universe Smiley

James

P.S. So to answer your actual question, you can keep the JLH on poloniex or withdraw to your NXT acct. But make sure you make a really high entropy password! Something like:
openssl rand -base64 66

will give you a nice high entropy password so your JLH will stay safe

Hi everyone,

Could you do us all a favor and post the nodes you're running.  All you have to do is open port 80.

I'll then add them to the OP.

Thanks

I have posted everything that i have read here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=684090.msg7910483#msg7910483

from what i can see this is the first mention of  "open port 80". and why do you say "all you have to do is...". That's just lacking too much detail in the steps to do that.

now before one of the tech savvy people go off on me, realize that the landscape has changed. Now, many of us in the mining game are from other professions and have no background in writing code.  Some of us are old farts and were born way back in the 50s. we remember when the first PCs came to life lol. So, we never grew up with this stuff. as such we merely copy what you recommend.

So where do i insert this "open port 80"  line command into the conf file? I imagine it has to be in the right order.

Sorry about that,

Just disregard the port 80.  I'm not one of the technical developers, but I'm learning a lot as we go here.

What we're really need is for people to host nodes.  If people are willing to step up and host a node, please do

I think the POW ends there might be.

Everyone should be staking these so I expect the exchanges to dry up a bit

A ton of us are not staking cos we can't get the wallet to connect.

Read back over the last 20 pages or more... and you will see what i mean. Even someone called bitcoinreviews (which i presume is a media person) is not able to get his/her wallet working. that being the case, bad news about the wallet problem will not be good news for this coin.

Please get us a working wallet. I have faith in you guys. I went through the same thing with SYNC coin and they finally came up with a working wallet. Many people bailed out before hand and that coin had a rough time. Now, people who did not wait for a working wallet are likely kicking themselves.

So i am holding my coins in an exchange until i get a working wallet. I hate the idea that the Exchange is staking ( as mentioned above) with my coins tho. So, pls give us a working wallet in the next 12 hrs. PLEASE!

Very interesting. I have that one in my conf file as you may have seen. Something must be wrong with my conf file.

Do you mind sharing your entire conf file?

For those having issues with the Windows Wallet:

Brief Tutorial of the steps I took to get mine working:

1. Download and unzip the wallet.

2. Open the BitcoinDark-qt.exe file.

3. Close the Wallet (Press the X).

4. Navigate to C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Roaming\BitcoinDark

5. Create a new .txt file called BitcoinDark.txt

6. In the .txt file, paste the following code:

rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcport=14632
port=14631
daemon=1
gen=1
server=1
addnode=146.185.188.6
addnode=74.91.20.250:39997
addnode=54.85.50.15:50288
addnode=107.170.148.50:14631
addnode=65.129.66.246:57762

7. Save the file and close it.

8. Rename the file, BitcoinDark.txt to BitcoinDark.conf. Press yes when it asks you to confirm the extension change.
     ***NOTE*** Be sure the file is called BitcoinDark.conf and not BitcoinDark.conf.txt or something

9. Open the wallet with BitcoinDark-qt.exe again. Should be able to connect and SYNC wallet now.

Share some love if this helped you:

A few things wrong here.

Wallet works fine.  I have been staking for a few days now.  Try deleting your peers or fixing your conf file.

Second...exchanges don't stake coins.  At all.
